CH10: The Autumn Festival
Whoop. Been a minute since I updated this. Definitely going to update it more frequently though.
Enjoy!
-------
Y/N: So, what next?
Hasuki: That one right there! That plush looks so cute!
Y/N: Alrighty then.
I held Hasuki's hand tightly as we both made our way through the crowd of students. It was loud, as the area was filled with screams, cries, and laughter due to it being a festival and all. You're probably wondering when Hasuki and I achieved hand holding status. It's fucking lewd, I know. But I never said this story was family-friendly.
(Flashback!)
We both sat in the library, doing homework. We were at it for about an hour before I popped up the question. It had to be just right.
Y/N: What did you get for five?
Hasuki: 29.3
Y/N: 7?
Hasuki: False.
Y/N: Do you wanna go to the festival next week?
Hasuki: Of course.
It was pretty easy to be honest.
Hasuki: Ah. Wait a minute!
Y/N: Oh? So that's a no?
Hasuki: N-No. I mean, yes but no. Well yes, but actually no.
That went on for a good minute. Needless to say, she calmed down and I asked her somewhat formally.
(Flashback End)
Y/N: You...are really good at these.
Hasuki: Right? I've always gone to festivals with Inudzuka since we were kids, so I've gotten pretty good at it.
I mentally curse. She's been talking about Inudzuka way too often for my liking. I mean, I know there childhood friends and everything, but still! This is a date! I don't want to hear about the guy who she used to have a crush on!
Hasuki: You okay?
Y/N: Yeah, just thinking.
Hasuki laughed, much to my confusion.
Hasuki: Arent we going to do that lantern thing? We should head over so we can get a good spot.
Y/N: That so? Alright. But we can take our time. I know a spot that nobody else knows about.
I stand up from the bench we sat at, taking Hasuki's hand to help her up.
Hasuki: So where is this secret spot?
Y/N: A secret.
As we weaved through the crowd, I stopped near an area a bit away from most people waiting for the lanterns to start flying. It was a rocky hill that was maybe twice my height.
Y/N: Hm. You can't really climb with that on. Here.
I crouch, allowing Hasuki to get on my back. She seems pretty reluctant.
Hasuki: Uh, are you sure about this?
Y/N: Of course. I came here to get away from the class when we came to this festival as kids. The view is amazing.
Hasuki sighed, wrapping her arms around me.
Hasuki: Fine, I just don't want you dropping me
I chuckle as I stand up, starting to climb the rock. It was easy, as I planned for this and came early to carve out some footholds in the surface of the rock.
Hasuki: I'm not too heavy, am I?
Y/N: Well, nothing I can't handle. Besides, I can't climb slow purposely and enjoy this wonderful sensation on my back if you were.
I feel her arms tighten around my neck a bit too much for my liking.
Hasuki: Hurry it up.
Y/N: Yes ma'am.
A quickened my face, and we soon made it to the top if the small boulder.
Hasuki's eyes widened at the sight. At the top was a nice F/C blanket. Hasuki climbed off me, sitting down so we could watch the fireworks.
Hasuki: Y'know, you may not look it, but you're quite the romantic.
I chuckle a bit, starting at the horizon.
Y/N: I'd say the opposite. I'm so bad at romance that I study it like an academic subject. Such romantic gestures I usually spend days planning.
It was quite for a bit. Did I say something weird?
Y/N: Sorry, that was a weird thing to say. I'm just some guy who is horrible at socializing to the point were I have to scheme like some-
Hasuki: That's not true!
I was cut off my Hasuki's raised voice, making me turn away from the horizon, looking into her eyes. She grabbed my left hand holding it gently between her fingers.
YN: W-What-
Hasuki: You've always been there for me Y/N! Before I started liking Inudzuka! Before everything! That's why I can say with all of my heart that you are one of the nicest people I know!
Y/N: H-How-
Hasuki: You always do your best to protect and support your friends! You ran in a cast cause of a silly promise! Everything you've done for me and everyone else is because you care! Because your kind! That's the Y/N that I love more than anything!
Y/N:...
I...was at a loss for words. For the first time in a while, I don't know what to say. But... I know how I feel.
All those thoughts I had...I push them aside. Smart or not, I need to say this.
Y/N: I...hated, Inudzuka for the longest time. You were my only friend, the only one who ever showed me a sliver of kindness back home when we were younger. You were special to me, precious. But he came along and in the blink of an eye I was kind again. I did...things. Things to this day I still don't regret. But everything I ever did was because I thought it was something that would prove that I was someone who was worthy of your love.
This release...it feels good.
Y/N: I don't know if you can still call that kind. I'd call it selfish, in my opinion. But I want to be someone worthy of the kindness you showed me back then. So please...don't confuse the Y/N I want to be with the one I am now.
I feel her let go of my hands. Guess I blew it huh?
Her hands go from my wrists, to my shoulders, and I feel her pull me close. Before I can react, her lips lock with mine.
I hear something. I don't know if it's the sounds of distant cheering or my heartbeat, but I know I don't want it to end.
So I kiss back.
I wrap my arms around her, deepening the kiss. We go at it for another minute or so. Hasuki immediately puts her flushing face in my chest.
Hasuki: Sorry. Y-You were speaking honestly and I did something like this!
Y/N: N-Nah, I enjoyed it. It was nice.
Hasuki: I just, didn't know what to say, and I thought, "what would Inudzuka do?"
I feel something inside me snap. I push Hasuki out of my chest, laying her on the blanket. Her hair which she had all tied up unraveled, laying across it.
Hasuki: A-Ah!
Y/N: This is our moment. Something that we both shared. Don't bring Inudzuka into this.
Hasuki pouted. Her blushing face was only highlighted by the light the lanterns gave off.
Hasuki: You don't have to worry about proving to yourself that you're worthy of my love. I love you because your you, worthy or not. So just stop thinking about stuff like that, and focus it on...
She stopped mid-sentence.
Hasuki: F-Focus it on...l-loving me.
I felt something else snap within me. Her blushing face, along with such words. It makes me want to love her more than ever.
I bring my lips to her neck, kissing it slightly.
Hasuki: G-Gah! Hey!
I suck slightly, leaving a slight mark. I do this maybe one or two more times, not paying attention to Hasuki's cries of embarrassment.
I noticed I unconsciously put my hand on her chest. I move it, though I feel her grab my wrist.
Hasuki: Y-You doesn't have to stop.
She turned her face towards the crowd of lanterns. Though it only made her blushing face more apparent.
[???: Attention everyone! The closing ceremony has ended. The festival will end in 20 minutes, so please prepare for your departure. Students at Dahlia Academy, please be mindful of your curfew! Thank you for coming!
Hasuki and I look each other in the eye, before bursting out laughing.
Y/N: We got so caught up we forgot about lighting the lanterns!
Hasuki: Ahaha!
We keep laughing, but still don't move. My hand is still on her chest.
Y/N: I guess we should head back, right?
Hasuki: Y-Yeah.
Before I remove my hand, I make sure to memorize this feeling. I give it a good few gropes and rubs before I pull it away, much to Hasuki's embarrassment.
We both get ourselves together as I roll up the blanket. We head down and head to the dorm, laughing along the way.
Today is something I'll never forget, that's for sure.
(Meanwhile)
Perusia: Why do I always catch them like this!
Char: This isn't the first time!?
Both Perusia and Char stood behind the rocks Y/N and Hasuki sat on. As the lovebirds walked by the two, Y/N gave a look towards them that screamed: "Don't speak of this or else."
Hasuki: What are you looking at?
Y/N: Nothing. Just thought I heard something. Wanna stop for some ice cream on the way back?
Hasuki: Is that even a question?
Perusia and Char sighed as the two were out of earshot.
Perusia: We should head back as well.
Char: Agreed. Though what should we do about the idiot?
The two looked down at a passed out Inudzuka. Perucia had hit him out of panic when Y/N started talking about him.
Perusia: Help me drag him close to town. We can get some water or something.
Char: Alright. Though I'll be sure to charge him for the work fee.
