Chapter 20

"I'm not doing this with you now, Alexander. He was a very nice guy. We'll be friends."

"Friends? Huh? You were whispering in each other's ears and flirting and giggling!" Magnus gasped fakely. "Oh my goodness Alexander!" Magnus said sarcastically. Alec crossed his arms. "See! You're being so sarcastic. It's like you didn't even care about my feelings!" Alec said angrily, making Magnus laugh.

"I'm sorry if I made you feel that way darling." He tried to kiss Alec, but he shoved him away. Magnus looked hurt, but he gets the hint. "Look, Alec. I do care. Let's go home and figure this out." Magnus grumbled.

Alec knew Magnus was pissed by the way he called him "Alec." They reached the loft, walking in silently. Magnus laid on the couch lazily as Alec sat on the floor. They just looked at the floor, trying to figure out something to say. "Drew is just a friend." Magnus began slowly. "It's rare that shadowhunters are as kind as he was to me. I just-" Alec cut him off abruptly.

"Sometimes you act like you're so oblivious Magnus. Drew was clearly trying to hit on you and you didn't do a damn thing to stop it!" Magnus grits his teeth. "So?" He spat out. "Charles was all over you." Magnus muttered, crossing his arms. "We were talking about the clave and Valentine. Which...ehrm..is strictly business!" Alec said, astonished as Magnus let out a bitter laugh.

"So were we." Magnus glared at Alec. Alec huffed. "Since when did talking about cocktails and yourself become a business issue?" Alec said, his voice getting louder. Magnus took that comment the hardest, looking at Alec like he had just shot him. "Is that all you think I am? A selfish shallow Warlock who cares only about alcohol and who does nothing else but lie around here all day?"

Magnus's voice was wavering as tears were building up in his eyes. Alec rolled his eyes. "You said it. Not me." He mumbled. Magnus glared at him. "I have done nothing but help you and your stupid Shadowhunter friends, need I say free of charge, since the day I met you. And you have the audacity to-" Magnus stopped, shaking his head.

"Magnus, I didn't mean-"

"Get the hell out of my loft." Magnus tried to say without his voice breaking. Alec stood up quickly, the tears streaming out from his eyes. He went towards the door of the loft. He turned around, looking at a cold Magnus. "So that's it?" Alec asked in a devastating voice. Magnus didn't look at him. Alec ran out of the loft.
