Javert  walked the streets. Jean ValJean had gotten away again, and this made Javert angry. Someday he would catch him, someday.

    Suddenly Gavroche walked up behind him and took his hat of his head. Javert spun around grabbed him by the collar.

"You think you can mess with me, kid!" He shouted.

"I could fight you! Never doubt the Little Pup!" Said Gavroche.

"Try me, Kid!" He said.

"Put my him down!" Shouted Éponine from behind.

Javert turned around and put the boy down. Gavroche ran off. 'Ponine gave him a look and turned around.

"You think you are getting away that easily!" Shouted Javert.

   Éponine kept walking. Javert turned around and looked at the stars.
