Coming Back To Haunt Us
Jacob was having a grand old time with his adult children even if they relentlessly teased him about being nearly fifty five. Thankfully their close proximity to Steven made people think magic kept them looking young, not immortal, so they didn't have many problems with it.
Daisy and her husband Asher (yes, Adam's eldest) were the particular focus at the moment with Daisy expecting twins of her own. Asher was pretty damn proud of himself after locking Daisy down. He dripped sweat like he was wearing wool in the Sahara desert on their wedding day but once she calmed him with her chuckling but enthusiastic 'I do', Asher paraded her around everywhere with his worship. They were proud of him, he knew how to treat a woman well. Her parents had been so proud they could hardly stand it, and had showered her with love when she said she felt like a blimp, her mother relating heavily the struggles of a twin pregnancy.
Leo's girlfriend Aslana left to the kitchen, so Jacob switched his attention to his youngest. Jack was wearing a smirk leaned up against Rowan, being clingy like Jacob but sort of jaded about it like Adam while playing on his phone. Rowan glanced down and snorted, then kissed his forehead.
It was so cute Adam leaned down to kiss Jacob the same way.
Aslana came back with her food and got down on her knees at Leo's feet. "Here you go, husband."
Leo broke off the conversation with Alex and frowned. "What are you doing?"
Jacob sat up, suddenly intensely curious what was going on. Jasmin was holding back laughter with Adam.
Aslana put a confused look on her face and offered the food insistently, looking sad when Leo pushed it away. "But this is how you told me to serve you..."
Leo choked on a shocked laugh as his cheeks went scarlet. "Wha—?! I did not tell you to do this!"
Jacob turned to stare hard at his son. "Leo."
He didn't look, he was staring down at the girl he was planning to marry with horror as she protested, "But this is what you make me do at home! I-I wanna eat today!"
Jasmin scoffed under her breath and Jacob kissed her cheek as he got ready to stand. "This is gonna suck." Leo waved his hands frantically as he stood and jabbed a finger in his face. "You'd better pick a god and pray, Leo. What the fuck are you doing to this poor girl at home? Have I not taught you how to treat a spouse?!"
Leo fumbled on his words for a second before getting out, "Y-yes! No! I— I don't know what she's—!"
Jacob extended a gentle hand to Aslana. "Up on your feet, luv."
Leo groaned and grabbed at his hair. "What is happening?"
"You're gonna get your ass handed to you and char broiled," Jack suggested cheerfully. "Serves you right, asshole."
Jasmin took Aslana into her arms. "Have you eaten today, honey? I'll fix you up a plate."
Jacob spun back to his pale eldest son with pure fury in his eyes. "You and me. Outside. Now."
Jack stood suddenly. "Wait, wait! Aslana, scene!"
Aslana started cackling. "Oh my god, your sons a menace to go to school with, I don't know how Rowan does it!"
Rowan grinned and started, "I mean, it's not exactly hard when—,"
Jack sent him a look so much like Adam's glare he shut his mouth. "Shut up, Rowan."
Aslana giggled at Alex scolding him for using harsh words at his boyfriend. "I should've never taken this method acting class with him for extra credit!"
Leo's jaw dropped. "Wait, so you set me up!" He cried dramatically. "My dad was gonna kick my ass! I thought you loved me!" He crumpled onto the floor and his girlfriend desperately tried to get him to stop fake crying but it was no use, especially when he threw Milo a smirk and kept on.
Jacob had to laugh. His family was always pulling pranks and being silly. He guessed his own behavior as a parent when he stopped being so scared had influenced them to laugh a little more than the average family, to play hard and love harder. Jokes were his families love language. "For the record, I wasn't going to hurt you, you wanna know why?"
Leo rested his chin on Aslana's head after he pulled her into his lap so she couldn't conspire with his little brother anymore. "Why?"
Jacob patted his chest. "Because I prefer my heart beating safely inside of my chest, and not held in front of my screaming face."
Jasmin kissed his cheek and then his lips until the kids were gagging violently. "Good choice."
