AUTHOR's P.O.V
Y/N wrapped her arms around herself to keep her body warm in the breezy weather. It was her first day at work, and the chill in the air was already putting her off. She shuffled with quick, extended steps, trying to align herself behind Jimin, who was already striding into the building after being greeted by all the guards.
The light brown followed Jimin through the grand hallways, her eyes fixated on the back of his dark navy locks until he halted in front of the elevator door. As it opened, both of them stepped inside the unoccupied space.
She took her place against the wall panels, her eyes falling on her smudged reflection. Silence engulfed the air as he pressed the button that said '10', walking backward and leaving her in front of him.
The air in the elevator became tense with only the two inside the closed space. Y/N's body seemed to have eyes of its own as it stayed rooted in its spot, well aware of the smoldering gaze burning into her back, taking all of her freedom away. But she could neither peek over her shoulder to confirm nor stand in front of him for too long.
She lifted her eyes and looked at the display screen above the door in which the numbers changed every few seconds. She silently prayed for the number 10 to appear soon, feeling like a prey under his scrutiny.
A few moments later, the metallic hum ceased, and the door slid open, allowing her to release her breath. She wasted no time to step out and move aside. Jimin strode ahead into the corridor of the 10th floor, at the end of which was his office. She followed him across, feeling rather timid behind him. Jimin's intimidating aura had enhanced his ability to gain control in every situation, even if it was just a mere walk.
He ventured into the room, coming to a halt in the middle of it as Y/N got inside, closing the door behind her with a soft thud.
A sharp, beautiful fragrance of musk welcomed her, taking her by surprise. The vast room was spotless, not a single paper out of place. It was spacious but had only a few belongings, marking its neatness. It was unlike any other room she'd seen in the building; the black walls and the black furniture blending with Jimin's daunting aura.
"Here's where you're going to be working," Jimin's voice echoed, breaking into her thoughts. Y/N's gaze wandered around, finally stopping at the table on her left. She assumed it to be hers until she caught the shine of the nameplate placed on the table in the center that had Park Jimin carved in bold.
She inhaled an unsteady breath, contemplating what she should do next. His silence made it harder for her; did he think she had enough experience to work without any directions given to her? She couldn't just decode his thoughts, could she?
"Are you going to stand there all day?" The dark navy arched his brow. "Go to your desk." His hoarse voice left his lips as he walked to his desk, dropping himself on the chair as he crossed his legs. Y/N's grip around the strap of her handbag tightened, and her eyes darted to the other end of the room where a smaller desk stood on the opposite side. Assuming it was hers, Y/N inhaled a sharp breath as her feet took hesitant steps towards the table.
She was about to rest her body on the chair when she heard his voice across the room again. "Wait," she froze at his command. "Don't. I have something I need you to pass to Adam."
An audible 'huh?' left her mouth as her eyebrows knitted at his words. Don't, as in, don't sit down or don't start working? The words roamed around her mind as she tried to comprehend what they meant. He couldn't utter any sentence without twisted words, a result of his twisted mind.
Ten minutes. It's been ten minutes, and Y/N hasn't moved an inch. Her feet started to ache from the pressure of her body on the heels, asking her to give up now and then. Jimin's eyes stared straight ahead at the illuminated screen, his fingers typing on the keyboard nonstop.
Mindlessly, a quiet sigh escaped her lips, which didn't go unnoticed by the boss. Jimin caught a glimpse of her slumping from the corner of his eye. He leaned back onto his swivel chair, rotating it a little to face her as he uncrossed his legs, his head tilting to a side ever so slightly. Upon noticing his hardened gaze digging daggers through her soul, Y/N's body stiffened, feeling immobilized.
"Walk." The man rasped, a wave of shudder running down her spine. Something didn't sound right about his tone, and she didn't know what to expect. Not wanting to mess with his temper on her very first day, the light brown reluctantly made her way to his table.
She stopped when she was about two feet away from him, her hands placed atop each other in front of her and her head hung low.
"Closer."
Y/N lifted her gaze in uncertainty, looking into his eyes for confirmation. When his gaze didn't budge any bit, she took a few more cautious steps forward.
"Closer, Y/N."
Closer? The sudden shift of his demeanor made her gulp. She furtively glanced at his face, noticing his irises darkening. She felt herself shivering as she took another step, leaving no space between herself and his chair this time.
With no warning, Jimin's hand swiftly took hold of her wrist, pulling her down to himself. She yelped in alarm, her body losing balance as she found herself on his lap, her hand abruptly moving to hold onto his collar.
Taking his sweet time to decrease the distance between their faces, he leaned closer, torturously intensifying her racing heartbeat. His hand slowly snaked around her waist, caressing her skin over her thin cloth as he inched closer to her neck.
Her eyelids met as she felt lightheaded when she sensed the tip of his fingers tracing up from her arm to her neck, then to her cheek. The unexpected rush of foreign emotions lingered in her heart as he left trails of goosebumps everywhere he touched.
"Here, doll." Jimin whispered, his breath gracing her neck. She furrowed at the feeling of a sharp object running down her arm, parting her eyes to see what it was. It was the corner of an envelope he held in his hand, making her look back at him in confusion.
"Take," he waved the envelope lightly, and she wasted no time grabbing it as she observed it briefly. "Give this to Adam. Now get out of here."
Y/N gaped at him in shock as she was caught off guard by yet another awful switch of his behavior. A sick feeling erupted in her stomach as her cheeks heated up in embarrassment at the position she was in. How did I end up in this absurd situation?
She let go of his collar, promptly standing up and distancing herself from the man who looked utterly nonchalant about what had just happened. With her hand balled into a fist, Y/N turned on her heels and paced out of his office with burning cheeks.

What floor was he on again? Y/N's thin fingers clutched the envelope as she took another unsure step into the narrow corridor that led to the elevator. She got inside when the elevator door opened, pressing button 9 as she rested against the wall panel, her hands gripping the cold railing. I'll just stop at every floor and check which is his.
The chime of the elevator told her she arrived, and the doors slid open. Just as Y/N entered the floor, she was met with a lecherous and suffocating sight that caused her to shut her eyes impulsively.
She came to the right floor.
A nauseous sensation crept inside her as disturbing noises told her exactly what was happening all around her. Even with closed eyes, it was like she could see the slapping of bodies right next to her that echoed through her ears and the lace that barely covered them. Not to mention the sound of lips aggressively moving in places she did not even want to think about making her want to evaporate this very moment.
I found the right floor but now I have to find the right person.
Parting her eyes, Y/N lowered her head and pushed her way through the obscene crowd. All the bare legs passing by told her they were not who she was looking for and hoped to find the man with the broad shoulders as soon as possible.
As she walked further inside, the moaning gradually subsided which allowed her to finally lift her gaze up and wander around to find her bearings. She realized that she was in a large hallway that must connect the front of the floor from whatever was at the back.
Y/N then noticed an open door to her right and went straight to it only to find a few more girls in lingerie casually sitting on one of the sofa's inside as if this was their daily lives and homeware. Her stomach tightened uneasily as their abhorrent gazes instantly shifted to her that roamed every inch of her body, from her head to her toe.
The light brown's eyes didn't waver from their vile looks when the lone bulb above her head formed a shadow beside hers, much taller and broader than her own. She felt a touch on her shoulder, causing her to whip around in fright.
"Mr. Adam?" Y/N clutched her chest, letting go of a sigh at his smiling face.
"Did I scare you?" His mischievous smile widened.
"Oh, it's okay you probably didn't—"
" I intended to. "
Y/N frowned, a soft chuckle making its way out of her. A grin splayed across Adam's lips that softened his features, contrasting with the brutal immorality he was engulfed in. She looked him in the eye, recognizing a glint of kindness and glee in them. It was her first time looking at him from this close, and she caught herself sinking in his smile.
The white button-ups that hugged his tall frame highlighted his soft blonde locks. He was good-looking, and Y/N couldn't deny it.
"Did you lose your way, Y/N? You certainly don't belong here," Adam shrugged, crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"Oh, that," Y/N scoffed, gravitating her indifferent gaze to the mysterious piece of paper she held. "Mr. Park handed me this envelope and asked me to pass it to you," she raised her hand as Adam took hold of it.
His face fell, weary eyes staring at the envelope as if the content inside was very well known to him. "Oh... Of course, intriguing," Adam derided with a tight sardonic smile, making his disinterest radiate from his words. "What else did I expect?" Adam rolled his eyes.
Y/N fought an urge to ask about the letter but couldn't hold it after seeing Adam's shoulder droop lower. "You... Know what's in there?" She asked uncertainty, noticing that he seemed to know exactly what was written in there as if he could read through the envelope.
"Unfortunately, yes." His gaze tore away from the paper and Y/N could see a hint of dismay hidden inside his eyes. He might have said that she didn't belong there, but truth to be told, in them, he was the one who seemed the most disheartened, even in his complacency.
"Is it... That bad?" Y/N asked nervously, trying to talk but unsure whether it was her place to.
Adam hesitated for a moment before his eyes locked in the light brown's. They pierced through hers but not in the malicious way that Jimin's did. A more subtle yet strong and firm at the same time. "Sometimes we do things we don't want to do. Sometimes we abandon our own morals. But we must obey orders at all times."
A ringing sound from Adam's phone broke the silence, diverting his attention. Adam pulled his phone out of his back pocket, a grimace painting his face as he checked who the caller was, "Gotta take it." He sent one last smile in her direction before walking away, leaving her in the corridor.
Y/N's head hung low, her lungs collapsing in a heavy sigh as the warm feeling of being around him left the room too. Well, at least I'm outta here now. Just as she spun her heel to head back, she heard a voice from the side.
"Oh look, it's that so-called big boss' assistant waddling back to her master." A sneering voice echoed from the room to her right, the words spat by one of the girls hovering in the air that halted Y/N's steps, her lips slightly parted as the words sunk inside her.
"I don't even know why he got an assistant in the first place. They were all doing fine by themselves, right Rachel?"
"Oh please, do you really think she assists him? At work?"
Furrowing her brows, Y/N turned her head over her shoulder and met the sneering eyes of the girl Rachel who continued to speak. "More like in bed. Everybody wants to get laid on the big boss' bed. Everybody wants a good fuck. She's not excluded, okay? It's very obvious that she wants to get into his pants, not into her work."
She clenched her fist, the infuriating words getting on her last nerve, riling her up. Closing her eyes, her face contorted into a deep grimace. This bitch is really asking for it.
"She just thought she'd be better than us if she's not here."
If she's not here...
Y/N turned her body around, her enraged eyes falling on the group of girls sitting on the sofa, Rachel in the center leaning back with her arms crossed in front of her barely covered chest. Many others inside the room left whatever busied them to look up, awaiting what would happen next.
"Excuse me?" Y/N tilted her head, finding herself in a conversation she never thought she'd be having, not at least when all that she needed to do was return to Jimin and obey his orders. "What?" Rachel spoke, raising a slender eyebrow with a smug expression plastered on her face. She clearly looked like someone who walked into this hell with their own will.
She was pretty though; there was no denial in that. Her dark brown hair with purple highlights cascaded down her shoulders smoothly, outlining her slim jawline. The black silk dress that hugged her frame revealed almost all of her skin, her thin legs crossed in front of her. But with that attitude? No matter how many plastic surgeries work magic on her, they can't hide the stinkiness of it.
Y/N's tongue cloaked her full lips, the corner of her mouth tugging upwards into a sneering smile as she mirrored the actions of Rachel, crossing her arms as well. "Do you perhaps... Mind repeating what you said?" She questioned, earning a snicker from the other female.
"Can you not hear things in the first place? Isn't that your job?" She spat out, unable to hide the spite that colored her tone, making it crystal clear that she was, in fact, intimidated by the presence of the big boss' assistant.
Y/N chuckled, looking down at the ground before shifting her attention back towards the dark brown. "Well then, if I'm not mistaken, it was me who you were talking about, and I'd like to hear it louder and clearer." She explained, her lips stretching in feigned kindness although her mind was wrapped in a fury that she tried to suppress.
Rachel eyed her from head to toe before scoffing at her, locking her eyes back with Y/N's. "You just got here, and you already think that everything revolves around you?" She looked over to the others, urging them to laugh with her. Fake or not, just laugh. Y/N tittered, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, an idea suddenly popping in her mind. "Ahh... So, you're saying that you weren't talking about me, hmm?" She scrunched her nose thoughtfully, slowly nodding her head.
"You were talking about yourself then, huh?"
Her words made Rachel's ears perk up, raising an eyebrow on the way.
"Wh—"
"You were talking about yourself because you are the one that wants to get into the boss' pants, right?" Again, her words clearly stabbed Rachel right through her chest as she suddenly felt defensive, straightening her posture and uncrossing her arms while getting closer to the woman in white.
"You bitch. Do you think everyone is like you? I'm not the one who's probably trying to get into bed with him at every fucking chance."
Y/N's brow furrowed at those words that echoed inside her bones. It fought back to tell her that they were not true. I didn't choose to be here... I didn't know what I signed...
But could she show that weakness in front of them?
The light brown pursed her lips ready to pounce back. "Of course, you aren't like me, because you already tried and failed. That's why you're here, right? You were dumped to level nine because you are not good enough to be in level ten, my level. Oh, and let's not talk about trying to get into bed with Mr. Park because you never even got to stand next to him. Isn't that right, Rachel?"
"Who do you think you are, huh?" She grumbled, glaring straight at Y/N's eyes as she stepped closer and closer, her hand reaching up and pushing the light brown's shoulder. "Who do you think you are?"
"Just because you're now here, working as his assistant after passing everything, let me repeat, you are not any better than us. The fact that you are here instead of any other workplace says enough about your filthy self. Sooner or later, that fucking cocky self of yours will face worse than this so-called level nine. At that moment, you will realize how lucky I am to be here."
Y/N's lip curved up to a smirk, her head tilting gently as she gazed at Rachel with kind eyes. "Lucky as in... Being paid to suck a perverted old man's dick?"
Rachel's jaw clenched at her words, anger brewing inside her as she attempted to push her again when a broad-shouldered man suddenly stepped between them, his back facing Y/N.
"Enough both of you." Adam.
"You," he pointed towards Rachel. "Behave." Like an obedient puppy, she looked down at her feet, shutting her mouth in an instant.
He then turned his head towards Y/N, capturing her eyes with his as he raised an eyebrow. "Anything else, Y/N?" His voice softened. "I'm sure Mr. Park needs you right now. You don't want him to be looking for you, do you?" That would be another one of her biggest nightmares.
The light brown shook her head, pursing her lips. "No, Mr. Adam. That would be it. Excuse me," she bowed her head to him out of respect. When she lifted her head, her eyes met with a pair that was already glaring at her with menace, clenching and unclenching her jaw.
Y/N shot Rachel a smirk before gracefully turning around and working her way out of the room, her hips swaying with every step as Rachel's glare burned through her back.

Y/N climbed up the staircase leading to the 10th floor, deciding it would be quicker than waiting for the elevator to pull up. The corridor of the 10th floor seemed dimmer than when she left as she walked towards the end of it. When she reached the door to Jimin's office, she found it slightly open. The light brown gulped, lifting her hand to knock on it gently.
"Come in," a low voice mumbled from inside the room, lining goosebumps on Y/N's skin as her cold hand wrapped around the doorknob to push the door wider for herself. With timid steps, she shuffled inside with her head hung low, her heart pounding into her ears as she sensed something odd. Jimin was being awfully quiet.
But not for too long.
"Took you a good while to pass down an envelope," Jimin stated, his tongue poking out to swipe across his plump lips as his darkened gaze roamed every inch of her face. He got up, his chair getting pushed back in the process. His feet leisurely dragged him around the table, his fingertips gliding over the dark wood.
The dark navy was increasing the tension with his actions on purpose, his presence robbing her of her breath. His steps ceased when he came face to face with her as he slid one hand inside his pocket.
"Looks like you've already made yourself at home here."
