17⚡️Change in Plan

If a plan doesn't work, change it, not the goal...

Taehyung opened his eyes to a bright, white ceiling that felt both foreign and unsettling. A dull ache throbbed at the back of his head, and memories flickered like shadows—his confrontation with the Eclipse gang. Bold of him to assume he could defeat them alone, yet he managed to take down three of their members before one of them struck him from behind.

As he turned his head, sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the hospital room. His gaze fell on his sleeping wife, Sri, who held one of his hands tightly, her head resting beside him. A wave of guilt washed over him; she must have been so worried about him.

A faint whimper broke the silence, drawing his attention back to Sri. Her forehead was furrowed, and beads of sweat glistened on her skin. Her breathing was uneven, and she clutched his arm as if it were a lifeline. Realizing she was trapped in a bad dream, he gently massaged her scalp with his free hand, hoping to soothe her.

Sri's eyes snapped open at his touch, but they quickly softened when she recognized him. "How do you feel?" Her voice was groggy, laced with sleep.

Taehyung didn't ask her about the nightmare but offered an apologetic smile instead. "I'm good."

"What were you thinking?! Who told you to go there alone?!" she began to scold, her voice rising with each word. "I never taught you to fight against a whole fucking gang like a child!!"

Here she goes, he thought, trying to suppress a smile as his eyes fell on her bandaged shoulder. "Was it because of me?" he pointed at it, concern etched on his face.

Sri hesitated for a moment but continued, completely ignoring his question. "Don't you even know what would have happened if I hadn't reached there on time? You idiot! Stupid doctor—Yah! What are you doing?" Her bewilderment grew as she saw him trying to sit up. Instantly, she rushed to help him, her scolding momentarily forgotten.

Pulling her into a bear hug, he silenced her rants. They remained like that for several moments before Sri whispered, "I was so scared. I thought I was going to lose you. First Taesoo, then you..." Her voice broke, emotion welling up inside her.

Kissing the top of her head, Taehyung mumbled, "I'm sorry. I didn't want you to get involved again."

"You can't stop me, Tae. I need to get our daughter back. I have to get her before it's too late. The police are of no help! Their powers are too limited." She broke the hug and sat up straight, determination flashing in her eyes.

Taehyung sighed in defeat, knowing she was right. "Tae?" he hummed in response. "I have killed anyone who tried to touch you." He stiffened at his own words, locking eyes with her. Her gaze was teary yet strong, a reflection of her unyielding spirit.

"I'm sorry, I broke my promise," she whispered, a hint of remorse in her voice.

Taehyung shook his head in denial. "Do whatever it takes to bring Taesoo back. I will not stop you unless you go on a suicide mission." Sri's gentle smile reassured him, but a knot of anxiety tightened in his chest. He had to stop Jungkook before he did anything reckless. Gangsters didn't value relationships; they would go to any lengths to achieve their goals.

At the same time, Taehyung needed to prevent Sri from going to Jungkook. The thought of her confronting her own brother, especially with a gun aimed at her, sent a chill down his spine. He had to work faster than she did.

"What are you staring at?" Sri's voice pulled him back to reality, and he realized he had been lost in thought, gazing blankly at her for several minutes.

"Your luscious lips," he replied smoothly, masking his worry with a flirty line. Sri blushed, a hint of pink rising to her cheeks as she rolled her eyes. "C'mon! I'm the patient, and you're my medicine."

"Which medical science said that?" she teased, but despite her words, she leaned closer.

"The TaeScience, ofcourse." He flashed her his trademark rectangular smile, leaning in as if to kiss her when the door swung open with a bang.

"This is a fucking hospital!" Dr. Yoongi snarled, his expression a mix of irritation and disbelief. "I don't care if you're my senior, but since you're younger than me, Kim Fucking Taehyung, you have all your life to get jazzy with your wife! So please, spare this holy hospital ground. The chairman would kill himself if he saw you two."

Taehyung immediately recoiled, cheeks flushing red like ripe apples. Sri rolled her eyes, exasperated. "And you ruined our moment, Mr. Grinch."

"Shut up! My eyes would have lost their visual virginity!" Yoongi shot back, indignant.

"As if you've never masturbated while watching porn," Sri quipped, her tone laced with sarcasm.

"Why are you bringing these up now?!" Yoongi's face turned crimson at her savage reply. "And for your information, I was a studious boy."

"You wish! That day I saw you ogling a waiter in the café!" Sri retorted, her laughter bubbling up. Taehyung shot her a jealous glare, clearly annoyed by the banter.

"Visiting time is over! I need to check him, so it's better if you just get out and let me do my work in peace," Yoongi said, swiftly adjusting his stethoscope in his ears before he began examining the pouty Taehyung.

"Thank the God that I have still not killed you," Sri deadpanned before storming out of the room, clearly frustrated.

"Why do you tease her?" Taehyung asked, settling back against the pillow.

"I have better things to do than to tease her. We just don't get along," Yoongi replied, checking his pulse with a professional air.

"Because you both are the same... the only exception is she was raised in a dark world while you were in a lawful and just world." Taehyung's observation hung in the air, but Yoongi chose not to react.

"You were an idiot, you know?" the older doctor said flatly, a hint of seriousness creeping into his tone.

"No need to remind me again, okay? I'm your senior—show some respect, even though I'm younger," Taehyung pouted, and Yoongi sighed, rolling his eyes.

"When am I getting to leave—Oh wait! I'm a doctor here, and I can leave whenever I want!"

With a swift motion, Yoongi injected a sedative into Taehyung's saline pouch. "Your brain needs more rest than your body," he said, watching as Taehyung's eyelids grew heavy.

Sri drove toward the police station, her heart racing as unease settled in her stomach. The dream she had that morning haunted her thoughts, and she didn't want to add to Taehyung's worries, especially since he was already sick.

In the suffocating darkness, Sri wandered toward a flickering light, drawn by distant cries. She entered a dimly lit room, the air thick with dread. In the center stood an empty chair, but Taesoo's terrified sobs echoed around her.

Bound to the chair, her daughter looked up with wide, fearful eyes. "Mommie!" Taesoo cried, desperation etched on her face. Shadows loomed around them, one figure stepping forward with a gleaming knife, a cruel grin spreading across his face.

"You're late. This is how she dies." his words send chills down Sri's spine.

As she lunged forward, the room twisted, and Taesoo's cries faded into silence, leaving Sri to wake up, heart racing, haunted by the chilling vision of her daughter's fear.

Determined, she was prepared to go to any lengths to get their daughter back. Enough was enough; the waiting and following the law had gone on long enough. Nothing mattered to her more than Taesoo's life. At the rate things were progressing, she feared that she would be killed—or worse, everyone connected to her would be harmed. She couldn't let that happen.

Sri walked into the makeshift office Hoseok had set up to assist her. Officially, she wasn't allowed in the police station for obvious reasons, but she had informed the commissioner of her visit. He was waiting for her, along with Soobin and Yeonjun. She wore a long-sleeved dress, careful to conceal her injured shoulder and avoid arousing suspicion.

"Sorry to say, but we haven't been able to spot the Eclipse yet," Yeonjun reported. He was a computer engineer in the department as well as an officer, and his tone carried the weight of disappointment.

"I've changed my plan." Sri leaned over the table, her hands pressed against the polished wooden surface. "Locate the Titans..." The room fell silent as everyone's eyes widened in shock, fear, and alertness.

"Do as she says," Hoseok ordered, his voice firm. Without hesitation, the officers returned to their tasks, driven by the urgency in her tone. The commissioner's lips curled into a secret smirk, satisfaction glinting in his eyes.

I was waiting for this, he thought.

A boring chapter... :(

Btw, I have a hot JK picture as a gift.
