"T-Taehyung?"

Jungkook's eyes were widened, splattering hot coffee fallen onto the snow. The word that left the other man's lips left his stomach queasy, and the confusion stirred further upon seeing dark brown eyes that he remembered fading away.

As the boy who looked and sounded an awful lot like Taehyung stepped closer, Jungkook took a step back.

No no no, I'm hallucinating again- Jungkook thought, looking away, gulping. He closed his eyes tightly, taking a sharp breath, and then opened his eyes again- expecting to see nothing. But he saw Taehyung again.

"Dollie," The boy repeated, looking awed himself as he stepped closer to Jungkook. Jungkook gulped, and then felt the boy put his hand on Jungkook's arm- and oh my god he wasn't dreaming. This was real.

"W-who- who a-are you?" Jungkook squeaked, eyes big, not sure if he was more scared or confused or perhaps a mixture of both.

He smiled. Taehyung, who Jungkook still thought was a hallucination, smiled. "It-it's me. It's Taehyung." Taehyung whispered, and Jungkook took another step back.

"N-no- no you're not- you- who are you? Is-is this a-a joke? I-I-"

"Kookie, it's me." Taehyung said softly, looking almost a little mirthful at Jungkook's shock. "I know you're confused. There's an awful lot to explain."

"You're not! Y-you just look-look like him! T-Taehyung's dead- he-"

Jungkook watched as Taehyung sighed, giving off a small smile. "You're not dreaming, Jungkook. It's actually me. I-I didn't know you were here."

"I am dreaming! You're a random p-person wearing a mask!" Jungkook snapped, and Taehyung smiled, which made Jungkook's eyes bigger because his smile hadn't changed one bit.

Taehyung stepped closer to Jungkook, and then placed his hands on him and pulled him in, wrapping his arms around him. "I-I missed you so much, Kookie. God- y-you're still so beautiful, doll." Taehyung whispered, and Jungkook felt his hands grip onto Taehyung's jacket, his eyes still wide, mouth falling open.

Jungkook fainted.

Jungkook woke up and felt his eyes in a blur. He blinked his eyes a few times, and then opened his eyes fully. A soft sigh escaped his lips.

His dream- it-it felt so real. When Taehyung hugged him, it felt like an actual human body against his. His mind was spinning, mouth feeling a little dry. He knew he got a stupid dream about Taehyung. It was a stupid dream which made his heart race which is stupid because Taehyung is dead and-

"You're awake!" A voice came, and Jungkook sat up instantly, looked to his side, and then saw Taehyung, in the flesh, sitting there, smiling a little.

Jungkook let out a scream of fear, scurrying back- while Taehyung moved closer to him. "Kook- relax-"

"Zombie!" Jungkook cried, and moved further back. "Vampire! Zombie! Walking dead! G-ghost!" Jungkook shrieked, and then Taehyung grabbed his hand, and placed it on his cheek.

Jungkook's doe eyes widened. "Not a ghost." Taehyung whispered to him.

Jungkook breathed heavily for a few seconds, chest heaving up and down, hand still on Taehyung's tan cheek. Jungkook blinked a few times, and then moved a little closer to him.

Jungkook placed his other hand on Taehyung's cheek, feeling the warmness of his cheek under his palm. Taehyung's eyes softened, placing his hand over Jungkook's.

"T-Taehyungie?" Jungkook squeaked.

Jungkook felt every emotion he'd been suppressing for 2 and a half years rush back to him. Every memory he erased rush back to him. Every tear he'd kept inside prickle to his eyes and every sob he'd controlled break out of his lips.

Taehyungie.

"I'm alive." Taehyung whispered, and Jungkook felt Taehyung's vision in front of him blurring, and he instantly leaped forward, wrapping his arms around the boy.

Jungkook didn't know what to say. What to ask. How's he alive? What're you doing here? Why didn't you call me? I literally watched you die????

"Y-y-you-you-you're alive." Jungkook let out, and Taehyung tightened his grip around him, smiling. Jungkook pulled away, gripping his cheeks with his hands, looking at him closely, face inches apart.

"A-are you sure I'm not dreaming?" Jungkook asked softly, and Taehyung chuckled.

"No, doll, it's me." Taehyung said, and Jungkook smiled, and then his smile softened. Jungkook pulled his hands away, moving back.

"You're alive?" Jungkook snapped, and Taehyung frowned, taken aback by this sudden raise in volume. "You're fucking alive?!" Jungkook continued, now looking angered.

Taehyung gulped. "Um- y-yes.."

"How..how long?" Jungkook asked, and Taehyung frowned. "How long have I been alive?... Forever, I guess- I mean-"

"Ugh- I-I'm so confused- this isn't real. Listen. I'm dreaming. Look, I-" Jungkook said, and then pinched his arm, and let out a squeak and realised he didn't wake up.

Jungkook looked, and his cheeks turned red when he saw Taehyung was looking at him with a small smile on his face. "What's going on?" Jungkook whispered. "I-I thought you died. I watched you die, Taehyung." Jungkook said, and Taehyung sighed.

"Okay- do you wanna talk about this over a cup of coffee?" Taehyung asked, and Jungkook looked around.

"W-where are we?" Jungkook asked, realising he's sitting on a bed.. seemingly in a loft.

"I know the guy who owns this coffee place. It's his apartment. The coffee shop is right below. C'mon." Taehyung said, and then reached his hand out for Jungkook to grab and stand up.

Jungkook grabbed his arm and then stood up, and then reached his hands over to cup Taehyung's face, touching down his face, to his shoulders, down to his arms. "You really are alive." Jungkook whispered, and Taehyung giggled.

"Yeah. Kind of." Taehyung replied, and Jungkook nodded, feeling rather dazed.

Taehyung turned around to lead him down the loft to the coffee shop. And for some reason. For some fucking reason-

Jungkook took his engagement ring off and slid it into his pocket.

And he doesn't know why. He doesn't know why he wanted to hide it from Taehyung and he hopes he didn't see it but for some fucking reason he just didn't want Taehyung to see it. So he hid it.

"Nice jacket, by the way." Taehyung said, and Jungkook realised he was still wearing the pink Gucci fur coat. Jungkook blushed lightly, and saw how Taehyung was giving him a smirk.

Jungkook would've said something, but he just looked at Taehyung. He was 25 now. Taehyung was 25- going to be 26. He had dark hair, not silver anymore. His skin was still flawless, tan, nose a perfect line and the little mole on it which Jungkook loved. His lips were still red, eyes still dark, same clothing and everything.

He hadn't changed. But Jungkook had.

Jungkook followed him down to the coffee shop, entering it through a back door. Taehyung gave a nod to the black haired tattooed coffee shop guy, and then proceeded to sit down on a little table in the corner. Taehyung sat down, and then looked at Jungkook, who was just stood there staring at Taehyung.

"You can sit down." Taehyung chuckled deeply, and Jungkook nodded, snapping out of his thoughts and sat down on the chair, clearing his throat.

Taehyung smiled at him, and then a waiter came up to them. "Can I get you anything?" The waiter asked, and Taehyung looked at him. "Yeah. One black coffee- and one-" Taehyung said, looking at Jungkook.

"N-nothing for me." Jungkook said softly, and Taehyung nodded, but then looked at the waiter. "And.. one of those mini chocolate tarts." Taehyung said, and Jungkook blushed.

"Y-you remember?" Jungkook asked, and Taehyung turned towards him. Taehyung smiled. "Of course I remember, Kook. Why would I forget?" Taehyung said, and Jungkook smiled a little.

Jungkook looked down at the table, but then back up at Taehyung, giving him an apprehensive look. Taehyung sighed. "You're looking at me like I'm a ghost."

"I don't know if you're not." Jungkook said softly, and Taehyung chuckled to himself, and then stood up and scooted his chair closer to Jungkook, sitting right beside him.

"Hey." Taehyung whispered, and Jungkook saw how close he was to him, and blinked a couple of times. "Hi." Jungkook replied shyly, and Taehyung grinned.

"You're not dreaming." Jungkook nodded. "You're not hallucinating." Jungkook nodded. "I'm alive." Jungkook nodded, and then smiled a little.

"Y-you are." Jungkook let out, and Taehyung smiled. "But- but how? I-I saw you die- I think, honestly I-I don't even know anymore. I swear- y-you died, and-and-"

"I did." Taehyung replied, and Jungkook frowned. "I mean, for a few seconds. Baekhyun injected some shit in me. I guess you were crying. I-I don't know. Some science shit. Turns out I- um- I didn't actually die?? Like- um.."

Jungkook froze. "...You didn't actually die?" Jungkook whispered, and Taehyung shook his head. "No.. I mean, I-I-"

"...So for three years, I thought you died on a death bed, your last words telling me you're sorry- I moved all the way to United States, lived here for three whole years- and-and you didn't actually die?!" Jungkook snapped, and Taehyung frowned.

"Kook, I looked for you! I went to Chicago, and-"

"Well you didn't look hard enough." Jungkook said shakily, and Taehyung closed his mouth, looking down.

"I get it if you're mad at me." Taehyung said, and then looked at Jungkook. "I-I was. I mean- I was stuck in South Korea. A thousand people looking for me. I just- I thought you not knowing about me was the best for all of us."

The waiter walked up to them, placing their food and drink down. Taehyung gave him a quick smile, and then turned back towards Jungkook, who was looking down.

"Yeah, okay." Jungkook said plainly, and Taehyung sighed. "Anyways- how were the last three years?" Taehyung asked, and Jungkook looked up at him.

"Fine. They were fine. But I wish you would've told me that Mark's sister was a complete bitch." Jungkook said, and Taehyung frowned.

"What'd she do?"

"Nothing, Tae. She was just- she was a bitch. I live here now." Jungkook said, and Taehyung hummed.

"Alone?"

Jungkook paused for a few seconds. "Yes."

"Oh, nice. Where do you work?" Taehyung asked, and Jungkook picked at his trousers. "T-t-this.. uh... place." Jungkook said, and Taehyung chuckled.

"Well, okay. You don't have to tell me. Here." Taehyung said, and then slid the tart closer to Jungkook, but Jungkook shook his head and pushed it away.

"No no- I-I don't eat sweet stuff. I mean- um- I'm dieting." Jungkook said, and Taehyung raised an eyebrow.

"Dieting? Why? You look perfect, Jungkook. I mean-"

"It's not a big deal, Tae. In-In fact- I think I need to go now." Jungkook said, suddenly feeling this wave of memories washing over him.

Taehyung gulped and nodded. "Well I mean- there's a lot more that happened." Taehyung said, standing up with him. "And I'd love to catch up more. If-if you want to hang out some time? I-I live around here. So-"

"I-I don't know. I'm busy." Jungkook said, and then walked towards the door of the coffee shop, walking out.

"I see." Taehyung said with a small smile, showing a hint of sadness. "I get it, Kook. I'll stay out of your life." Taehyung said, and Jungkook looked at him.

Jungkook leaned forward and wrapped his arms around him, letting Taehyung hug him back. Jungkook hugged him only for a few seconds, and then pulled away.

"You look beautiful, by the way." Taehyung whispered, and Jungkook blushed. He felt Taehyung's hands on his sides, looking into his brown ones with a sparkle in his eye.

"T-Thank you." Jungkook squeaked, and then took a step back. "I'll see you. I guess." Jungkook whispered, and then turned around and walked the other way back to his car.

Taehyung sighed, scratching the back of his head.

He gets it though. He gets if Jungkook wants to be distanced. He probably has a happy life now and he's moved on. And Taehyung would pull him back.

Taehyung walked back into the coffee shop, and saw the coffee guy standing there. The guy snickered at Taehyung, and Taehyung sighed.

"I know." Taehyung said, and the guy just looked amused.

"You lied to him."

"I know, Noah." Taehyung mumbled, and the guy hummed. "I mean, don't you want him to know? Your story has a lot of plot holes." Noah, the coffee shop dude, said.

"My real one does too. He'll be even more pissed at me if he knows the real stuff. Anyways- I'm gonna drink that black coffee and get the fuck out of here." Taehyung said, and Noah hummed.
