It had been a few days since Donna left, and he felt horrible.

The ONE companion he had actually loved back... Gone. Never to be seen by his old eyes again.

He tried to distract himself, but it was no use. He always found his thought opening doors in his memory, leading to those precious moments with Rose.

The day at New Earth... She was only just getting used to the new him. and even though he had trouble recognizing his feelings back then, he knew it showed. Even sometimes in his ninth self.

Them laying down on his coat, in the grass... Spending time with each other throughout the universe.

Yet one moment shone brighter than the others in that memory.

When "Rose" snogged him. It wasn't her really. Yet it felt amazing, kissing her. That, in fact, was when he truly realized.

Realized that he loved her.

He found himself exploring other memories, not really wanting to think about that specific on anymore.

But that depressed emotion never left. Every time he was with her, the loving feeling practically radiated from him.

And it hurt to know he would never get to feel that way next to her again.

He told himself there would never be anyone else. Couldn't. He might have more companions in the future, but Rose would never be forgotten.

Never.
