Never Again (Part 3)
(The Doctor’s POV: )
I flew back, away from Cetra. I saw her scream and begin to come after me. I got cut and scratched from the branches and the hands tightened around me, squeezing the air from my lungs. A horrible wheezing sound came from behind me. I assumed it was the Slender Man laughing.
(Cetra’s POV: )
I ran straight into the trees, branches scratching my face, arms and legs. I cried and screamed as I ran after the Doctor, quickly losing him. I continued running even though he was long gone. I finally fell down next to a large boulder. I cried and screamed from anger and stood back up weakly. I looked around, hoping to possibly see the TARDIS. Nothing. My eyes past the boulder. Something caught my eye. I rubbed my eyes, hoping to see better. I saw the final note. I sprinted over and grabbed it off. Someone screamed. A high-pitched, nasally, horrible scream of defeat. I looked back down at the note.
“You have won” was all it said. I stuffed it in my bag and began running towards the scream.
(The Doctor’s POV: )
The Slender Man stopped moving and held me in front of its eyeless face. If it could’ve, it would’ve been smiling. I struggled against the long fingers penetrating the skin on my torso. My air was also being squeezed out as he held me high above the ground. His torso split open, letting the way for the eight tentacles that once again barrelled towards me. They wrapped themselves around my body and face, drawing me in closer. I closed my eyes and prepared myself. All of a sudden he screamed. A horrible, terror-filled scream of defeat. The tentacles unbound themselves and I fell to the ground, barely conscious. I watched the Slender Man run into the forest. Someone came through behind me, opposite of the way he went, and came to me. It was Cetra. She put my head on her lap and looked down my body, which was wet, bruised and covered in cuts and scratches. She whimpered and brought her head down to mine, her hands on my shoulders and rocked back and forth gently, singing a lullaby softly as the sun began to slowly rise.
(Cetra’s POV, back on the TARDIS; )
I helped the Doctor into the TARDIS and set him down gently on the jump seat. He groaned as I sat him down and he leaned back, exhausted, and closed his eyes. I sighed and sat down next to him, leaning against him. We were equally exhausted. Before I fell asleep, he suddenly chuckled. I lifted my head up and looked at him.
“Never again.” He laughed. I rolled my eyes and leaned against him again, falling asleep.
