Chapter 14 - Christmas
December 24, 2014
It was Louis's birthday, and he had come from Britain to Australia and brought the other One Direction boys, Paris, and Audrey (Liam's girlfriend). It was the opposite of Michael's birthday. Michael, the other 5sos boys, and I went to Britain for Michael's birthday, but everyone came to Australia for Louis's. They were going to spend Christmas here too.
When Louis arrived, he came right to my house from the airport. I heard footsteps up the stairs of my house after I heard him saying hello to my parents.
Louis entered my room, and I was sitting in my bed, just about ready to cry. I stood up and hugged Louis.
"So is it true?" He asked. I nodded, letting the tears flow.
"It's okay, Kitten.. You'll be alright," he comforted, rubbing my back and kissing my forehead.
"I don't know what I'll do if they're yours and Michael finds out. He'll be crushed," I cried onto Louis's shoulder.
"Whatever happens, we'll get through it, okay? You got that? I'll be here for you the whole time. If the babies are mine, I'll be here for you. If the babies aren't mine, I'll be here for you. It doesn't matter what happens. I'll help you with whatever you need. Supplies for the nursery? You've got it. Help babysitting? I'll babysit. You name it, I'll help."
"Louis, you understand that if you're the dad you will be there, but if Michael's the dad, he'll be there, and I won't need as much of your help."
"That's true, but if you ever need help of any kind, let me know. Have you told your parents yet?"
"No.. Michael and I are telling our parents tomorrow. I'm so scared. Michael is really happy, and I wouldn't want to crush him if the babies are yours. And I'm happy, but I'm worried about whose babies they are. I really wish I could find out."
"I guess you could get a DNA test, but they might not be able to do that if you're still pregnant. They could do a DNA test after they're born."
"But I want to know before they're born," I pouted, "It doesn't matter. I'll be okay. Thank you so much for your help and support, Louis," I smiled.
"You're welcome, Kitten," he kissed my forehead, then got onto his knees and kissed my stomach twice.
"I'm still shocked at the fact that those two small human beings could be my creations," he smiled, standing up.
"I know. It's hard to believe that I'm not just one person now. I'm carrying two extra humans in my stomach, and I will be for the next seven or more months."
"It's amazing, though."
"It really is," I nodded in agreement.
Louis soon left after that, and I went to Luke's house for a small party that night with everyone there to celebrate Louis's 23rd birthday. Everything had changed since I had found out I was pregnant. My mind was completely different and my body would soon be completely different. I was not looking forward to it, but I wasn't very worried thanks to Louis's talk earlier that day.
------
The next morning, I walked downstairs to see my younger siblings—Daniel (17), Ruby (16), and Joshua (13)—sitting in the living room waiting for Mum and Dad to come down so we could open presents.
Michael was coming over in the morning so we could tell my parents, then we'd tell his parents in the evening when we went to is house to open presents.
My mum had come down the stairs and walked into the living room, saying "Merry Christmas!" to everyone. I then heard a knock at the door before Michael walked in.
"Hey, Merry Christmas, baby," he smiled, hugging me, then whispering in my ear, "and babies."
"This is our last Christmas without them," he pointed out, quietly speaking to me. I nodded, thinking many different things.
"Are we ready to announce?" He wondered. I shook my head, "My dad isn't awake yet."
"What we're you saying about me?" Dad came from the stairs, laughing. He hugged Michael, "Hey! Michael! You're joining us this morning?"
"I am," he nodded. My dad motioned us into the living room. I sat down on the couch, and Michael sat below me, in front of me. My youngest sibling Joshua began to open his presents. We moved onto Ruby after him, then Daniel. Michael opened small presents from my parents, then I opened mine. My parents had a gift from each of the kids the family, and even Michael got them gifts.
After everyone had finished, Mum began to stand up to go get breakfast ready. I told her to sit down because we had one more gift. Michael got out the bag assigned to each person. Dad, Mum, Daniel, Ruby, and Joshua all got one bag from us. We told them to open the bags at the same time.
When they opened the bags, they saw shirts in the bags. Mum's said, ,"Great Mothers get promoted to Grandmothers". Dad's said, "Great Fathers get promoted to Grandfathers". Daniel's said, "I'm the favorite uncle". Ruby's said, "World's Best Aunt". Finally, Joshua's said, "#1 Uncle". They all sat there in silence for a moment. Mum was the first to gasp, understanding what the shirts meant.
"We're pregnant.. with twins," I announced to all of them. Daniel was really excited. He and I were always close. Ruby and Joshua were pretty excited too. Mum and Dad didn't seem to like the idea too much.
"You're pregnant? Before you're married?" Mum scowled.
"Yes," I answered in a small voice.
She shook her head as if to erase her thoughts, "You two are both adults, and I should let you do what you want." She sighed, "I'm not happy with your choices, but I am excited to have two granddaughters, two grandsons, or a granddaughter and a grandson."
"I couldn't sum it up any more perfect," Dad smiled.
Telling Michael's parents was the same, but their initial reaction was better than my parents' reactions were. They seemed a lot more excited to have grandkids, if they were theirs, but they didn't know about that part, and it would stay that way.
