iv. INTRINSIC TORTURING

PENDRAGONS WERE KNOWN FOR STICKING THEIR NOSES INTO OTHER PEOPLES BUSINESS. The line of Pendragons was known for their eavesdropping to result in serious consequences.

THIS GENERATION OF PENDRAGONS:

SAHANA PENDRAGON – THE SEVENTH YEAR WAS NOW A GRYFFINDOR HEAD GIRL.

THEODORE PENDRAGON – THE SIXTH YEAR WAS THE GRYFFINDOR QUIDDITCH CAPTAIN.

LIESEL PENDRAGON – THE HUFFLEPUFF NOBODY.

Liesel was looked down on by her family when she became a Hufflepuff, but at least she wasn't in the house she wanted to be in. The girl had all the qualities, ambitiousness, resourcefulness and cunningness. Obviously, she had no idea why she was placed into Hufflepuff. At least the common room had cookies.

WINIFRED LOOKED OVER AT XANDER before shaking him awake; he slept for two hours on her lap. There was some weakness that debilitated him from ever getting better, and that frightened her deeply because he would never tell anyone, so no one would know how to help the frail boy.

He opened his brown eyes with an earnest effort and smiled at Winifred. "Why is the life of the party looking so serious?"

She gawked at him, wondering how someone that went through so much pain could be so content, and never complain about the fatal malady.

He arched an eyebrow at her, giving her a quizzical look. "You look incredibly stupid goggling over this handsomeness; you know that, right?"

She made a face at him, and gently pushed him off her lap, while he made an ostentatious performance as he clutched his heart and fell to the floor. Worried, Winnie immediately went down and asked him, "Xander! Are you alright- "

Xander looked up from the wooden floor, and a laugh escaped his lips. "Calm down, mum."

She glowered at her friend and his fit of laughter. "Take this seriously, Xander- "

"Don't you mean, siriusly?"

She face palmed as Xander's laughing increased.

DORIAN TOTT looked at the mermaid, awestruck. Her green tail glimmered beautifully, and her copper hair covered her chest, and her eyes seemed to burn holes into his heart.

She looked at the human, unsure whether to swim or stay. The people have caused many problems for them, and she was scared.

But she knew that she would have to say something. "Do you know someone named Xander Solasta?"

He blanched. How could a mermaid know him?

The sickly white mermaid looked at him, her hair contrasting harshly against her skin, and his mouth went dry.

She pulled her hair to the side, flapping her tail. "I'm Estelle Petrova."

The youngest Tott dropped his goblet, and it shattered on the shore.

She reversed her eyes to him and the goblet. "Six years for this shit?!"

REGULUS LOOKED AT HIS OLDER COUSIN'S ARM. The inky black Death Mark frightened the fifth year, but what frightened him more was the casual smirk playing on her purple lips.

"Bella, you did it," stuttering, he took a step back from her. He could not remember the cousin that was the favourite niece and used to play games with Sirius and himself. He saw an entirely different person.

Her high-pitched voice was familiar, though it made him cringe whenever she sang out. "Foolish cousin. Did you think I wouldn't take this offer?"

He looked back at her and to the Mark. "No, no, Bella, no- "he pleaded, hoping that this was all a dream.

She looked at him, cocking her face to the side, her tangled mane falling to the left. "Are you not excited? I thought that this was your dream!" her smile slipped from her face and she glowered at the youngest Black. "Are you following your brother's footsteps?"

His brain shut down, and his mouth couldn't utter the simplest of words. Bellatrix moved closer to him, her long fingers grasping his neck, and tilting his face, cracking his neck. He let out a moan, and closed his eyelids in anguish. The elder Black smiled at her cousin, and whispered into his ear, "Do you want to feel the suffering of that blood-traitor?"

He shook his head the best he could, but she didn't release her grip.

A gasp escaped from Liesel's lips, and Bellatrix turned around, looking at the prey that was caught. The snake was venomous, and one bite could release the secrets in the badger's head.

Liesel pulled out her wand, trying not to look as afraid as the girl felt.

THE SNAKE LAUGHED, NOT KNOWING WHAT
BADGERS ARE CAPABLE OF.
