“Everyone’s ready to receive their diploma?”

All the students cheered as Professor Kim asks the whole class. He laughs, “Everyone, you did a great job in doing your documentary project. You can post it online to gain more recognition and to share what you did, okay? I am proud of you guys, you really nailed everything! And now unfortunately among almost 30 students that did their project, only three got recognized by big entertainment.”

There are claps and whistle got heard after that announcement. Beomgyu glanced at Soobin who’s just intently listening. He smiles at the back of his head; he knows his friend’s work is going to get announced.

“Top three we have “Down The Streets of Itaewon” directed by Skyler Cua. EN Broadcast company will feature your work,” the first announcement and everyone applauses. “The topic was passed by Choi Soobin.”

“Next, top two we have “Rites of Forest” directed by Choi Beomgyu. SSR Entertainment will adopt your documentary as a thriller movie with you as a co-producer,” the second announcement. Beomgyu gasps and Soobin thumbs up at him. “Topic was passed by Skyler Uy.”

“Wow,” Beomgyu reacted. “Co-producer? Me?” he asks in surprise while pointing at himself.

“Congratulations, dumbfuck,” Soobin chuckles and gently tap his shoulder.

“And our top one is “Behind Pleasure: A Life Documentary of a Pornstar” directed by Choi Soobin. Dreamcase will exclusively buy your project, full revenue with sponsors also with partnership of Blue Hour Entertainment and MOA Productions which is known to globally promote exclusive entertainments. Also, BHE is already waiting for your resume to make you a formal employee,” the professor announces and everyone shouted in praise and applauses Soobin for that achievement. “Topic was passed by Choi Beomgyu.”

Soobin stands up and bows, “Thank you so much, Professor Kim!” he expressed.

“Good job, Soobin and to all students! I am proud of you everyone!”

“Whoa! Look! My hands are still shaking!” Soobin reacted while looking at his hands.

Beomgyu laughs and hangs his arm on Soobin’s shoulder. “You deserve it, assface,” he greets. “Should we have ice cream later?” he invited.

“Oh,” Soobin stops. “I still have my sessions. Wait for me at home,” Soobin replied.

“Are you really okay going alone?” Beomgyu asks in worried.

“Yep-yap! I’ll be fine! Don’t worry,” Soobin assures and smiles. “See you later!”

Beomgyu sights Soobin who’s happily walking away from him. He smiles and breaths out heavily. “He’ll be fine,” he muttered. He decided to walk on his way when he froze as he saw Taehyun waiting for him.

“How is Soobin right now, hmm? Feeling better?” Dr. Kwon asks, smiles widely.

“Yes! Dr. Kwon, my project got by three companies! I’m really happy! Whoa! I can’t belive it!” Soobin expressed, joy is vivid in his eyes.

Dr. Kwon chuckles, “Really!? Then I have a gift for you because of that!” he matches Soobin’s energy and pulled his drawer to get something and lend it to Soobin. “Chocolate?”

“Wow! Thank you so much, Doc!” Soobin happily receives the chocobar. “Thank you so much… to everything, doc…” he smiles. “Actually, that project… he’s the main subject, right? Everything started because of it. There’s something inside me that wanted to tell him about how successful the project is… but there’s also something inside me that I shouldn’t be thinking about it anymore…” Soobin looks down.

“Soobin, do you know Dr. Choi? He’s one of the best psychiatrists in HYBE MU,” Dr. Kwon started. “Beomgyu looked for him in here because he really handles patients so well. Dr. Choi isn’t around anymore because he chooses to get out from his comfort place,” he shared.

“Where is he now? Why did he leave the hospital?” Soobin curiously asks.

“Dr. Choi’s closest friend passed away and he decided to file a resignation letter and transfer to a special facility,” he answered. “The point is Dr. Choi accepted the challenge to focus on himself by getting out of the place where he should be— where everything reminds him of his friend. Dr. Choi was brave enough to take a leap of faith that he will be better without the excess baggage that he has,” he stated with a smile.

Dr. Kwon continues, “That’s why Soobin, don’t be afraid to try things that you haven’t tried before and don’t dwell in the place you aren’t safe and at peace, okay? Forget about that person and know your self once again,” he smiles.

Soobin purses his lips while looking at the chocobar that Dr. Kwon gave him. “Right… I deserve to be loved and taken care of… Not to get hurt for being so delusional.”

“Soobin! Wake up! Let’s go!” Beomgyu shakes the hell of Soobin just so he can get up.

Soobin did a little scratches with his eyes, “Where are we going again?” he asks and yawns like a kid.

“We’re going for camping, son of a bitch! We should experience nature before everything will go toxic again because after we graduate, we’re going to work right away,” Beomgyu answered while checking all their things.

“Ah right,” Soobin uninterestedly answers and gets up. “I’ll just take a bath first.”

“Faster you snail!”

Beomgyu parked his cart at the parking space and they presented their registration card together with the other hikers. They hiked for almost 4-hour long and all they did is bicker during the whole time, disturbing the other hikers.

“Fuck,” Soobin cursed and dropped his bag. “I’m not gonna do this shit again with you, Choi Beomgyu. I swear to God,” he regretted in between his breaths.

“Don’t blame me if you lack fucking exercise, slug,” Beomgyu shots back and Soobin glared at him.

They started to build their tent and did their campfire. They also started grilling some meat while fighting over if it’s cooked or not yet. Another sign that things are getting better. Choi Beomgyu prefers they are cursing each other rather than he can’t curse a single thing to Soobin.

“This is nice,” Soobin breathes out while playing with a long twig as they face their bonfire.

“See, you like it. You’re just lazy to move,” Beomgyu stated and took out some chips. “Is your jacket enough? Do you want more?” he asked.

“I’m fine,” Soobin replied and eat some of the chips. “Beomgyu, should we date each other?” he asked.

“I don’t like you,” Beomgyu quickly rejected Soobin and munch his food.

Soobin nods, “Right,” he affirms and eats as well. “Why?” he asked.

“Just,” Beomgyu shrugged his shoulders.

“We already fucked though?”

“When!?” Beomgyu frowns and judgingly look at Soobin in disgust and it hit him. “Ah right… yeah,” he rolled his eyes as he remember his lies.

“So…”

“No.”

“Tsk!” Soobin rolled his eyes as well and continue eating. “By the way, I’m sorry.”

“For?”

“Taehyun… and you.”

“We’re good. We actually already talked and yeah, closure and shits then we parted ways,” he answered.

Soobin looks at his friend who’s staring at the fire. “But you like him, right?”

“Yeah I do,” Beomgyu nods. “But if he can’t understand a simple situation like that then how much more the bigger issues? I can’t stay with someone who sees my friend as a competitor or something,” he answered.

“Can’t blame him… Because he really saw how you took care of me,” Soobin pouted and sighs.

“Why not?” Beomgyu frowns. “Why? In daily basis do I pamper you like a kid? No. I even throw you out and we do karate every fucking time. That’s the only time you needed a comfort and as a friend I should do it. He’s just unlucky he arrived at the moment when you needed me the most,” Beomgyu explained and sighs.

“Thank you…”

Beomgyu look at Soobin that is smiling from ear to ear and with dimples. “Why are you being like that? You’re scaring me…”

“Hey!” Soobin changes to glaring. “I’m just thankful that you’re with me. That you’re taking care of me even if we’re already adults.”

“Did you know? I realized that adults need to be taken care of the most. They are potent to pain. They hid their feelings that are making them vulnerable. Adults are the one who cries the most inside unlike kids who cries so loud and can be heard… adults are scared to get heard. That’s why adults like us are ones who needs comforts.”

Soobin smiles and went to Beomgyu to hug him tight. “Thank you, my best friend in the whole fucking world!” he shouted joy.

“Hey! Are you going to ruin my fucking eardrum!?” Beomgyu frowns.

“I love you too!” Soobin expressed and they both laugh and he received a forehead kiss from Beomgyu. “I’m so lucky to have you, Beomgyu. Thank you so much.”

THREE YEARS LATER

“Producer Choi! Congratulations on your new movie with Director Kang!”

Soobin smiles, “Thank you so much, producer Park!”

At the young age, Soobin managed to produce couple of blockbuster movies and series even it’s only his third year at the film industry. Choi Beomgyu on the other hand, got an offer about music production as he went viral due to his own produced music that he sang and posted online. Kang Taehyun is now teaching as a Science high school teacher in his province. Hueningkai already retired in the porn industry and tried different jobs instead; currently he’s working at a clothing factory. Choi Yeonjun hasn’t seen inside three years, no one knows where he really is.

Beomgyu and Soobin still live in the same condo unit but they moved in a nearer to their workplace. It’s eight in the evening when Soobin decided to buy a cake because it’s Beomgyu’s birthday.

“Strawberry one, please,” Soobin said with smiles.

“What should I buy…” Soobin heard an elementary pupil beside him thinks about what he’s going to buy. The pupil suddenly look at him, “Mr., can you pick one for me?”

“Huh? Ah… Choco?” Soobin replied to the young girl.

“Choco?” she repeated and pouted. “Dad, doesn’t really like sweets though?” she reckon.

“How about blueberry?” Soobin suggested again.

“Oh!” she acted surprise and smiles. “Right! I’ll get it. One blueberry please!” she said to the attender.

“Do you want a birthday card?” the lady asked the pupil.

“Yes, please! Ah can you please make it faster? My dad will—”

“Choi Yeon Ah.”

The little girl smiles bitterly at the lady in front, “Ah nevermind. He’s already here,” she said and turned around. “Hi!”

Soobin laughs at the girl’s reaction so he turned around to see her dad but he gasps when he saw who’s standing at the entrance. His heart suddenly started beating so fast and his hands shakes.

“What did you buy, huh? This kid,” the father scolded his daughter.

“It’s blueberry!” Yeon Ah replied and pouted. “Mr. Blonde Tall, suggested it,” she replied and pointed at Soobin.

“What did—” the father stops from talking when he noticed how Soobin intently look at him. “Soobin…”

“Choi Yeonjun… It’s been a while… So you have a kid now.”
