22⚡️Tricked and Trapped
I am a raging sea, trapped inside a raindrop.
"Go to hell, Jungkook!" Taehyung shouted, pulling the trigger just as another shot rang out, the bullet knocking his gun from his hand and sending it clattering to the floor.
Every eye snapped toward the source of the sound. Jimin almost pulled the trigger until he recognized the attacker. "What the fuck is wrong with you boys?" Sri's voice echoed through the tense silence, sharp and commanding. "If you want to die so early, step aside—I'll shoot you myself!" Her presence radiated an intensity that filled the room, the tension thick enough to cut.
"Sri—" Taehyung began, flabbergasted as he processed how she had overcome the anesthetic drug he thought would keep her subdued.
"Not a word, Kim Taehyung!" she interrupted fiercely, firing again. The bullet whizzed past her husband, embedding itself into the wall with a loud thunk, leaving a deep dent in the cement. "How dare you take advantage of my trust?" She strode over to him with purpose, pressing the cold muzzle of her gun against his forehead, her eyes boring into his with a mix of hurt and fury.
Having been a gangster in her past, Sri was well-versed in overcoming the effects of anesthetic drugs. She had awakened clumsily after Taehyung left, her heart racing as she took the idazoxan pills she had hidden away. Knowing where he had gone, she followed his trail to the Titan mansion, fueled by a mix of anger and determination.
"I was just trying to protect you from him," he said, his voice low and defeated, hurt coursing through him. How could she point a gun at him, the man who had always tried to shield her from danger?
"I don't need protection from my own brother! Even if he is plotting against me, I'm not foolish enough to be played. I know how to show people their proper place." Her voice held such power that no one dared to interrupt her. The room was charged with an electric tension, every gaze flickering between the three of them.
"This is why I didn't want you to come to the Titan mansion. I didn't want you to embrace the darkness again. I don't want to feed that monster again." Taehyung's glossy eyes dropped to the ground, shame washing over him. He couldn't maintain contact with her icy gaze, the weight of his actions pressing down on him like a heavy fog.
Sri sharply inhaled, feeling the weight of their past hanging between them. She lowered her gun. "Paboya, you don't need to worry so much," she mumbled, turning her attention to Jungkook. The Titan boss was clutching his bloody shoulder, his shirt stained a deep red. Had Sri not intervened, Taehyung would have succeeded in his attack; the bullet aimed at Jungkook's heart had struck his shoulder instead. Yet Jungkook laughed loudly, the sound jarring and unsettling in the stillness of the room. "What do you find funny here?" Sri demanded, her voice laced with annoyance.
"Foolish doctor. I provoked you, and you danced like an idiot. Your face was priceless the day we met on the road," Jungkook replied, a mischievous glint in his eye as he ignored Sri and focused on Taehyung.
Taehyung felt as though his head had been replaced with that of a donkey. His jaw dropped and his eyes widened in betrayal. "What the hell?! Why would you do that?!"
"For some fun in my boring life. I was glad you were brave enough to step into the Titan mansion and even tried to kill me for Noona's sake. But Taehyung—" He couldn't contain his bunny-like toothy grin, the playful demeanor contrasting sharply with the gravity of the situation.
"The Titans are trying their best to get Taesoo back. We are almost there," Sri assured Taehyung, her voice softening as she glanced back at him. Turning to Jungkook, she added, "The next time you pull a stunt like that, I'll put a bullet between your eyebrows." Jungkook winced when he accidentally shifted his injured shoulder, the pain flickering across his face. "Get treated," Sri ordered, striding into the office with purpose. "Sherly, come with me."
Taehyung approached Jungkook, but the younger man raised a hand to stop him. "I'll call Namjoon."
"He's out of the country on a mission," Jimin reminded him, his tone exasperated as Jungkook rolled his eyes in frustration.
"You're hurt because of me. Let me treat you as an apology," Taehyung insisted, pulling Jungkook onto the couch, the plush fabric contrasting sharply with the tension in the air. The Titan boss didn't protest; he let Taehyung take care of him, his expression unreadable.
"I should have been smarter," Taehyung admitted, the weight of guilt heavy on his chest. "I was blinded by dread and a traumatic past. I'm sorry." He knew he didn't need to apologize; it was Jungkook's fault, but he didn't want to create more problems than they were already facing.
The moment Taehyung finished tying the bandage around Jungkook's shoulder, Sherly burst into the room, breathless and wide-eyed. "We located Taesoo!"
Within seconds, everyone crowded into Jungkook's office, the urgency palpable in the air. On the smart screen, a red dot blinked brightly on the digital map, marking a location two hours away from the Titan headquarters. Sri stood at the forefront, arms crossed tightly over her chest, her gaze locked on the screen with a mix of determination and dread. Taehyung shifted anxiously on his legs, his fingers running through his hair in frustration, while Jungkook twisted a pen between his fingers, his mind racing as he formulated a plan. Jimin and Sherly waited patiently, their expressions serious as they anticipated the next steps.
"We're going there, now," Sri announced, her voice firm as she tried to stride toward the door. But Jungkook moved swiftly to block her path, his expression grave.
"Noona. Stop." He stood tall, his authority commanding her attention. "If you go, you're walking right into their trap. They want S."
"I know," she shot back, frustration creeping into her tone. "But we need to get Taesoo back first!" Her eyes flickered with concern, betraying the turmoil within her.
"Trust me," Jungkook said, his voice steady. "I will bring her back to you. Taehyung can accompany me if he wants." He turned to the doctor, who met his gaze with a resolute nod, ready to follow.
"He's right," Taehyung added, gently squeezing Sri's shoulders, his touch a reminder of their bond. "If you go, they'll get exactly what they want." Reluctantly, Sri stepped back, understanding the wisdom in Jungkook's words. She had to think strategically, resisting the impulse to dive headfirst into danger.
"Me, Taehyung, and Sherly will go," Jungkook ordered, his tone brokering no argument. "Jimin, you stay back with Noona and send reinforcements if we need them."
"Come back safely. All of you." Sri's voice was a mix of strength and vulnerability, her hard yet pleading eyes darting among the three men, silently imploring them to return.
"We will," Sherly affirmed, bowing slightly before exchanging a worried glance with Jimin. He couldn't hide the concern etched on his features, but he knew there was no time to express it.
Taehyung leaned in, pecking Sri's lips softly. "I'll bring her back safe and sound," he promised, trying to instill confidence in her.
As the team made their exit, Sri felt a knot tighten in her stomach. Anxiety swirled within her, but she had to hold it together and trust in her husband and brother. Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as she envisioned her daughter's radiant smile, a face she hadn't seen in weeks, and the thought pierced her heart.
"I know it's hard for you," Jimin said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, his voice soothing yet firm.
"I left everything behind," she lamented, her voice trembling. "I even left my home, my loved ones, my country. But they won't give me peace even there. My innocent child has to suffer."
Just as Jimin began to respond, her phone rang, breaking the tension. Startled, Sri glanced at the screen—it was Officer Hoseok. Confused but hopeful, she answered the call, but his words sent a chill down her spine.
"We have located Taesoo. She has been kept somewhere in Incheon. We also received a video."
Sri's heart raced, panic coursing through her veins. Incheon? But Jungkook had headed to Busan to rescue Taesoo. The implications struck her like a cold wave. They had walked right into Jongki's trap.
"No," she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper, realization dawning as dread settled deep in her gut.

And I miss Jungkook. :(
