This story is set after Doomsday (Season 2 finale), but before Journey's End! (Season 4 finale)

Rose had moved to Norway after The Doctor said goodbye. She had always hoped that somehow, he would find his way back and she would be on the sand at Bad Wolf Bay, waiting for her Doctor to come back.

She wanted to live on her own, but her mother refused. So, she got Pete and Mickey to come along with them, and they all rented out a flat between themselves. There was an extra bedroom, ready for him, because Rose never stopped believing.

But after Rose had found out something, she stopped believing that The Doctor would come back for her.

She started believing that she would go back for The Doctor.

Rose found out that the Torchwood that Pete had worked at (and now, quit) was looking to hire her. Thinking she could find a way back, she accepted.

That was before she found out, of course.

Torchwood had to apparently scan her, and they had found out what had changed as well.

Rose had two hearts.

Looking into the Time Vortex caused this- The Ninth Doctor didn't fully get rid of it all.

The change slowly happened; she started having hallucinations (hearing the TARDIS), dreams and visions about The Doctor with other companions, hearing The Doctor speak (not to her) in her mind, and more.

And it was then that Torchwood told her she was a Time Lady- and was bonded to the TARDIS.

They weren't going to let her go unscathed. Torchwood took her in, examined her, and even made her die just so she could regenerate.

Rose had even changed her face 5 times now.

After weeks and months of examining, Rose found her chance of escape. Without even saying goodbye to her family, she stole a vortex manipulator, hacked it, and managed to send herself to Bad Wolf Bay in the other world.

Rose now looked very different. Her hair was short, black and thick with a long side bang. She needed glasses; however didn't have them. There were scars from experimenting all over her, but she didn't really care. Rose appeared so young, possibly like a 16 year old but really about 30 years.

Even looking at herself didn't feel right, she thought, but the focus right now was to find her Doctor.

It didn't take long before she heard the TARDIS materialize, and she ran into the forest near Bad Wolf Bay, wearing a hospital gown.

The Doctor came out, without a companion, just after Martha left. He shut the doors, and walked out onto the sand, staring at the ocean view.

Rose slowly approached him, quiet.

But not quiet enough.

The Doctor spoke:

"I know you're there." He said simply, before turning around with a frown. He didn't recognize her.

The Doctor had a strange feeling when he saw her- Do I know her? Who is she?

Then The Doctor's eyes widened, and he looked around, and then focused on Rose. "You're a... Time Lady?!" He asked her, looking at her in shock. He could tell there was a another of his species right next him.

"Doctor, it's me." Rose pried, approaching him. "It's Rose."

He shook his head. "You're not my Rose." He said this as if it was obvious.

Rose gave him a sad look. "On this very beach, in a parallel world, you were only an image. The last thing you said to me was: 'Quite right too. And if I only have only last chance to say it, Rose Tyler, I...'" She had tears in her eyes as she finished this sentence.

The Doctor stepped back. "No... B-but how? Y-you're not.." He didn't finish before Rose walked right over to him, and kissed him passionately.

He didn't protest, but he didn't kiss back either. The Doctor still wasn't very convinced it was her.

She grabbed his hands, still kissing him, and placed one on her heart. Then she took the other and put it on the opposite side, where there was another heartbeat.

The Doctor broke away in surprise. "You're..." He couldn't continue.

"It's me, it really is Doctor." She sighed. "I guess I'm gonna have to tell you..." She shivered. Rose was only in a hospital gown, and it was autumn.

He slowly nodded, and led her to the TARDIS, glancing at her every now and then, eyes widening when he sees the scars on her arms and legs.
