Chapter 3
June 12th, 1960
4:45pm
"I um..." George glanced nervously between the boy at the door and myself as our eyes were still locked.
"I'm Paul, and you are?" The boy, now know as Paul stepped out of the house and gently shut the door.
"I'm-" I began before George interrupted me.
"Her name is Jacqueline!" Paul and I both glanced at George, as he quickly looked to the ground.
"You can call me Jackie, if you'd like..." I blushed looking down as Paul reached out for my hand while grinning.
"Nice to meet you Jacqueline..." he winked bringing my hand up to meet his luscious pink lips.
"Nice to meet you too..." I blushed as we exchanged another long glance.
"Ahem..." George interrupted the silence by coughing into his balled up fist.
"Oh! Where are my manners? Please come inside!" Paul exclaim still holding onto my hand as a now seemingly irritated George pushed his way into the house.
"So if you're the Jackie George is always on about, I've heard quite a lot about you." Paul offered his arm which I accepted as we walked into his house.
"All good things I certainly hope..." I blushed as he nodded.
"Honey the way you look, there could only be good things to hear." Paul flirted fluttering his eyelids.
I blushed, "you've got a different accent you must not be from around 'ere."
"I'm American actually."
"Ah, how'd such a cute little American girl get all the way over 'ere to dreary Liverpool?"
He really laid it on thick, this fellow.
"My dad owns a packing plant and relocated over here because the doctors said the change in climate from Arizona to Liverpool might help his asthma."
"Oh, so how long 'ave you-"
"Paulie get your ass in here! We've got stuff to do!" A male bellowed from the next room.
"Coming John! Sorry about that Love, now then how long 'ave you lived here?" Paul moved his hand down to the small of my back, carefully guiding me to the next room.
I blushed, this guy was good at laying down the charm, almost too good.
"Oh since I was about two..."
"Really? How old are you now?"
"Seventeen" I smirked as we locked eyes before stepping into the next room.
He licked his lips before opening his mouth to say something when another boy appeared in the doorway.
"Paul what the hell- well, hello there pretty bird..." the newest boy smirked.
"This is Jacqueline from America." Paul said as the boy held his hand out to me.
"Hello Jacqueline from America, I'm John from Liverpool." I giggled shaking John's hand.
"Nice to meet you John from Liverpool" I laughed as he grinned down at me.
"Well Love, as much as I'd like to continue this I'm afraid we can't because we 'ave to practice, and we're missing our drummer."
I nodded spotting George sitting on a sofa, eyes fixed directly on me with a discouraged glance. I moved into the room heading for the spot next to George, causing him to flash a grin.
"Love? Sit next to me?" I felt a light tug on my arm, I turned to see Paul smirking and pointing to the smaller love-seat. I glanced up at him, hope flashing in his big hazel eyes, and then back to George, who now wore a disgusted look.
"Well...o..ok Paul." I nodded causing him to grin and direct me onto the small sofa next to him. George however, never once looked up from his guitar during the whole practice.

2 hours later
"Jacqueline?" Paul whispered, causing me to turn and look at him as George put his guitar away.
"Yes?" I cocked an eyebrow as he smiled down at me licking his lips, before running his hand up and down my arm causing goosebumps to form on my skin. He bent down closer to my ear, his hot breath on my skin causing a blush to breakout on my cheeks.
"Do you think I could 'ave yer number?"
I nodded looking around for a scrap of paper, my gaze meeting an aggravated George. He had just watched this whole ordeal go down, and now I felt quite bad.
"Um do you have any paper?
"Yeah, let me go fetch some!" He went to scurry out of the room.
"Oh! And Paul?" I shouted after him making him turn back around, eyes locked directly on me a smile playing on his perfect, plush, pink lips.
"A pen too?" I blushed as he nodded and headed off soon followed by John who had to "nip off to the pisser." Leaving me with a very quiet George. I looked back over to George expecting to see him still on the sofa, however to my surprise he was right behind me.
"Are you almost ready Jackie?" He asked playing with a strand of my hair, his gaze avoiding my eyes.
"Yeah just um, let Paul get back with the pen and stuff so I can give him my number."
This instantly earned an eye roll from George, he let out a suppressed sigh of irritation. "Jackie, I can give it to him fer you, now can we please just go?" He whispered impatiently.
"But George!" I nearly whined not really trusting that he would give my number to Paul. "Here we are Miss Jacqueline!" Paul cheered offering me the pen and paper.
"Oh, thank you Paul..." I said quietly as he watched me write down the numbers on the paper intently. I blushed, glancing up to meet his gaze before letting out a quiet laugh.
"Here you go." I gently slipped him the paper, as he took hold of it making sure to brush his fingers across mine while he did so. "Thank you..." I nodded turning to see George impatiently tapping his foot.
"Are you ready Georgie?" He nodded, quickly grabbing all his belongs. And ushering me to the door.
"Oh Jacqueline! I'll call you tomorrow around, let's say seven pm?" Paul grinned, as I blushed and nodded. "Of course!" I shouted out before George pushed me through the door, slamming it with vexed force.
This caused me to shoot him a confused look, "don't look at me like that..." he muttered walking ahead of me a few steps. "George! Wait..."
"What?" He snapped pausing his strides and turning to look at me with an expectant gaze. Taken aback by the tone of his voice, I simply shrugged as we began to walk again. The air now seeming to loom over us. "Would you like me to walk you home? I'm sure you'd like to be there when Paulie rings yer bell...." he broke the silence.
"George..." I scoffed, "what crawled up your ass and died? Also it's only like four o'clock, I don't want to go home yet."
"Maybe I should take you back to Paul's then, you two seemed thick as thieves over on the sofa." He growled as I instantly recalled the events on the sofa.
"Jacqueline you can sit closer to me y'know...I won't bite."
"Well, ok." I nodded scooting closer to Paul, as he patted at the spot he wanted me to sit .
When I reached the spot he was patting, we were a little close together for two people that had just met. Paul leaned over towards me lips just brushing against my ear, as he said,
"Unless you want me to bite of course, then I'd be more than happy too accommodate." I blushed bright red, giggling softly as I glanced over at John who raised a questioning eyebrow, and then over to a peeved George who sat glaring at Paul.
"Oh George! Come on I didn't do anything wrong, besides let's just forget about it. I want to spend my remaining free hours with you doing something fun."
He blushed, running a hand through his hair and grinning. "Alright let's go by my house though and drop my stuff off first."
Once we got to his house his mom was waiting for us on the stoop, "something wrong mum?" George asked as she gave us a questioning look.
"No, no I just wanted some fresh air." She smiled as I gave her a hug.
"Ok, we just came to drop my stuff off and then head back out..." George entered the house and ran up the stairs with his things, and then ran back down.
"Ready to go?" He flashed an award winning smile, putting his 'fangs' on full display for the world.
"Of course!" I nodded, as he threw an arm around my shoulder.

Same day
"C'mon Jackie let me push you on the swings just once!"
We had gone to the park and were currently fooling around on the play area equipment. "Georgie, last time you pushed me it didn't end well."
"I'll be extra careful this time! Please Jackie?" He pouted again, eyes boring into mine.
"Alright fine..."
"Yay!" He tugged me toward the swing, gently pushing me into it, and running behind me to start pushing.
"Wait Jackie stand back up." I turned looking at him in confusion.
"I want to stand on the back of the swing while you're sitting on it." He smiled as I instantly shook my head.
"No George! Someone will get hurt..."
"It'll be ok trust me!"
"Alright..." I sat down on the edge of the swing griping the chains holding the swing to the swing set for dear life.
"Ere we go!" He exclaimed using a leg to push us forward. We went forward alright, especially me nearly face planting on the ground.
"Oh shit! Jackie are you ok?" George laughed moving to crouch down next to me as I turned around looking at him, from my spot on the ground.
"Yeah..." I tried to keep a straight face but it dissolved as soon as I looked up at his smiling face, beginning to laugh with him.
"Ok, are you sure?" I nodded as he paused as if listening for something for a second. "Hey do you hear that music?"
"No" I shook my head as he grabbed my hand and headed off through the park.
"George wha-" I was cut off by the music flowing out of the pavilion, and about twenty to thirty old men and women dancing.
"What's happening?" I whispered,
"Come dance with me Jackie!" George exclaimed grinning, pulling me into the middle of the crowd and wrapping his arms around my waist.
"George, I don't know how to dance..."
He chuckled leaning down to my ear, "I don't either...Just put your arms around me and sway back and forth."
I nodded, blushing as I did as he told me, and we "danced".
"I'm glad I'm 'ere with you Jacqueline..." he whispered lightly, pecking the side of my temple lightly.
"I'm glad too Georgie" I blushed.
