Entry 7
As the sun was shining, I sat on the floor next to Sprigatito and enjoyed the lovely breeze. I looked over to find that my partner was playing with itself in its sleep which I then began to write down on my Rotom Phone.
Suddenly, I heard my name being called and then the door from behind me opened and Roy burst through, scaring me.
"Ah, there you are!" Roy exclaimed.
"Roy you're full of energy!" I giggled.
"Liko let's do this!" He said.
"Okay... do what?" I asked.
He reminded me of how we're both pokémon trainers now and then he asked me to battle him, which I nodded to.
We walked onto the battlefield and as our two pokémon made their first clash, no damage was made except for the fact that Fuecoco almost lost balance.
Roy told his pokémon to use Ember but I countered it with Leafage, which led to a small explosion in the center of the battlefield. We both then called the same attack repeatedly but to be honest, we weren't getting anywhere by doing that.
We continued on for a little while longer but then both of our partners fell tired and stopped. We both gasped and then Mollie who had acted as our referee decided to call the battle as a tie.
Suddenly, Mollie's Rotom Phone started ringing and when we heard it was a call from Friede, we walked over to her to listen closer.
He announced for us to head to the meeting room, so we all walked over to there together. When we got there, Friede handed back out newly updated Rotom Phones and showed us all the different apps that had just been added.
We learnt how by having the Rising Voltacklers app, we were now official members and could contact the others a lot more easily, which was great.
Me and Roy both thanked Friede and he told us how we didn't really need to since we were all friends now.
"Oh umm... thanks buddy," I mumbled.
"Hey, 'buddy, I like that!" He replied, "You two are already starting to fit right in!"
Although he was dissapointed when he found that Roy was too distracted by the fact he now had a Pokédex. He said how he really wants to register Rayquaza into it but then sighed when he remembered that we had no idea where it was.
Friede very quickly changed the conversation by informing us how there was still one crew member we hadn't met yet. Her name is Dot but she apparently tends to stay in her room a lot.
She was the one who programmed the Rising Voltacklers app and she's also my age as well as Murdock's niece, which got me excited. Friede told us how she may have some intel on where Rayquaza is.
Suddenly, we heard some music coming from a room we assumed was hers. And I also recognised that the song playing was Nidothing's background music so I rushed over to the door.
The music then stopped so I decided to knock on the door. We got no answer so Roy tried shouting and by doing that, a Quaxly suddenly came from the flag on the door with a paper not attached to it.
Roy picked up the note and we found that on it was a drawing of him and Fuecoco, although they looked... dead. He said that she was really rude, but I reminded him how we were only new here.
After that, we walked off and I told my friend that maybe we could get Friede to train us, so we asked him. With enough convincing from mainly me and how I doubt myself after all of the Explorers stuff, he agreed.
We all headed out to the battlefield and as soon as the light barrier around us appeared to keep us safe, we were ready. It was going to be me and Roy against Friede, and I was so determined for us to win.
Suddenly, Captain Pikachu began to glow in a blinding golden light which made me have to cover my eyes but I was still able to peak through. Friede told us how there would be a change of plans and rather than battling with his Charizard, we would be facing Cap, and if we managed to land a hit once we would win.
I was so shocked about all of thus, but Roy was still determined and underestimating the ability of the Pikachu, which gave me hope.
After Mollie started up the battle, me and my friend started calling out our first attacks, but ended up failing to hit our opponent's since both of our attacks merged.
Now that we were under pressure from the comments of Orla and Murdock, we then started doing what we did earlier and called put multiple attacks at once, but none of them managed to hit Captain Pikachu.
I then realised at this point that our methods weren't working so we then decided to work together, which was more effective, although Cap managed to escape our grasp. The pokémon then suddenly appeared behind Sprigatito and then when I tried to get my partner to use Scratch, we learnt these were all just decoys, fakes!
We found out that it was using Double Team to create all of these and the fakes started to taunt Sprigatito, causing it to lash out at all of the copies. But as that happened, more Pikachus started to appear.
I tried to scan around and figure out which one was real, but meanwhile my pokémon continued to attack all of them, which then gave me an idea. So with that, I told Roy my plan and we worked together to make all of the Pikachus dissapear.
Just as Sprigatito was about to land an attack on the real one after we had defeated all of the clones, it jumped up. Our two pokémon were ready to attack, but when it landed, they both gave up and fell asleep, which left us in shock.
Mollie then announced that Captain Pikachu was the winner and Friede congratulated it. Both me and Roy were exhausted at that point but only because we had been so close to winning.
Orla walked up to us and reminded us that we did do our best and Murdock announced that it was lunch too, which excited all of us.
The food was so delicious and I also learned that Sprigatito really likes bitter foods, which was really helpful to know.
Once we were finished, me and Roy started discussing about the battle and wondered what we did wrong. But before we could an answer, Friede then informed us it was ti.e for another battle, but this time it was a rematch between my partner and Roy's.
Even though I was nervous, I was still determined. I was waiting for Fuecoco to attack first, but it wouldn't move so we went first. Sprigatito ran up and used Scratch, but the Fire Croc Pokémon, although it dodged.
We learnt a lot from the battle and when Sprigatito suddenly learned a new move put of nowhere, that's what led to us winning the battle.
After it was all over and we thanked Friede and Cap, Roy suddenly got a text from Dot. So with that, we headed down the corridor and to her door.
We were both very scared, but even then, we still knocked on the door anyway. Quaxly then jumped out of the door flap with a new piece of paper.
Roy picked it up and on the piece of paper was a hand drawn map of Paldea with the black Rayquaza hovering over it. He thanked Dot and then ran off.
I thanked her too and walked off slowly, desperately hoping that maybe one day I can properly meet her and we can become friends...
