Artificial Intelligence

It started with only a few robots going haywire, which were simply passed as faulty wiring. It grew from one robot, to five, ten, and so on. People tried to pass if off with random excuses they could think of. It didn't matter if it was a logical answer that supported the claim or not, they said it. A few people, including me, knew it was the start of something greater. We didn't trust them too much, even if we did own devices like phones or those robotic assistants. Unlike other people, we tried to not leak too personal information about ourselves where they could hear it. So, most of the time we kept to ourselves. Some of the people tried their hardest to make an impact but with me being only seventeen, I wasn't able to help much quite yet. But I would when I am legally of age.

Recently hu-people have made more human-like robots where they can think, act, and look human. It really tricks people often, which is useful for the governments needs (the reason why they came out with them). Governments wanted people's information and they were determined to get it, no matter the cost. Which of course had led to the Artificial Intelligence Revolution, or also known as the AI Revolution. The Artificial Intelligence Revolution has been going on for ten years now, artificial intelligence winning. Yet, people kept relying on their devices like it wasn't happening. It was remarkable how much they relied on them.

I went on my cell phone sometimes, but I mostly relied on other things. Such as instead of a book that is able to be read online, I would read the paper copy of it. It's just how it's always been for me. Actually being able to experience the place in person, rather than seeing it online seemed like a better option. Of course there were the cons of not being super techo, I tend to be behind on trends and left clueless when people talked about certain things. What I mostly used the internet for was to listen to music, music is like its own beautiful, unique language. I loved everything about it, well almost. There were few people who weren't that good and certain things I didn't prefer, but I lived with it. I constantly had a tune in my head, and sometimes my parents would question me when I hummed it.

But back to the present, currently the fighting was getting rather close to my house, too close for my liking. My parents tried to keep me safe, making sure I stayed away from windows and other things that could shatter that were near the exterior of the house, killing me. I didn't fight them, they knew what was best for me. My hand twitched as I started to reach for the curtains leading to the outside life. I pulled my hand back quickly before I could pull it open, fearful of what could happen if it went wrong. I sighed and backed away from the window. I paused for a minute where I was, before I moved back towards the window. I moved my shaky hand towards the curtain, pulled it away, and looked outside.

Suddenly the glass shattered as a bullet shot into it, making the shattered glass fall on top of me and the bullet lodged itself into my right shoulder. I couldn't feel any pain, there was no blood. I looked down at my wounds, pulling glass out of my skin but finding it difficult to. When the glass was removed, Metal and wires were revealed under my human-like skin. I gasped, staring at my skin. I then picked up a piece of glass, curiously, and sliced my arm with it. I made a good sized cut, a lot like a dissecting cut, peeled some of the skin back and saw machinery in it. So I wasn't human after all, I w-was one of- Alexa.ais Memory Wiping...Memory Wiped...Shutting Down.
