Winter was more vicious than you had thought and here you were now, fever at its highest, stretching the sheets of your bed, sweating. You groaned and attempted of getting up. Your shaky legs barely supported you, but you managed to reach your bathroom and you looked at yourself in the mirror. The reflect made you gasp in horror. You were a zombie. Your face was as pale as a corpse, your eyes red and puffy and your hair was a mess. You washed your face to gain some colours and added some make up to hide your pallor. You took some aspirin to low the fever down and put your clothes on after having taken a good shower. You tried to prepare yourself as usual despite your tiredness and the fever. Then you left your comfy spot, wandering into the corridors to reach the breakfast room where you met Mordo,Wong, the Ancient One and Stephen eating. They all warmly welcomed you and you avoided any contact by smiling at them and saying a general hello. You grabbed a bowl, a glass and your cereal before settling down at the table. You picked the orange juice and filled your glass under astonishing gazes. Stephen was the first to break the silence:

" Y/N, are you okay?"

You filled your bowl and said:

" Yeah, I'm good, why?"

His eyebrows furrowed:

" You seem... off".

A tired smile crossed your face and you tried to look contented.

" I'm just tired lately. Nothing to worry about."

You ate your cornflakes, even if you were not hungry. You knew you had to eat if you wanted to gain more energy to be able to do the training session with Stephen. You must wondered why you didn't just say to my friends that you're sick. Well, that is quite easy, you were afraid of doctors, one of them scared me to death when you were a little girl because you needed to do my vaccine but I was too scared of the needle. However, he roughly grabbed my arm and did it anyway. Since that day, you don't trust any medical person, especially doctors. Once you've finished your breakfast, you looked at Stephen who was staring at you. Raising your eyebrows, you asked:

" Is there something wrong?"

He shook his head and got up.

" Ready for the training?"

You followed close behind him.

" As I'll ever be".

You both reached the training room and you removed your jacket. Thousand shivers crossed your body because of the fever which were playing tricks at you. Once you were cold and the next second you were too hot. ( We all know that , right?)

Stephen faced you and you walked to the centre of the room.

" Today, we are going to test your reflexes. To do that, I'm going to blindfold you and then I 'll attack you, okay?"

You shrugged and nodded at him. He was the one training you so he basically decided everything you were going to do, you even tease him by calling him "Master" where he was too bossy which make him blush and harder towards your training. So just to annoy him, you said the trigger word:

" Yes, master".

He roughly put the blindfold against your eyes and attached it tight.

" Do you see anything, Y/N? " He whispered in the shell of your ear. You shivered at the contact of his warm breath on your bare shoulder and said:

" No, Stephen."

He squeezed your shoulders, his leather glove stroking your skin.

" Good".

Then he pushed forward and you stumbled until you gained back your balance. Your breathing sped up and you tried to see what was going on but with your eyes dived in the darkness of the cloth, you couldn't see a thing! a sudden pain erupted from your back and you yelped. You turned on yourself, your arms up in an attempt to touch something. Blind, you stumbled, hits barely avoided leaving a red mark on your body. You tried to block the hits but you were too slow. Your breathing quickened and you felt yourself dizzy. Panting, your darkened vision seems to slow down as if time was putting its brakes for you and you felt the air waves at the stick approaching your body. You raised your hand up and blocked the stick to touch your skin. Your grip tightened and you heard Stephen gasped. You groaned at him and grabbed the stick violently before throwing it somewhere. You tore the cloth of your eyes off and stormed out of the room, Stephen on your tail:

" What the hell is going on, Y/N? Did I hurt you too bad? Well I'm sorry,.. not so sorry because it was for your own good"

You stepped dead in your tracks and turned on yourself:

" For my own good? You hit me without any warning when I was blindfolded! " you yelled back, clearly pissed off. Your skin was burning, panting and your throat was dry but you didn't care. Stephen looked at you, tilted his head on the side as if he was studying you. Stephen's eyes widened and you snorted. He quickly approached you and grabbed your arm.

" Are you okay, Y/N? And tell me the truth this time, I'm not joking." he said, his voice with a hint of deepness and concern.

You looked at him, falling into his sparkling blue orbs which always captivated you and you sighed.

" You're right, I don't feel very well."

He immediately offered:

" Let's go to the doctor then."

Your body stiffened and you stepped back, shouting:

" No!"

Stephen's eyes narrowed at you and you said softer: " No, it's probably just a cold. I'll be better tomorrow".

He looked at you longer and you looked at your shoes, uncomfortable under his heavy gaze:

" There is more, tell me,Y/N" he said in a hoarse voice.

However, he didn't catch your lie and put his hand on your forehead before you could object:

" I hate doctors okay?" you dropped sheepishly.

" Fine, I''ll take care of you then. Now let me see you closer"

He approached you and put his hand on your forehead, his eyes widening when he sensed the warmness erupting from your body.

" Oh God! You're burning! Why didn't you say anything? " he started to rumble about unpronounceable names of medicine. That's when it clicked in your head. Stephen was a doctor, a famous one specialised in neurosurgery but still a doctor, and yet, you were not afraid with him. A little voice asked "why?" in your head but you just ignored it. Stephen grabbed your hand and led you to his room where he made you sit on his bed:

" Okay, I'm going to take care of you. First, are you allergic to any medicine?"

You shook your head. He nodded, pondering.

"Did you check the level of your temperature this morning?"

Again, you shook your head and he looked at you in disapproval.

" When you felt yourself a bit warmer than usual, take your temperature"

Questions after questions went by, and your fear came back in force., striking your chest in a fire ball. You squeezed the sheets tighter and your whole body tensed. Your breathing was heavy despite the fact you were trying to stay calm. Inhale and exhale, inhale and exhale. Stephen kneeled in front of you and started to examine you. Dived in a doctor mode, he gently touched your skin, beginning by your neck to see if there was any inflammations. His touch was a bit shaking and you bit your lip to not just step away from his touch. However, Stephen seemed to notice your embarrassment.

" Is everything okay, Y/N? He asked, his eyebrows furrowed in concern. You tried to speak, shaking:

" I.. I'm afraid... of...of doctors" your let out in a shaky breath. Stephen froze at your declaration and you closed your eyes, fearing the laugh, the mocking or the humiliation he was going to send you as everyone did each time you revealed your fear. On the contrary, he gently caressed your cheek and you opened your eyes to watch I'm staring at you, smiling.

" I'll never hurt you, Y/N. Now, I know what you have. " he waited a few seconds for an impression, you waiting impatiently.

" Well, Doctor Strange?"

" I'm sorry to announce you that you have.. a cold, a bad one."

You sighed in relief and punched him in the arm.

" Don't scare me like that again. I thought you were going to say that I had the flew or something worse."

To your surprise , he cupped your cheeks in both hands, his leather gloves stroking your skin and leant on. His lips touched your burning one into a sweet kiss which you gladly returned. When you stepped back he mumbled something you didn't hear.

" What did you say?"

" I said, you're hot!"

You smirked at him.

" Thanks, you're not so bad yourself." you teased.

His face reddened at your comment and he babbled:

" No..I meant in temperature."

" I know, Doctor, I know."

A/N: Any thoughts?
