Crimson Vomit

   Every single sound was like a hammer to the skull, even the ones that would normally be soft as a feather drifting to the ground. A boy held his head in his hands, tears building up in his eyes from pain. The sound of the door ,leading to his bedroom, opened, causing the boy to flinch. "Daniel, dinner's r- are you okay," his mother asked softly, even though it seemed like shouting to him.

    "L-leave me alone!" The boy exclaimed, covering his ears as a rogue tear slipped down his face. A hand brushed his shoulder, causing the boy to yank his shoulder away from near his mother.

   "Dan-"

    "Leave me alone!" He interrupted while trying to get away from his mother. Cool air filled his lungs as he took a deep breath, trying to not yell too much at his mother. She looked at him with concern filled in her eyes as she stood in the same spot for a few moments before she went out of her son's room, gently closing the door behind him. When the click of the door settling into its place was heard, Daniel let the tears that had built up escape from his eyes. Everything was getting to him, everything ached, everything was so...loud and he didn't know why. The saliva in his mouth started tasting more sour and came faster as he began to feel nauseous. He ran over to the trash can in the same room and vomited. 'What's happening to me,' he thought as he wiped his mouth trying to get rid of the traces of the vomit.
=====================================================================
   It was a month later since simple noises became excruciatingly painful and he often would vomit. He was currently lying in his bed, groaning from pain. Every part of him ached and he still hadn't figured out why. He was feeling nauseous again, but tried to ignore it. Before long though he leant over the bed and vomited, missing the trash can. He groaned and was about to attempt to call for his mother with his hoarse voice but before he could, he noticed his vomit was red, blood red. Before he could do anything else, he passed out.

  When he woke up, he was in a hospital bed. Everything was spinning and he could see bloody, grinning faces near him. He screamed as one of the bloodiest, grinning people neared him while speaking, "he's waking up, he should be fine. Don't worry, just make sure he takes his medication. We're going to keep him overnight to make sure he'll be in stable conditions, but I'm sure he will be." Daniel's teary eyes were wide as he tried to get away from the bloody figure smiling eerily.

   "Okay...make sure he'll be fine...he's my sweet boy and I don't know what I would do without him..." A more femine bloody figure said. The first bloody figure made sure to contact a nurse before he escorted the woman out while telling her what she needs to do. As soon as the door clicked shut, Daniel attempted to unhook the machines from him without success. He soon bent over the bed, vomiting a crimson substance. He coughed, blood flying out of his mouth when he finished. His eyes flashed crimson before being gone as quickly as it came. Daniel let out a loud, long groan before vomiting again. It was now more of a mix between liquid and mucus. Tears brimmed his eyes, threatening to escape and fall down his pale face. Everything was growing distant from him, the shapes, the bloody smiling people, the noises of the machines. He went limp a few seconds before a nurse walked in. Seeing him limp in a position that a person wouldn't sleep in, she rushed over to him to check the machines. The heart monitor beeped loudly, warning anyone nearby that the person it was attached to heart's was slowing down too much. The nurse frantically tried to help him, but his heart went out before she could.

   She called for someone to bring an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to try to revive the young lad. When it got there and was ready for use, she shocked him with it. His body jolted up a little and his heart beat once before going still again. When the machine was ready to shock again, she shocked him again only to get the same result as last time. She tried a couple more times without success, so she gave up. The doctor then walked into the room, seeing that he was too late to help.
