Contract

AUTHOR's P.O.V
"Documents? Certificates?"

Shit...

Y/N's face hardened, paleness painting itself all over her face as she gulped. Why did a matter of such significance not even cross her mind? Her shocked demeanor didn't go unnoticed by the sharp-witted dark navy, though. Jimin raised an eyebrow at her, unfazed eyes taking in her sight. Fuck, what should I do?! She was dumbfounded. "E-Err... Sorry?" She asked in such a low voice, almost as if she didn't want him to hear her.

He poked his inner cheek before ominously straightening his posture. "Are you deaf ?? Or dumb??" He spat out, making goosebumps line her skin. As her heartbeat sank down, she quickly bowed her head, "I-I'm sorry, Mr. Park. Actually... I-I didn't bring any document or certificate. I came here... Bare handed..." Y/N mumbled, lowering her head to blanket the gloomy fear surfacing on her eyes from him.

A gradually loudening silence suffocated her as she kept her eyes on her nervously shivering fingers. Why was he silent? She didn't know. But she felt his sharp, absurd stare at her. Suddenly, she heard him burst into laughter. The light brown instantly looked up from her hands to see the unexpected reaction.

"What did you say? You didn't bring anything?" He questioned with an amused smile stretching his lips, needing to hear a confirmation of the words perceived. The abrupt changes of his aura was starting to scare Y/N. She saw it very clearly in his expression, he underestimated her. Nevertheless, to answer his question, Y/N slowly shook her head. Jimin scoffed, exchanging a quick glance with one of the men on his side before bringing back his attention to the overly oblivious girl.

"Name," he said, tapping his nails on the table. There it was, another shift of aura. He now stared dead into her eyes, waiting for an answer. "Y/N. Ray Y/N." She pursed her lips, hesitant eyes looking into his, only to find them digging deep into the shade of her own orbs. He ran his tongue over his plump lips, causing an unknown feeling to erupt in the pit of her stomach.

I want this to end.

God, please, make it quick...

"Get out."

Y/N's eyes snapped, widely staring at his in shock. This isn't what she meant by it being quick. "M-Mr. Park, what do you mean?" In mere disbelief the words left her mouth, a miserable hope telling her he might not have meant it. But his response made her even more miserable. "I said get out. What part of it do you not understand?"

"Mr. Park... Please don't do this to me. I need this job!"

"You came here with absolutely nothing. What do you expect me to do? Why would you even expect me to have anything to do with you?"

"Please Mr. Park, I really need this job! Yes, I don't have any qualifications but I-I swear I can do anything. I will do anything, please. I will do whatever you say! Please..." She frantically pleaded, seeming just like a desperate woman trying to make her ex stay. Or even worse.

Jimin leaned forward, placing his elbow on the table to rest his chin on his palm. With the charmingly intimidating eyes he scanned her face, tilting his head to a side as one corner of his lip curved up in a smirk. "What makes you think I would hire a low-class girl like you to be my assistant?"

What...?

"And what makes you think that... You're educated enough to work for me? For my company?" He haughtily sneered, crawling onto Y/N's nerves. She gritted her teeth while clenching her fists, her fury fogging up her gaze. So... I'm not educated enough, huh? Jimin chuckled, running his svelte fingers through his hair delicately.

"I'll just go straight to the point, okay? Right when you opened your mouth, I told myself... I don't fucking trust this girl. And I don't regret telling myself that." He whispered curtly, wounding her eager expectations.

"And I'm sure you can't even make a cup of coffee perfectly."

Enough!

Y/N abruptly stood up outraged, slamming her palms on the table. In a second, all the men that were standing by each side of the table took their guns out and aimed it at the girl. Saying she didn't flinch in the inside with tremendous fear would be a lie, but she was strongly determined she wouldn't alter her stance.

I need to show him the real me.

"Watch your mouth, Park. I'm not a girl you can underestimate easily," she warned, wrath brewing in her orbs as she glared at him sharply. He clenched his jaw, his forehead creased with a grimace. "Do you even know who you are fucking talking to?" He rasped, his displeased voice going octaves lower.

"Yes, I do. A human." She retorted back spitefully, getting on the last of his nerves. He promptly stood up, the chair screeching back as he slammed his right hand on the table. And again, she didn't flinch a bit. She raised both of her eyebrows with arrogance, wanting to piss him off more.

He deserved it, with that attitude of his.

"What? It's true. You are a human. I am a human. No matter what kind of position you are in, how many people are terrified of you... You are still a human. You still are created by the God who created me too. So, you have no right to assume things about me when you know absolutely nothing, 'cause it's not impossible for you to be in my shoes right now. So be grateful that God gave you the chance to be in that world of yours." Y/N burst, raging eyes not leaving him for even a split moment.

Jimin's orbs mirrored hers, glaring at them with equal intensity, dispiriting the last bits of courage she had. However, another pair of eyes lingered sharply on her too. But not with the dangers and disasters like that of Jimin's dark one; with curiosity.

It was of the man standing all the way to the side, head tilted with his eyes fixated on the girl from the moment they landed on her in the waiting room. It would be a lie to say he wasn't waiting for her turn. All the others were as expected. Intelligent and over enthusiastic. But her? He knew she was absolutely oblivious. And that's why his eyes could not steer away. She had a blind determination, and he was drawn to it.

Awe was not enough to express his thoughts. Challenging the boss ? Now that's something no one who values their bones would do. He was intrigued. He could see something in her, the way she leaned forward, furiously seeking her rights. And for the second time, the corner of his lips rose.

Jimin now placed his other hand on the table as well, eyes glinting mysteriously as he leaned closer to Y/N's hardened face, effortlessly making her lose all of her confidence.

"Tell the others to fuck off. We're leaving."

" With her... "

Y/N was stunned, her eyes glimmering at the words the gorgeous dark navy uttered. "Wait, I'm accepted?!" She asked, voice laced with surprise; a pleasant one.

In the flash of an eye, his body retracted itself. When her eyes slowly looked over towards his straightened stance, she saw his right arm extended towards a stack of papers on the table. Her gaze drifted down to it. "Yet," he said.

Y/N tilted her head, looking at the neat stack of papers then back at him.

"It's a contract," he said, giving her an answer to her questioning gaze with his eyes piercing into her, making her knees feel weak as if wanting to drop backwards any second. He removed his hand from the papers to reach for the ink pen on the pocket above his chest. He placed it down before saying, "I will give you 6 months to show your non-existing capabilities."

Ignoring the bitterness in his comment, Y/N curiously reached for the papers all stapled together. Her fingers picked random pages to open for her eyes to quickly scan through before flipping over a few more.

Oh gosh, why is it so long... For just a 6-month job. And the writing. I can barely read it, it's so small!

Jimin watched the way she was about to start turning page by page. "You just have to sign at the back page saying you're up for the job, if you wanna save your time." She gave a nod and flipped to the back page where at the very end was blank space asking for the signature. She began skim reading the information above.

"Agree to be the assistant to the..."

"I do not have all day for you." He interrupted in a rather hurried manner. His voice became firm and demanding, it was almost impossible not to abide by him. "If you want it, sign it or I have hundreds of those other girls who probably want it more desperately than you do," he said, voice sharp and urgent.

"Oh— No, no I do want it!" Y/N shook her head, her eyes spilling a slight panic at the threat of losing the job. There is no way I'm letting this go. Without a second thought, she grabbed the pen and rushed down her signature at the bottom.

The light brown took a deep breath of relief placing the pen down. As she was about to look over the words, it was snatched away from her view. "Very well," said Jimin, handing the contract out for the man beside to collect it. "Now that you will be my assistant for the next 6 months... I dare you..." Jimin slowly made his way towards her, stopping in his tracks right in front of her. He leaned closer to her ear till she swore she could feel his feverish breath against it.

"To impress me."
