D-Housing Unit

Cody's POV

Working this housing unit is really starting to suck. I mean I've never worked on a housing unit, where there was no law and order or any type of structure. It's literally like the inmates run the asylum. I mean, in what universe, do you have male and female inmates locked up together? In my opinion, it's unheard of and more importantly, it's highly inappropriate. I can't believe that Warden Heyman allows this to go on here. More than that, these young ladies don't realize how much danger they are in being in such close proximity to these animals. I'm really concerned about  Inmate Carter, from what I've heard, this is her first time being incarcerated and she seems to be very naive and impressionable. Not only that, Anoa'i seems to have total control over her. It's like she follows him around lost little kitten. In my opinion, Anoa'i is nothing more than a manipulative narcissist who fancies himself a cult leader. I mean, it's more than obvious, given the way those two stooges whom he calls his cousins, the Fatu twins, obey his every command.

But as a second generation corrections officer, I don't believe that what's going on is right. Honestly, I think men should be locked up with other men and women locked up with other women. I mean if you commit a crime, then you should accept the punishment given which in this case, is not being able to have access to people of the opposite sex. Well, as long as I'm on duty, I will continue to run a tight ship. And that means not taking any bullshit off of any of these inmates, including Anoa'i. I'm still going to do everything in my power to get these women off the tier before one or more of them end up pregnant.

After sitting and ruminating, I decide to go and let the inmates out of their cells.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen, make your beds and come into the dayroom." I say, as I open their doors from the control room.

As the inmates slowly come out, I notice Anoa'i dragging Carter behind him by her wrist, and orders her to sit at the table by the way he's pointing at it, and as usual, she holds her head down and complies with his commands. I really can't hear what's being said but from the scowl on his face, he's pissed about something and she is trying to explain herself but he won't hear a word of what she's trying to say.

At that moment, I'd had enough of  Anoa'i and his bullying bullshit and came out of the control room and went on to the unit to investigate. Now, policy states that an officer should never go into the dayroom without backup, especially when I was working by myself since that lazy officer Elba called off. But I did anyway, because I'm a corrections officer before anything, and I believe in maintaining law and order.

Meanwhile.....
Joe and Deanna were sitting at the table and as usual Joe was fussing at Dee because she had started to write her fiction again about her favorite celebrity, Jason Momoa and had even drawn pictures of him.....

"Ion understand why you like that fool so much! What's he got that I ain't got?! I know he ain't better looking than me!!" Joe ranted.

"No, babykins, he's not better looking than you. I already told you that I was writing stories about him, before I got locked up! You already knew this!" Dee sighed.

"Well I wasn't your man then either! You got me now!!! Do you be fantasizing about his ass, when we making love?! When I'm making you scream, do you think of him?!!! When I'm hitting it from behind, do you imagine him instead of me?!!!! You have your eyes closed so you can envision him inside you?!!!Huh?!!!" Joe yelled, tilting his head, his voice so loud that the New Day was looking.

"Aye yall let's go back to our cells, we don't need the smoke. I feel some shit bout to jump off!!" Big E said to his cellmates.

"I feel you E." Kofi said.

"Same." Xavier agreed.

"Babykins! Please keep your voice down! You're making a scene!" Deanna whispered, her eyes wide with embarrassment.

"You told me yourself, you'd let him fuck you if given the opportunity!!! Did you or did you not say that?! Huh?! Answer me!!!" Joe snarled.

"He's a celebrity! I'm in prison for the rest of my life!! There is a billion to one chance that I'll even see him in prison, much less sleep with him!! You're so irrational sometimes!!!" Dee said, rolling her eyes and shaking her head.

At that moment, Officer Rhodes appeared at the table.....

"Is there a problem here?" He asked his eyes shifted from Joe to Dee.

"No sir, we are just talking. Babykins just has a loud voice, that's all." Dee explained.

"Babykins?" Officer Rhodes scoffed. "That's your pet name for this joker? Are you ok inmate Carter? Blink twice if you need help."

At that moment, Joe was becoming more and more enraged by the second, his blood continuing to boil.

"Hey top flight security, how bout you mind your fucking business?" Joe sneered.

"Hey cupcake or babykins or whatever it is she calls you, this housing unit is my business. I mean cupcake was your name before the women got here, wasn't it pretty boy? I mean weren't you butt buddies with a couple of the guys in here?" Rhodes taunted, further enraging Joe.

"Officer, everything is fine here, there's no problems honest." Deanna pleaded in an attempt to defuse the situation.

"Inmate Carter, you don't have be afraid. You don't have to let him bully you like he does those other two stooges! By the way, where are those losers at anyway?" Cody asked.

At that moment, Josh and Jon were re-entering the housing unit after being in solitary and heard Cody insult them.

"Aye CO, who da fuck you calling losers Uce?!" Josh snapped.

"Yeah! You betta watch yo fucking mouth!!" Jon chimed in.

Joe stood up slowly and got right in Officer Rhodes' face, his lips still twitching in anger.

"Deanna, go to the cell." Joe said, not taking his eyes off of Rhodes.

"Babykins..." Deanna pleaded.

"Deanna, do what I say." Joe replied.

"Oh so you order her around too? Tell me, Anoa'i, does she give it to you or do you take it by force? Inmate Carter, remember no means no." Cody insinuated, further incensing Joe to the point of violence.

"Officer Rhodes! That's not true!!! I love him!!! He doesn't make me do anything I don't want to do!He doesn't rape me!!!" Deanna argued.

"Sweetheart, this animal doesn't love you. As a matter of fact, none of you lowlifes love these women. Before they came, this was one big circle jerk, one big sausage fest! Now they are women here, you guys use them for sex toys. You animals don't have the capabilities to love!!" Cody yelled.

"Keep talking and I'll have your family killed." Joe said in a low voice.

"You'll what?!" Cody yelled.

"You heard me bitch! My reach goes far and wide." Joe said matter of factly.

"You son of a..." Cody yelled, swinging a punch.

Joe ducked the punch causing Cody to hit Deanna knocking her out.

At that moment, it felt that the air was sucked out of the room and time stood still.

When Joe saw Deanna, the love of his life, knocked out, he immediately saw red.

Joe removed his shirt and cracked his knuckles and neck.

It had begun...war was about to erupt......
