"What?" Magnus couldn't believe his ears. Drew took a deep breath. "He's blowing my punishment out of proportion because I broke up with him." Magnus shook his head. "Why? Alec would never let that happen." Magnus stuttered. "Alec cares about fairness and equality."

"You're precious. Alec is also protective of you. I tried to kiss you remember? Maybe his previous memories are clouding his judgment."

"No. I-" Magnus let out a soft sigh, turning his back to the Shadowhunter and walking up towards Alec's office. Alec wasn't that type of guy. This was a misunderstanding. Magnus would get this cleared up. He knocked on the door. "Alec?" He opened the handle and saw Alec working on a mission report.

"What is it Magnus." Alec muttered. Magnus winced at the hostile tone but sat down on one of the chairs. Alec looked up at him. "I saw Drew today. He says his punishment is exaggerated. He's getting tortured for helping Valentine?" Magnus looked at Alec's unwavering expression. "Why were you near Drew's cell? You could have gotten hurt."

Alec's voice had concern laced in it, which made Magnus feel a bit better. "I was checking the wards." Alec frowned. "Magnus. He's a threat to us and the downworld. We're taking precautions that we need to take." Alec signed something on the paper. Magnus grabbed his hand.
