Chapter 9

"Jackie? Your date is here!"
"I'll be right down mom..." I shouted back, glancing in the mirror one last time before practically flying out of my room, and down the stairs.
"Hi Paulie..." I blushed, as he gazed at me, his eyes roaming up and down my body.
"Good evening, love" he winked, taking a step closer to me as my mother cleared her throat, and glanced at me expectantly with wide eyes.
"Oh! Yes of course, Paul this is my mom, Mrs. Matthews, Mom this is Paul McCartney...." I introduced them as my mom extended her hand toward Paul.
"Nice to meet you Mrs. Matthews, I certainly see where Jacqueline got 'er exquisite looks from."
My mother blushed like a school girl, letting out a small, pleased giggle.
"I like this one, you've picked a good one, Jackie."
"Well, Mrs. Matthews as much as I hate to leave so abruptly but, I'm afraid if we don't take off now we'll be late." Paul stated, wrapping his arm loosely around my waist.
"Of course, you two have fun!" My mom cheered, as we walked out the door.
"Ready, darling?" Paul blinked, smiling at me as we walked over to his car.
"Of course!"
"Good, 'ere I'll open it for you! A pretty girl should never have to open doors. Especially not one as gorgeous as yourself."
I blushed at his statement as I slid into the passenger seat, and he carefully closed the door. I watched in awe of him, as he walked around the front of the car to the drivers side door with such a suave air.
"Off we go!" He grinned climbing into the car and starting it.
"I'm glad you agreed to go out with me..." Paul stated, throwing me a wink as he reached out for my hand.
"I'm glad you asked me Paulie..." I replied, allowing him to grip onto my hand.
We drove in silence for a bit, as I glanced at him every once in a while. He looked even more attractive while driving if that was even a possibility. I tittered lightly, as I took in his features, they were much softer than George's. Where as George had an almost ruggedly handsome appearance, Paul had a graceful, fragile, look with his big doe eyes, and long elegant lashes.
"You see something yer fond of yet?" Paul quipped, pulling me from my thoughts.
"Excuse me?"
"You've been staring at me, I was just playing with you. I can't say I blame you, I am quite the specimen." He joked, as I playfully hit his shoulder.
"Shut up!"
"Mm, yer a cheeky one tonight."
"Where are we going?" I asked, sliding over on the bench seat of the car to be closer to him and rested my head on his shoulder.
"It's a surprise love..." he smirked, wrapping his free arm around me.
"Paulie...is it going to take much longer." I whispered, my lips just barely brushing against his ear.
He gulped, before turning to face me for a second. "Why? Do you have something else to do in mind?" He replied huskily.
"Not what you have in mind." I internally laughed, thinking of what George said earlier that day in the dressing rooms. 'What if it's true? How small is it? Most importantly what do I do with it?" My mind became clouded with thoughts, and I floundered helplessly in them before Paul's voice pulled me out of the sea of thoughts swirling in my mind.
"Jackie? Did you hear me?"
I snapped out of my thoughts and backed away from Paul, sliding across to my original seat. He shot me a curious glance, "I didn't mean go away, darling...I just asked how Tino's sounded for dinner."
I blushed, Tino's was really expensive and I'd only been there once.
"Paulie, it's so expensive though."
"That's ok, I want to make sure my best girl has a good time." He smirked, directing his gaze over to me. The thought of the title, "Paul McCartney's best girl" made me blush.
"You're too much..."
"Not nearly enough, because it appears you've got another blokes jacket on." His smile faded as he narrowed his eyes, thoroughly examining George's jacket.
"Oh, um it's really a very warm jacket." I struggled to get out.
"Is it George's?"
I nodded, popping my knuckles nervously. "Yes..."
"Take mine instead, yeah?" He grinned hopefully, carefully shrugging it off as he continued driving.
"Alright..." I smiled shyly, taking off the jacket I had on and putting Paul's on, as Paul latched on to the other and tossed it into the back.
"Perfect!" He grinned, as I blushed and looked out the window for the remainder of the drive.

"Paul, this is really very nice."
"I wanted to impress you..." he whispered, placing his hand on my lower back as we followed the waiter.
"Paulie..." I blushed giggling, as we reached the small table and he scurried to pull out my chair.
"Thanks!" I grinned sitting down, and watching as he padded over to the chair across from me with ease.
"Welcome to Tino's, is there anything special you'd like to drink?"
"I'll just have water, please." I smiled lightly, casting my glance over to Paul, who looked even more debonair in the ambient lighting inside the restaurant.
"Can I have a coke?" The waiter nodded, scribbling down the order on his pad before walking back towards the kitchen.
"What would you say to a game of footsie?" Paul asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Hm...It depends whose playing."
"Me and you of course, don't act so coy Miss! Remember earlier you told me about your little knicker situation." He whispered, playfully narrowing his eyes as he reached over the table for my hand.
I blushed, remembering the events that took place in the kitchen earlier that day and biting my bottom lip.
"When you bit yer lip like that you look like some kind of model."
"Paul-" I started, before his eyes shot up towards the door.
"Yer shitting me..." he whispered, blinking as he still stared at the entrance.
"What's wrong?" I asked turning to look at the restaurants entrance, and spotted none other than George and John with two other boys I'd never seen.
I watched as George motioned to the table next to ours, smiling like a cat in a birdhouse.
"Paulie, what are they doing here?"
He shrugged, now glaring at the group of boys approaching the table next to us.
"Well, well, well, isn't this a pleasant surprise! Look lads, Jackie and Paul are here!" George cheered, before bending down to quickly kiss my temple.
"Georgie..." I whispered grabbing his shirt, and pulling him down closer to me, before looking over at a discontented Paul.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm just grabbing a bite to eat with the others." He smirked, as John proceeded to push a table up flush against the one Paul and I sat at.
"Hope you don't mind if we join you, George got a little wor-"
"Shut it Lennon..." George whispered, shooting John a glare, as he sat down next to me and studied the menu.
"Jackie from America, I don't believe you met Pete and Stu? They're also from Liverpool." John smirked, as I giggled and looked down the table to the other two boys.
"Hello, you must be the Jackie that George always talks about, I'm Pete and this is Stu." The boy motioned between himself and the other boy. I nodded smiling,
"Nice to meet you guys!"
"Jackie, what are you having?" George asked curiously as I looked over to see, Paul and John having it out.
"Oh, um I don't know Georgie..." I whispered, gently nudging Paul's foot hoping to get a response.
"George, why are you here?" I whispered, having a hard time believing that him and the others just decided to stop here for dinner.
"I-I told you..." he mumbled nervously refusing to make eye contact with me.
"George, I want you to tell me what's really going on." I pleaded, as his giant brown orbs met with mine.
"Where's me jacket? That's not mine what're you wearing it for?" He nearly growled narrowing his eyes at me.
"It's Paulie's, He didn't like me wearing yours so I took his."
"Hm, it doesn't look as good on you as mine does." He replied biliously, causing me to huff and roll my eyes.
"Funny, because I like this jacket a lot better than yours at the moment."
"At least I let you keep mine! I bet you he asks fer his back."
"Sod off, Harrison." I whispered, now running my foot up Paul's leg causing him to shift nervously in his chair.
"Yes darling?" Paul, asked shooting John one last glare before, softening his gaze and looking at me.
"I'm not too terribly hungry, why don't we just go get a milkshake or something?"
He grinned widely, "alright love, if that's what you want to do."
"Yeah..."
"What about taking old Geo with you? I'm sure he'd like a milkshake!" John quipped, as Paul pulled my chair out for me.
"Not a chance, he'll get nothing and like it!" Paul exclaimed, wrapping his arm around me before guiding me out of the restaurant and to his car.
"I'm really sorry about that, Jackie..." he whispered, opening the car door for me.
"It's not your fault Paulie, it's ok they're the ones that should apologize."
He nodded, gently closing the door and walking around the car and getting in.
"I really am-" I grinned, sliding over closer to him and giving him a hug.
"Paulie, I told you it's ok. I'm not mad at you, you didn't do anything wrong."
"Yer sure?" He cracked a small smile,
"Positive..." I whispered, as he leaned his forehead down against mine before tenderly pressing his lips against mine.
"To the pier then?" He asked pulling away, but keeping an arm around me.
"Of course!" I smiled, kissing his cheek causing him to blush slightly. Little did we know, an unhappy George had just witnessed the moment we shared in the car.
///
"I had a really good time with you tonight Jackie, even though things didn't go as planned."
"I had a good time with you too, Paul." I grinned, as we reached my doorstep.
"Do it again sometime? Hopefully we won't get interrupted." He said hopefully, pulling me closer to him.
I nodded blushing, as we shared one last kiss before saying goodnight.
"Mom? I'm back!" I shouted before walking through the house and finding a note from her saying she went out with dad.
"Fab..." I muttered, before running up the stairs to my room and throwing the door open.
"Ello..."
"Well shit! Give me a heart attack why don't you?"
"I didn't mean to scare you...I see yer back in me jacket though, what happened? Paulie ask fer his back?" He smiled proudly, as I shot him a glare.
"George, I'm not in the mood for these games of grab ass right now."
"Look I'm sorry-" I held my hand up, silencing him.
"If you should be apologizing to anybody right now it should be Paul. He's your friend George, and you nearly humiliated him."
"Jackie, will you just listen to me damnit!" He growled, standing up and moving over and looking out the open window.
"Make it worth my time then..."
"I'm sorry, fer my actions tonight they weren't very nice and I apologize fer ruining yer date with Paul. But I get a bit jealous sometimes, of how cozy you and Paul get. That being said, I'll apologize to Paul tomorrow at band rehearsal." He turned around, walking over next to me and kneeling beside me. This had become a usual routine thing, do something with Paul, face George's wrath, he apologizes and looks up at me with those big velvety brown eyes, causing me to buckle immediately and forgive him.
"George you know I can't not forgive you when you look at me like this...." I blushed as he reached for my hand to play with my fingers.
"Yer blushing!"
"Am not..." I whispered, brushing my fingers through his quiff.
"I love you Jackie, I want you to forgive me."
"I do you big dork...come here and give me a hug."
He grinned, clambering up next to me and tackling me in a giant bear hug.
"I love you Jackie, I always will..." he whispered peppering my face with kisses.
"George, don't!" I giggled, pushing lightly on his chest as I felt butterflies exploding in my stomach.
"Mm, why not? you let Paul kiss you..."
"Paul's not my best friend though!" I laughed as he stopped, but pulled me even closer to him.
"What's that got to do with anything?"
"A lot...I don't ever want to lose you George."
"I promise you, you'll never do anything that will cause me to leave." He muttered, bringing the palm of my hand to his lips and pressing a gentle kiss on it.
"I love you Georgie Porgie Pudding and Pie..." I whispered, nuzzling into his chest.
"I love you too Jack..."
