well crap, i didn't mean for this to happen, i know what's happening, but really? now?

it's that face, the way he smiles at me, i've never been looked at like that before, i can't tell if it's just his kindness or if he's actually making my insides turn to jelly on purpose.

the feeling he spreads is contagious, it. asked me want to dance around the room and listen to pretty music and feel all pretty.

now? why now? i need to focus on my schooling.

my best friend, abby, turns to me pointing to the clarinet section. "see that girl right there, i think she has a crush on you." abby says. "whenever you walk by she smiles, and i never see her smile."

we have one more class together, and we sit next to each other so i decided to tell her then.

"hi" i said to her, like usual, and like usual she smiles and said 'hello'

i leaned into her ear and told her something i've been thinking for a while.
"you're really pretty" i whisper.

she laughed and her smile grew bigger than i've ever see.
her friend who sits to the other side of her whispers to her "i think he likes you."
and boy was she right.
