30⚡️Betrayal

You walk a fine line between beautifully macabre and uncharacteristically psychotic.

Sri was sure her heart had just skipped several beats after the gunshot echoed through the tunnel. She wasn't sure what terrified her more—death itself or the horrifying possibility of dying at the hands of the man she loved. For a fleeting, nightmarish moment, time felt suspended, everything frozen as her heartbeat thundered in her ears. Then, she heard a heavy thud behind her.

Dazed, she whipped around, breath catching in her throat, only to see a body sprawled at her feet, a dark pool of blood seeping onto her shoes. She barely registered the man's lifeless eyes staring up at nothing, his face pale and rigid. Her whole body went cold.

"You killed him!" Her voice pitched higher than she intended.

Taehyung's response was as cold as ice, devoid of any warmth or compassion. "He'll live. Besides, it's not the first time." His words were a hard slap to her heart, each syllable hammering in the same indifference that had become a stranger to her.

"Taehyung, I—" She took a step toward him, her hands reaching, pleading, desperate, but he cut her off with a silent gesture, his face stony.

"I don't want to hear it." Without another word, he turned, his shoulders squared in cold rejection. He began walking away, leaving her standing there, stunned and alone.

"Tae, please, listen to me." She reached for him, every part of her begging him to just stop, to give her a chance to explain. "Just... just listen to me! Kim Taehyung!" Her voice cracked, pleading, raw with everything she'd tried so hard to bury.

He stopped abruptly, standing at the edge of the tunnel where a faint ray of sunlight touched just the edges of his dark hair. She could see the way his shoulders tensed, see the slight tremble in his hands as he clenched his fists, yet he didn't turn to face her. Her hand instinctively rose, hovering in the air, desperate to touch him, to reassure him. But it froze, and she let it fall back at her side.

"You fooled me again," he finally said, his voice trembling with bitterness. He turned, his eyes hollow, filled with a despair that pierced straight through her. "You all did. From the beginning, I was just a pawn to you gangsters." His gaze held such depthless pain that she nearly crumbled under it.

"Taehyung... please. I had my reasons," she whispered, her own voice breaking, even though she knew it sounded hollow.

"Damn your reasons!" he shouted, his voice raw and filled with the hurt he could no longer contain. "Last time, you had the same 'reasons' when you faked your death! Why is it so hard for you to trust me, to let me in? I'm your husband for fuck's sake!" His voice cracked, his pain palpable, each word tearing at her defenses.

"I know," she murmured, her voice barely a whisper. "That's why I did it. I didn't want anyone to hurt you."

"But you did, Sri. You hurt me more than any enemy ever could." His voice broke, his own eyes brimming with unshed tears. "You thought it was easier to erase me from your life than to let me in. When will you stop being so selfish and see that I'm here, standing by you?" His voice softened, but his eyes, filled with heartbreak, held her captive.

"You don't understand what I had to go through, Taehyung," she whispered, the weight of her choices crushing her.

"To be honest, I don't want to." He shook his head, his voice bitter. "While you were gone, I needed you. My world was falling apart. I lost our daughter, Soojung. I lost her, and I lost you too." He laughed bitterly, brokenly, and she could see the devastation in his gaze. "But you were already gone, weren't you? You were gone long before you left." The use of her real name, Soojung, hit her harder than any bullet.

Sri's vision blurred, her heart twisting painfully. "It was hard for me too."

"But we could have faced it together!" He let out a strangled breath, his voice filled with years of pain. "I thought maybe it was better for you to forget us, to move on. But no, you were just off playing a bigger game that didn't include me. You betrayed my trust. Took advantage of the love I had for you."

She choked on her words, unable to meet his gaze. "I—"

"But did you even miss Taesoo?" His voice was raw, filled with a sadness that made her heart ache. "She was your daughter, Sri. Your own blood. You left her, as if none of it mattered. You failed as a mother."

"Stop it!" She screamed, raising her gun, her tears now streaming down her face, mingling with the agony in her eyes. "Don't you dare question my love for her. I watched her die! I gave up everything to give her justice, even my life, even you." Her voice trembled with the weight of her grief and fury.

"I'll say it again, you failed as a mother, Kim Sri." His tone was cold, devoid of emotion. He raised his own gun, leveling it at her, his eyes hard. "I'm not afraid of you." They were so close that their weapons nearly touched, each one's breathing harsh and labored, neither willing to give an inch.

"I'm going to see this to the end, Taehyung. Whether you understand or not." Her voice was resolute, unyielding. She removed the safety on her gun, watching as he mirrored her action. Anger flared in both of their eyes, blinding them to the love that had once held them together, making them forget that one would never survive losing the other.

"I was the only person who loved the queen of mafias," he spat, a bitter chuckle escaping his lips. "And I'll be the only one she'll ever bow to." His voice was cold, cutting, as he stared down at her. She felt the weight of his words, the warmth of the sun on her face contrasting sharply with the chill that had overtaken her heart. "Trust me, S, this time, I won't miss."

They locked eyes, his gaze piercing, dark, and unrelenting. Then he slowly lowered his gun, turned and walked away, leaving her alone in the dark tunnel.

Sri watched him go, her body wracked with emotions she could no longer contain. Her rage boiled over, and with a scream that tore from the depths of her soul, she fired her gun into the shadows, each bullet a release of the pain and sorrow she could no longer bear. Her cries echoed through the tunnel, a haunting lament that would linger in the dark long after she was gone, resounding with all the words they'd left unsaid and all the love they'd let die.

The car door slammed shut with a sharp thud, and Taehyung yanked on his seatbelt, his jaw clenched as he stared ahead, eyes burning with residual anger. Jimin glanced at him from the driver's seat, raising an eyebrow at his friend's agitation.

"Hey, bud!" Jimin said, trying to lighten the mood. His hair, which had once been a striking pink, was now back to its natural black. "Don't tell me you lost the target?"

Taehyung scoffed, a dismissive wave of his hand indicating that the job had been done without any trouble. "Target's taken care of," he muttered.

"Then why the sour face?" a voice piped up from the back seat. Sherly, her freshly dyed blonde hair catching the last rays of sunlight, leaned forward, studying him with a look of curiosity mixed with concern.

"Not in the mood, Sherly," Tae said sharply, turning his gaze out the window, his face unreadable as he stared at the city blurring past them.

Jimin, never one to let tension linger, grinned and abruptly swerved the car to take a sharp left turn, nearly throwing Taehyung against the door.

"What the— Jimin, what are you doing?" Taehyung looked out, wide-eyed, at the glowing neon sign of an amusement park that now loomed ahead of them.

"Ta-da!" Jimin sang, beaming.

"Are you out of your mind? We're here for a mission!" Taehyung's eyes narrowed, irritation radiating from him.

"Oh, come on!" Sherly practically dragged him out of the car as Jimin tossed Taehyung's gun into the glove compartment and locked the vehicle. "A little fun won't kill us."

Taehyung resisted, mumbling protests under his breath. He couldn't deny that his mind was still spinning with thoughts of Sri, memories and anger twisting together in a maddening knot. He'd planned to isolate himself in his hotel room, hoping the solitude might help him sort through the emotions her reappearance had stirred up. But instead, here he was, standing at the entrance of a brightly lit amusement park with Jimin and Sherly, two of the last people he could expect peace and quiet from.

"Three tickets, please!" Sherly called cheerfully, as if they were on a casual day out and not dealing with a world of betrayal and grudges.

As they boarded the Ferris wheel, Taehyung was grateful when Jimin and Sherly took a different car. At least he'd have a few moments to himself. As the ride ascended, the city stretched out below him, glowing in a dusky purple hue as twilight settled in. He watched the endless rows of cars snake through the streets, his gaze momentarily catching on a sleek, dark blue car. From such a height, he couldn't quite make out the brand, but its elegance and design struck him.

"Probably some rich businessman," he murmured to himself, trying to lose himself in the scene below. But his mind betrayed him, replaying the bitter words he'd exchanged with Sri earlier.

Her betrayal felt fresh, sharper than any weapon. She'd made her choice, chosen her path, and left him to pick up the shattered pieces of a life he once thought they'd share. A raw pain twisted in his chest, anger mingling with a longing he refused to acknowledge. She didn't deserve to know the scars she'd left behind, the emptiness he'd had to claw his way through after she disappeared from his life.

The Ferris wheel began its descent, and Taehyung forced himself to exhale slowly, hoping the ride would ease the storm inside him. The sight of the city, bustling with life and unaware of his turmoil, was strangely grounding.

As he stepped off the Ferris wheel, he caught sight of Jimin and Sherly laughing together, their smiles warm and carefree. He envied their simplicity, the ease with which they moved through life. It reminded him of what he once had, and how far he'd strayed from that light.

Jimin shot him a knowing look, his eyes softening. "Come on, Tae. Sometimes, you've just got to let go." Tae managed a weak smile, though he felt anything but at ease.

So its the last sunshine live we are getting. I'll miss him. Lets meet in 2025. Go and come back safely hobi.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
