Chapter 21

The rain was pouring down on his body as he shivered. He had left his jacket in the loft, but there was no way in hell he was going back for it. Alec felt lost. He knew he should have gone back to the institute, but that would mean he'd have to explain to everyone what happened. Alec wanted to fall to the floor and cry, but he didn't.

He felt empty. He kept sniffling, glamorizing himself from the rest of the world. He sat on a park bench, but he couldn't stop thinking about Magnus. He always messed up. Every single time. He should have been less harsh. He honestly didn't know what to do. But Magnus had crossed the line too. Alec was cold and for the first time, lonely.

Magnus, on the other hand, was drinking and listening to his music, but he could only hear Alec's sweet golden voice. Magnus sighed. He needed to go after him. He had fought for him in the beginning, and he'll fight for him again. Magnus got out of the loft, running down the streets. He probably looked ridiculous, all wet and dripping without an umbrella.

His magic was slowly dying down as he used it to track Alec. Magnus had taken Alec's jacket that he left. The low temperature made the rain even worse. His mind raced...what if Alec was freezing right now because a stupid warlock couldn't control his fucking feelings? What if he got sick? Do Shadowhunters even get sick? Or if he did something....no.

Magnus shook his head as he came around a park. He peered into the darkness and saw a figure. He breathed as he saw Alec. His worry and panic turned into utter happiness. Alec was sitting on the park bench, sniffing and shivering but safe. Magnus tried to call out to him, but it seemed like Alec was in this own world.

He started walking towards him hurriedly, only to be stopped by a large hand. "Hey there." Magnus spun his head around and looked the mundane in the eye. The man looked like he was fit for wrestling, his body towering over Magnus's. He tried to shove past him, but the guy wouldn't budge. Magnus looked at the man tiredly.

"I don't have time for this right now." Magnus snapped as he tried to leave. The man held on to his arm quickly. "Has anyone told you that you look amazing in red?" The man scanned Magnus's body as he said it, making the warlock uncomfortable. "Yes. My boyfriend has. Now let go. I have better things to do."

Magnus huffed as he tried to pull away. The man stared intensely into his eyes. "Come on stop being such a bitch. Let me help you relax babe." The man pinned him against the building, trailing his arms under Magnus's shirt. Magnus's eyes widen as he pulls away, kicking the man in his balls. The man howled in pain.
