Stephen was dived in his books, his sparkling blue eyes memorising each word of the spell scroll and you sighed heavily. You were doing the same for hours in the library: studying. Your mind was too full, you couldn't take any single words so you closed the book and took your head in your hands. You breathed in and out, trying to relax and to think about something else than a combination of codes and spells. You massaged your temples and got up, grabbing the book to put it back to the shelf.
" I'm taking a break, do you want some tea when I come back?"
He barely looked up at you, focussed on the reading but he managed to nod as a response.
" Okay, see you later, then."
You left the room, taking your time to walk and stretched your tired limbs. You crossed the corridor and reached the training room where the Ancient One was meditating. Her bright amber tunic was resting loosely on her form and her eyebrows were furrowed. You carefully took a step closer and watched her, studying her face. " She may be using astral projection" you pondered tilting your head to the side. It was a possibility you couldn't exclude with the Mirror Dimension. You passed down her body, leaving her in her own world and reached the mini table where a set of tea and teacups was settled. You put your hand above the teapot and whispered a fire spell. Immediately, a blazing pentagram appeared and a small wave of smoke erupted from the object. A smile reached your face and you grabbed two teacups and swiftly filled them with the warm liquid. Then you took them in your hands, careful to not burn yourself and headed back to the library. Focussed on the balance your teacups, you didn't see the small furry figure passed down your legs, you didn't hear the warning of Wong and the unsteady balance of the tea you had kept was troubled by something jumping on your legs. You stumbled back, trying to steady yourself but you fell on your back, throwing the teacups away in the fall.
" What the hell was that?" you shouted, clearly angry.
Then you notice the animal looking at you with bright blue eyes and you don't know why but you blushed. This look was so mesmerising, so full of emotions you held your breath. The cat stepped closer on your body, putting hesitantly his paws on your belly, then your chest to finally connect the cold nose of the animal to yours. Hypnotised by the gesture, you froze, unable to do anything. Your mind was blank, no words escaped your lips except the question " What?". The magic was broken when the deep voice of the Asian Magician echoed in the atmosphere.
" Y/N! Catch him!"
You looked at him in disbelief, turning slightly your head and breaking contact with the feline. Wong had a concerned face, and his hair usually sliced back was a little tousled. You narrowed your eyes, looking at him with an air saying " what happened?" and his air responding " don't ask" so you just shrugged. Then you took a closer look at the animal who was still sitting on your chest, and purring. He had two white strands on its cheeks and it made you think about Stephen. You pushed away that thought and chuckled. However, Wong came closer and the cat immediately turned back and roared at him. Your eyes widened at the reaction and Wong froze too. He slowly took a step back and a smirk reached his lips. He announced:
" Take care of it and don't lose him, understood?"
You nodded, pondering.
" Sure, is it your cat?"
He shook his head:
" Nah, it's yours now."
Then he left you before you could ask what was the name of the cat. Your words died on your lips and you sighed heavily. You stared at the cat who was strangely looking at you, a glimmer of intelligence shining in its acute eyes. You looked at each other for what seemed an eternity, observing you and a strange feelings rose in your belly, something you only had with Stephen: the famous butterflies of love in the belly. You carefully rose your hand and gently stroke the ebony fur of the cat. The cat closed its eyes and purred loudly. Your hands stroke the soft fur, from its head to the back and then the neck and the black cat purred even loudly. Then you decided to get up so you grabbed the cat in your arms and went to the library where Stephen was probably waiting for you. The cat kept on purring and you stroke him without noticing. Carrying him like a baby the cat put his head against your heart and a paw on your chest. You blushed at the gesture and you melted under the sight your eyes met. You softly took your phone in your pocket and took a picture of the two of you. It wasn't everyday a very loving cat nuzzled into you.
" You're so cute" you muttered, looking at the adorable cat laying in your arms.
You opened the door of the library but immediately stopped in your tracks. Countless books were scattered everywhere, the table where you had studied with Stephen was broken in two and the Cloak of Levitation was hovering in a corner. The moment it saw you, it instantly came towards you and enveloped you in a tight embrace as if it was relieved to see you. Then it gripped one of your arms and led you to a certain place.
" What are you doing Cloak?" you asked, trying to not let the cat go. Therefore, the cat moved from laying to settle on your shoulder, its tail resting on your other shoulder. The pet stroke its cheeks on yours, obviously happy.
" Where is Stephen? If something happened to him I couldn't forgive myself. I love him too much to lose him, you know Cloak?" you said once the relic stopped and turned its collar to face you. Tears were on the verge to fall and the material softly dried your tears while the cat ran its tongue on it to clean it off. You smiled at their actions and raised your head up:
" Where is he?" you asked again and the cloak put a hem towards a book on the floor. You knelt down and grabbed it, observing the scarlet leather scroll with the golden letters entitled " Metamorphosis". You tilted your head to the side, wondering why Stephen would read something like that and you opened it carefully. Standing behind you, the cloak turned the page until it reached the one it wanted. The figure of a wild cat was drawn accompanied by poetic words. You were going to say it out loud when the relic gagged you. You jumped in surprise and the cat landed on the floor, next to the book. He looked at you first and then the book, tapping its paw on the page. You pondered, the cloak still gagging you with a hem of the material and you grabbed it carefully, slowly removing it. You had understood, it didn't want you to pronounce this words so you stayed silent. You focussed your attention on the pet, its storming-calm eyes staring at you, hoping for something.
" Stephen?" you asked, dubiously.
The cat, if it could smile, would have done it, like the big Cheshire 's grin. The pet nodded and its tail moved faster.
" Seriously, you were turned into a cat! How am I going to help you? I warn you, I'm not going to kiss you like Princess and the Frog. "
The cat rolled its eyes, and you recognised Stephen's behaviour in that manner. He used his claws to show you the reverse spell on the other page. He then looked at you again and you nodded.
" Okay. Don't move, Stephen. I'm going to say the reverse spell. "
You rose your hands above the cat, who was motionless and looking at you with trust and muttered the words. A large blood orange pentagram appeared and the blazing light wrapped the animal so bright you were blinded. You closed your eyes and kept on muttering the spell until you said the last word. You waited for a few seconds, panting and your eyes still closed when a small tap on your shoulder snapped you out of your wait. You opened your eyes and saw Stephen next to you, a warm smile on his face. You didn't think twice and jumped into his arms, holding him tightly against you.
" God! Easy, Y/N!" he said, catching you without falling on the floor. His hands grabbed your waist and kept you steady.
" You scared me, idiot!" you answered, nuzzled in his neck.
You stayed in this position for a while, simply enjoying the presence of each other. Stephen was instinctively stroking your hair and he broke the silence.
" You're quite good with cats."
You chuckled a bit, stepping back to look at him.
" You are a beautiful cat, Stephen. Your fur was so soft!" you giggled.
He smirked at you.
" Well, I'm sure you would be a cute one too." he said before he muttered the words and rose his hand towards you.
" Stephen, don't you dare!" you threatened.
But it was too late. Bright light encompassed you and the next moment you were a cat. Or more specifically a beautiful feline with bright acute eyes.
" Oh yes, you're magnificent!" Stephen said, taking you in his arms and leaving the library. You mewed at him but he lifted you easily. He started to stroke your head and despite your human mind, the feeling made you purr.
" My dear Y/N, what am I going to do with you?" he said, a smirk appearing on his gorgeous lips.
You gulped and tried to get away from his grip but it was to not avail and you sighed in defeat, realising that he was going to probably embarrass you. How? You had no idea.

Wong looked at Stephen, now back in his human form, walking to his bedroom with a strangely familiar pet in his arms. The Asian magician crossed the distant part and asked the Sorcerer:
" Is that Y/N?"
Stephen blushed and revealed, smirking:
" It might"
Wong laughed at him and said:
" Just don't let the spell last too long "
Stephen reached his bedroom and said:
" Duly noted, Wong".
