26 - Problem Solving

"What do you think of wolves?" Laika asked Bellamy, picking his brain.

"I've never thought of them, but I hear we're pretty closely related."

"No way. You?" Laika laughed.

He nodded, finding no humour in it, "Yes, Basenjis are a primitive breed."

"You're so small," she said, reiterating.

Bellamy smiled, "Indeed." The saluki sighed, shaking her head as her good posture was overcame with a heavy grief. Bellamy asked, "What is it?"

"I'm not sure what I will do if I get bred. I've never really wanted puppies, much less to a wolf. What if I die during the birth? What if I'm unable to have puppies that big? What if they're vicious?" She shook her head, exasperated, and laid down on the ground with defeat.

"Those are possibilities," Bellamy said simply.

"Gee, thanks."

"What would your solution be to that?"

Laika paused, floppy ears perked and high on her head. A solution? She hadn't even considered it. But here it was, sitting right there beside her. She slowly turned to look at Bellamy, who gave her a tilted, quizzical look. His face had an attractive symmetry, mostly orange with clearly pink inner ears, a wet black nose, and a white stripe from his muzzle to his forehead. Mostly, he was agile, lithe, and small- no more than 20lbs. In build, he was closer to Laika than the wolf was to her, and his size would prove an ally to her if he sired her puppies.

She stared at him, and with confidence, said, "I don't know that we will be able to get out of here before I'm forced to conceive puppies, Bellamy."

"I'll try my best, Laika."

"No, you don't get it. I don't want wolf puppies. If I have them, the sheer size of them could kill me. And then I'd have to raise half-devils... and Afore is a sweet canine... but what if I raise them wrong? With power and strength and speed like that, one wrong move and they'd be warriors, for good or for bad. And I think Castimun Tribe is counting on that fact."

"What are you thinking?" Bellamy asked her as the two laid beside one another, the starry sky overhead.

"Bellamy, would you sire my puppies?"

He seemed taken aback, although it wasn't particularly expressed on his face; his ears perked up, and he stared at Laika for a long time. In the darkness of the night, both of their sets of eyes were black and beady with a single white glint upon their corners.

"I would," Bellamy said, "If you asked me to, Laika. If that would help. If that is your solution."

"I hope it doesn't come down to it," Laika said, concerned, "But I would bet that The Baron intends on more public breedings between me and Afore to insure conception. He knows the chances aren't particularly high with a single time. If I can't decide whether or not I have pups, Bellamy, I'd at least like to decide who I have them with, and I don't want it to be with Afore, even as much as I like him."

Bellamy nodded, understanding well, "I'm sorry for your circumstances, Laika."

"It's alright. I'll be okay, and I'll escape. But it might not be before I get pregnant. So now, I need your help." She wasn't sure what the little rascal would've looked like flustered, but his large, tall ears tipped back, and his muzzle seemed redder.

"Right now?" He confirmed.

"Yes, yes. Before the morning! And before Afore wakes up. In the dark, the guards shouldn't notice, as long as we are silent."

"Is this what you want, Laika?"

Exasperatedly, "Yes, I've told you." She rolled her eyes.

"I don't want to do this," Bellamy admitted, "But I fear you may be right. I don't think wolf-puppies will be good for anyone. We can't let Castimun Tribe have that power."

Laika thought for a moment, then said, "Is that why you're helping me? You want to help Afore get out of here too, in order to keep his power from being used by Castimun Tribe?"

"Partially," Bellamy nodded, impressed, "But also because you two are innocent right now. If you stay here much longer, you might not be. You deserve a better fate. Every canine does."

Laika sighed, staring for a while. She couldn't seem to do anything but stare at the little dog with a sense of awe. She liked him, quite so, and appreciated greatly his mind and his genuinity. He was so unlike Afore in every way. He wasn't brash or angry or harsh; rather, Bellamy was calm, collected, and very reasonable. Laika knew already that she had just made a very powerful ally— possibly one even more powerful than Afore.

This being said, she turned her thinking gaze to Afore's sleeping self, and filled with warmth. She did appreciate him, too, and very much so. They'd had some good times, hadn't they? Even despite the atrocity of their journey so far. And Afore had been a great friend.

"Do you love him?" Bellamy asked, noticing the warmth of her stare. Laika was taken aback by this question, and a little flustered.

"I'm not sure," she admitted. "I think I might do, but his recent submissiveness to this tribe has me questioning everything. Sometimes, he terrifies me."

Bellamy nodded, considering, "It may be as you said that his spirit is broken. And he is a wolf, after all."

Laika growled at him, "That doesn't mean anything."

"Yes, it does. He might be a good soul, but he's still the strength of a wolf and the mental wiring of a wolf. There's nothing wrong with that, Laika. Different doesn't mean wrong."

She let his words sink into her skin in silence for a gentle moment. Then, she remembered the task at hand, and abruptly sat up, "Bellamy."

"Yes?"

"It's now or never."

Determined, he nodded, "Alright, Laika."

"Since you're so short," Laika said, "I can lay down for you. That way, the guards won't notice..." Bellamy nodded, agreeing. Laika laid down on her stomach in the dirt with her front legs long in front of her, swishing her feathery tail to the side. "We have to be quick," she said, "And we have to do this as many times as possible."

"Why so?"

"I have to get pregnant," she said tightly, "So we have to make it beyond a doubt." Laika's mind raced; was she really going to breed with a random male she'd just met? She shook her head. Even if he wasn't who she thought him to be, his puppies would be smaller and safer. That was the important thing.

Bellamy followed Laika's lead with precise, calculated movements, walking to her rear and laying atop of her. Slowly, he pressed his sheath to the black wet of her vulva. It was the shape of a raindrop, and swollen nearly shut. The thick lips of it rolled over Bellamy's length as it grew, peaking from its fuzzy sheath and pushing inside of her. Laika made no noise and kept entirely still; she had to be discreet. Bellamy was much smaller than Afore had been, and she was grateful for it, as there was not any pain. Bellamy was a nicely snug fit, and began to mount her quickly. Although he felt pleasure, he didn't seem to enjoy it; he was doing it as a favour and out of commitment. Laika, on the other side, enjoyed it greatly, tongue lolled and eyes staring up at the stars. The stars reflected within them as she felt electric pulses run through her body as the little male humped her.

He did so with speed and careful precision, and it was quite pleasurable for both parties involved. It wasn't long before he pushed against her haunches and came deeply within her, filling her. His knot popped into her, and then remained stuck there. He laid on top of her lower back for a while, catching his breath in heaves as silently as he could.

"First time?" Laika asked in a whisper.

"Yes," he said, breathless.

"You're quite good."

"Thank you."

"Now... again."

"We're still tied."

Laika growled, "I said, again. We don't have any time to waste, and we have to be certain!"

"Okay," Bellamy said, sitting up and flexing his body again, gripping her with his front paws and preparing to go again. He sighed, determined, and then began pumping once again; being stuck with his knot within her, he could hardly move, but he smacked into her rear repeatedly and it was enough to get him going. Being overly sensitive now, it didn't take long for the eruption of sensation to overwhelm him, and he spurted hot liquid inside of her once again. It ran from her thick, shining vulva to ground. Her vilva's puffy lips suckled him, holding him in place with tension.

"Again," she demanded, "You have to breed me." Though exhausted, Bellamy understood why, and obeyed again, using the last of his strength in following her orders. Still knotted, he pounded into her again, and again, and again, as vigourously as his small body could take. Finally, he finished within her a third time, his whole body tensing, sputtering liquid and gritting his teeth. "Don't fucking stop," Laika hissed. This time, there was an edge of something else in her voice, almost like desperation or pleasure. Bellamy did so obediently.

He mounted her again and again, his body aching and his little bit sore; he knew, then, as Laika tightened around him, tensing her body, her tail wagging slightly, that she was close. She dug her claws into the dirt, clenching her jaw and groaning quietly as he rammed into her. Then, at last, as Bellamy thrusted into her repeatedly and with strong energy came within her, she tensed, released a soft moan, and finished, too. Liquid pooled beneath the two, and Bellamy, exhausted, collapsed upon Laika's lower back again.

"Satisfied?" He asked.

With a drawl, Laika responded, "Very."

"Are you excited to have pups?" He asked.

"I never saw myself as a mother," she admitted, "But the idea of it intrigues me now that I'm here. Are you excited to be a dad?"

Bellamy hadn't considered it.

"Not particularly," he said.

Laika chuckled. She quite liked Bellamy.
