Chapter 29
August 16, 1960
7:56 p.m.
"Tomorrow's the day then?" George's brother, Harry asked as he sat across the table from us in the dimly lit restaurant.
There had been a change of plans, as George had begged his mother not to throw a going away party. Instead they had both settled on a family dinner and I got to stay overnight at their house.
"Yeah." He nodded, a tinge of sadness washing over his face as he reached for my hand, giving it a firm squeeze.
"Jackie gets to go visit him in September though." Mrs. Harrison informed, grinning widely as she did so.
"I'm sure he's excited for that." Harry quipped, playfully narrowing his eyes at his younger brother.
I blushed, listening to George grunt quietly and glare over at his brother.
"Leave them be." Their mother corrected, shaking her head before reaching over to pat my free hand.
"You'll come visit me even when George is gone won't you?"
"Of course I will." I grinned, scooting closer to George in the cramped little booth we had all crammed into.
"She told me she'll be over to 'ave tea with you every other week." George added, winking at me before placing a gentle kiss on my nose.
"That'll be nice."
"Do you have a place to stay when you get to Hamburg?" Mr. Harrison spoke, glancing at me.
"Um, not yet no."
"She'll stay with me." George piped up, wrapping an arm around my shoulders.
His father nodded, inhaling sharply before getting up and sauntering over to the counter so he could pay the bill.
"Well, I guess I'll see you when you get back." Harry smiled, embracing his brother tightly before saying goodbye to his mom and dad.
"You kids ready to go?" Mr. Harrison questioned, we both nodded following him out the door to the car.
"Mum, Dad, would it be ok if Jackie and I walked home?" George asked, his eyes darting back and forth between his parents.
"You don't want to ride in the car?" Mr. Harrison inquired, resting an arm on the roof of the vehicle.
George looked at me raising a bushy brow as if to ask what I wanted.
"Whatever you want to do is fine..." I shrugged, squeezing his hand and looking down at the ground.
"If you want to walk home you can, it's fine with me."
Grinning, George nodded and tugged lightly on my hand as he started to make his way down the quiet street.
"You kids don't be out too late though! You've both got to be up early." Mrs Harrison yelled, before getting into the car.
"We won't!" George assured, waving to his parents one last time before they drove off, as we walked on in silence.
"Are you ok?" I asked, shuffling closer to him.
"Mhm..." He paused, wrapping his arms tightly around me and burying his nose in my hair making me laugh.
"I jus' wanted to be with you alone is all." He added, sighing contentedly when my arms snaked around his torso.
"We've got all night..." I whispered, standing up on my tiptoes to place a tender kiss on his nose.
"Don't remind me."
"I love you, Georgie." My skin breaking out with goosebumps as his calloused fingers rubbed at the nape of my neck.
"I love you too, angel." He murmured, placing his lips against mine in a warm kiss. We stood tangled together in the middle of the sidewalk for a few moments, before continuing our journey to his house.
"You'll probably get me room again, and I'll take the sofa."
I nodded, watching his hand rest on the door knob of his house, "you'll probably sneak up the stairs again though, right?"
He chuckled, "of course I will, I 'ave trouble falling asleep when yer not beside me all soft an' warm."
Blushing, I wrapped my arms around him to give him one last kiss before entering his house. He hummed, cupping my cheek with his hand as our lips met.
"Why won't you kiss me around me folks?" His lips brushed against mine, making my whole body shiver.
"They might not like it."
"Mm, well just incase..." his nose rubbed against mine, "one more time."
I nodded pressing my lips back onto his, splaying my hand on his chest as he pressed his tongue against the seam of my lips.
He hummed happily when I obliged and opened my mouth, allowing him to deepen the kiss. I shivered at the feeling of his warm hands gliding over my skin, making me cling onto his shirt.
The taste of mint chewing gum and cigarettes, mixed with the feeling of his soft lips and warm body pressed against mine was intoxicating.
"You kids almost ready to come inside?"
My eyes fluttered open quickly, as we both pulled away from one another in a rush. Mr. Harrison stood leaning in the doorway with a smirk painted across his features.
"Y-yeah, Yes sir..." George stuttered, blushing deeply as he avoided all eye contact with his father.
Mr. Harrison chuckled, ushering us inside before winking at me, making my cheeks turn even redder. How I hadn't heard the door open I had no idea.
"Jackie, you can take his bed...." Mr. Harrison paused, eyeing George carefully as he motioned towards George's room with his thumb.
"George, you sleep downstairs on the couch." He added, smirking when George nodded and squeezed my hand before trudging over to the couch.

"Jackie, I want you closer...c'mere..." George whined, practically pulling me on top of him.
"Georgie...your parents said you're not even supposed to be in here." I giggled, as he shushed me.
"They'll be in 'ere too if you don't shut up." He mumbled, burying his nose in my hair.
"I'm sorry, I'll stop talking to you until I drop you off at the train station tomorrow." I joked, rolling off of him and onto the empty side of the bed.
"You better not! Get back over 'ere..."
"No, I'm going to sleep." I giggled, curling up in the sheets.
"Bullshit if you are..." he tittered, letting one of his arms snake around my waist allowing him to pull me closer.
"Flip over..."
"Why? My gosh you're so demanding tonight."
"I wanna look at you..." He mumbled lightly against my ear.
"What?" I whispered, turning over so I could face him.
"I want to look at you while you sleep..." he blushed when I shot him a weird look.
"I'm not sure if I should be flattered or creeped out." I laughed, causing him to shake his head and roll his eyes.
"That's not how I meant it..." he smiled shyly, burying his face into my hair.
"Really?" I giggled, cocking an eyebrow as I looked into his eyes.
"I don't want to miss anything you do tonight, because it's our last night together fer awhile." He explained, as I blushed scooting closer to him.
"You can be so sweet sometimes..." I whispered, as he pulled me snugly against his chest.
"Mm..." he hummed placing gentle kisses from my temple to my jaw.
"I'm always sweet, princess."
"Not when you're being cocky...."
"Especially when 'm cocky..." he smirked against my skin, as he kissed from my nose down to my lips.
"Cut it out..." I chuckled lightly pushing on his shoulder.
"Fine." He whispered, wrapping himself around me and resting his head on my chest.
"George!" I squealed, blushing furiously as he nuzzled his head onto my boobs.
"You make such a nice pillow, Jackie." He grinned, gazing up at me.
"Just go to sleep..." I muttered running my fingers through his hair, and placing a light kiss on his temple.
"No...I'm quiet content being awake." He grinned cheekily.
"Georgie..." I yawned, wrapping an arm around him, "It's late and you have to get up early."
"Alright, But not until you give me a goodnight smooch."
"You're such a cheese sometimes..." I whispered, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead as he scooted back up into his original spot, wrapping his arms around me.
"On the lips..." he mumbled hovering over me, as my cheeks heated up when my lips met his soft plump ones.
"Will you miss me, princess?" He whispered, lightly pecking the corner of my mouth.
"Of course I will...nobody will be around to cuddle me at night." I blushed, feeling a bit nervous thinking about George's departure tomorrow.
"There's still time Y'know...you can come with me." He rested his chin on the top of my head.
"George, you know I can't and besides that it's only sixteen days. It'll go fast, my love." I soothed kissing his sharp jawline.
He nodded, as I turned resting my head on his chest and he played with the fingers on my hand I had laid on his chest.
"Will you miss me?"
"More than you could even imagine, love." He yawned, as I closed my eyes and started to drift off to sleep.
"I love you, princess..." he mumbled, burying his nose in my hair before letting out a contented sigh.

5:30 am
"Jacqueline! It's time to get up." Mrs. Harrison knocked rapidly on the door, causing my eyes to fly open.
"Thank You, Mrs. Harrison!" I shouted, sitting up on the bed, watching the door knob twist before George flew into the room.
"Good morning, lovey." He grinned, climbing up on the bed and pulling the covers back up over us. I giggled letting him pull me back down tightly against his chest.
"Georgie, c'mon you gotta get up you don't want to be late." I giggled, poking his nose lightly with my finger.
"Mh, just cuddle with me a little longer it's our last time to fer a long time..." He croaked, voice still laced with sleep.
"George, no you haven't even packed yet. C'mon, silly boy get up." I giggled, rolling over him off the bed.
"Hey!" He shouted, sitting up grabbing at my arm, pulling me into his lap.
"What now?"
"Good morning, darling." He whispered, kissing the space between my nose and lips causing me to blush furiously.
"Good morning to you too, Georgie." I mumbled, running a hand through his flattened hair.
"Look, I've got to go take a shower. You need to be packed by the time I'm out and done with my hair and makeup."
He nodded, wrapping his arm tighter around me. "You never gave me a good morning kiss..." he pouted, pointing to his lips.
"You never gave me one either..." I teased raising an eyebrow at him, he growled narrowing his eyes slightly.
"I'll kiss you good morning if you get right up and start packing after I do. Is it a deal?"
"Absolutely!"
I giggled rolling my eyes, as I leaned in and gently pressed my lips against his. He hummed content that his wish had been granted. His hand cupping my cheek, as his thumb lightly stroked the side of my face.
"Alright, now get your ass ready or I'm calling your mom up here." I mumbled, my lips brushing against his, his brown orbs remaining closed like he was in some sort of daze.
"One more..." he whined quietly, smacking his lips back onto mine.
"Thats enough, now go get packed." I laughed pulling away from him, grabbing my overnight bag I had packed and scurrying into the bathroom to get ready.
"I need help!" He shouted running down the hallway after me, vigorously twisting the bathroom door's handle.
"George! Leave her be and get ready, you leave in two hours!" His mother shouted, making me laugh.
"Georgie porgie, I'll help you when I'm done, ok?" I whispered, cracking the door open just enough to see the sullen look on his face dissolve.
"Alright, Jack..."
"Don't call me Jack."
"Don't call me Georgie Porgie." He smiled, playfully glaring at me before he headed back down the hall to his room.

7:10 a.m.
"You're absolutely sure you've packed everything?" Mrs. Harrison questioned, giving George one last hug.
"Yes mum, Jackie helped me get all me ducks in a row." He grinned, squeezing her tightly and pecking her cheek.
"Alright, have fun and be safe, call me when you get there."
"I will mum, I love you. Tell dad I said goodbye." George hugged her one last time, before tugging me out the door with him.
We walked mainly in silence to the station, hand in hand just enjoying being in each other's company.
"I love you, Miss Matthews..."
"I love you too." I murmured, glancing up into the deep velvety brown orbs I would grow to miss terribly.
"The train doesn't leave until seven thirty so let's sit and wait fer the others, Yeah?"
I nodded huddling up next to him on the bench, resting my head on his chest and listening to his heartbeat. He chuckled playing with the ends of my hair.
"Promise you won't go find some other lad?" He teased, quickly darting his tongue out to lick his bottom lip.
"I promise, and besides you've branded me with this bracelet." I tittered, twisting the bangle around on my wrist.
"Good, because yer mine." He whispered breathily, leaning his forehead against mine and rubbing his nose against mine.
I hummed pressing my lips against his firmly, his hand moving from the ends of my hair to the nape of my neck.
"I hope I get the same goodbye he does." John laughed, interrupting us as he began scooting George over so he could sit on the bench with us.
"Has either of you seen Paul or Stu?" John asked once he had sat down, forcing me to sit on George's lap.
"No, what happened to Pete?"
"Left yesterday to get everything settled."
George nodded, pecking my temple softly making my cheeks flush red.
"Yer making 'er blush, did you two dance the goats jig last night?" John jeered, nudging George with his elbow.
"Depends who's asking."
"So you still haven't had yer dick wet."
"John -" George started, tightening his grip around my waist as he leaned forward slightly.
"Finally!" John shouted interrupting George when he spied Paul and Stu heading towards us, suitcases in hand.
"The train leaves in about ten minutes." John taunted, Paul rolled his eyes before winking and smiling over at me.
"Jacqueline from America, come give Johnny a hug." He held his arms open, watching me attempt to squirm out of George's grip.
"Share 'er for a second, yeah?" John cocked an eyebrow at George who mumbled something under his breath.
"Bye, John from Liverpool." I giggled as he pulled me into a warm hug.
"See you in a bit, little Miss Jacqueline from the ever smiling America."
We both laughed as he gave me one last quick hug before heading off to board the train with Stu, who simply smiled and waved.
"Bye, Jackie..." Paul murmured, kissing the top of my hand before pulling me into a side hug.
"Bye, Paulie...." I paused hugging him back. "Have loads of fun alright?"
He nodded, grinning shyly before heading off to board the train with his suitcase in hand.
"What about yer boyfriend?" George quipped, wrapping his arms around me from behind.
"What about him?" I teased, turning my head to look at him.
"I should hope you'd tell the poor lad goodbye." He smirked, gazing down at me with admiration.
"I love you, George and I -"
"The train is leaving in five, Harrison! So do whatever you gotta do quickly." John shouted out the window interrupting our moment, offering me a wink before slamming the window shut.
George glared shaking his head in John's general direction before mumbling what sounded like, "fucking hell" under his breath.
"I love you too, you'll be the first one I call when I get there, ok?"
"You have -"
He silenced me by smashing his lips down onto mine. I squeaked delightedly, as he tilted his head to avoid bumping our noses together. Pulling my body tighter against his, gently bringing his hand up to run his thumb across my cheek.
"I'll call you before I call me mum, so be ready..." he whispered, his swollen lips brushing against mine.
"George, I-" he cradled the back of my head, bringing his lips down onto mine again, humming happily as I grabbed at his shirt lightly, wanting to melt into him.
"I love you Jacqueline Marie Matthews, be ready for me call..." he whispered, kissing the shell of my ear before winking and running off the get on the train.
"I love you too!" I hollered, watching him run off, savoring the events that had just happened. My stomach twisting, as I reached up and lightly touched my lips trying not to let a tear slip from my eye.
Little did either of us know that someone had seen the whole event go down while waiting to catch the morning train to London.
