Day 30. Finale
I walked towards the barricade. My chest piecing with pain. Then Marius saw me.
"Good God, what are you doing?
'Ponine, have you no fear?
Have you seen my beloved?
Why have you come back here?" He sang.
"Took the letter like you said
I met her father at the door" I explained.
"He said he would give it-" cut off, feeling a sharp pain.
"I don't think I can stand anymore"
" Éponine, what's wrong?
There's something wet upon your hair
Éponine, you're hurt
You need some help
Oh, God, it's everywhere!" I saw worry in his face, I realized he really did care for me, and suddenly everything was perfect and I felt no pain. He pulled me into his arms.
"Don't you fret, M'sieur Marius
I don't feel any pain
A little fall of rain
Can hardly hurt me now
You're here, that's all I need to know
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close
And rain will make the flowers grow." As long as he is here, I'd be fine.
"But you will live, 'Ponine - dear God above,
If I could heal your wounds with words of love." He was worried, but I was fine.
"Just hold me now, and let it be.
Shelter me, comfort me" I tried to convince him everything was fine as long as he was with me.
"You would live a hundred years
If I could show you how
I won't desert you now..." He sang.
"The rain can't hurt me now
This rain will wash away what's past
And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close
I'll sleep in your embrace at last.
The rain that brings you here
Is Heaven-blessed!
The skies begin to clear
And I'm at rest
A breath away from where you are
I've come home from so far" Everything was going to be okay.
"So don't you fret, M'sieur Marius" I sang as Marius sang, "Hush-a-bye, dear Eponine,"
"I don't feel any pain" I sang as Marius sang, "You won't feel any pain" I had convinced him.
"A little fall of rain" We sang.
"Can hardly hurt me now" I sang as he sang, "Can hardly hurt you now."
"I'm here" He sang.
"That's all I need to know" I replied.
"And you will keep me safe
And you will keep me close" I sang as he sang, I will stay with you
Till you are sleeping"
"And rain..." I began, feeling weaker, but no pain
"And rain..." Marius repeated.
"Will make the flowers..." I lifted my head to kiss him.
"Will make the flowers..." I heard him sing, before I drifted away.
"grow..." He finished, and he kissed me on my forehead. Though I was dead, I felt it.
A\N I decided to end with a song-shot, I love them. Well its over. I think JasonTheToyMaker67 and kayla6704 should do this challenge if they can. For the last time in this book, Happy Reading!
