8:30 p.m.
"Jackie, your mum is on the phone!" Mr. Harrison bellowed, peeking his head out from around the wall to look at George and I sitting on the couch.
His parents had been out at dinner with the neighbors, and were absolutely thrilled when George had told them we were now dating.
"Thank you, Mr. Harrison!" I yelled, scrambling up off the sofa and heading towards him.
"Hello?"
"Sorry I was working on paperwork at the office when you called, I'm getting ready to head over so I'll be there in about five minutes, ok?"
"Alright, I'll see you soon then."
"I love you."
"I love you too, mom." I replied quickly before placing the phone down and going to say goodbye to everyone.
"Are you leaving?" George spoke quietly watching me, while he barely perched on the edge of the sofa.
"I'm afraid so."
He nodded, standing and pulling me up with him. His parents glanced over at us smirking as his father began to speak, "leaving, Jackie?"
"Yeah, my mom will be here in a few minutes."
"It was nice seeing you, dear." Mrs. Harrison interjected, coming over to give me a hug.
"It was nice to see you guys too." I smiled, hugging her back and then giving Mr. Harrison a handshake before following George out the door.
"I'll be over around nine thirty then, yeah?" He mumbled, picking my suitcase up and lugging it out onto the porch with us.
"If you want."
"You know I do." He smirked, pecking my lips quickly as the headlights of my mother's car practically blinded us.
"How cute!" She squealed, leaning her head out the window and throwing us her infectiously wide smile.
"Mom..." I giggled quietly, watching George wink before hauling my suitcase over to the car, placing it in the backseat like my mother told him too.
"I'll see you gals later then..." George chuckled, opening the car door for me and helping me slide in before gently pushing it closed.
"Bye, George!" Mom shouted, waving as she backed down the driveway and watching him walked back towards his house.
"Well, did you have fun?"
"Bunches and bunches." I smiled, twisting the bangle on my wrist around, blushing as I dreamily thought back to George giving it to me.
"Good, now remember if your father asks you were at grandma's ok?"
I nodded, stretching my arms out as a yawn escaped my lips. I could hardly wait for my head to hit the pillow, all the driving and sitting in the car had made me quiet tired.
"Let's get you home and into bed." She laughed speeding up slightly, driving down the nearly empty streets of the neighborhood.
"Go on inside, and I'll send dad out for your things." She spoke, turning the car off and walking up the driveway next to me.
"Is my little girl home?"
"Yes, dad." I shouted, smiling slightly when he popped out from around the corner to give me a hug.
"How was grandma?"
"She's doing well, I'm really tired though so I think I'm going to head upstairs to bed."
He nodded, looking over at my mother who began to tell him he needed to get my suitcase out of the car.
I laughed quietly hearing him sigh before opening the door to my room, and kicking my shoes off to plop down onto the bed.
Letting out a strangled yawn I rolled over onto my stomach, fluttering my eyes shut and allowing myself to dose off into a dreamless slumber for a bit before being woken up by a light tapping sound.
Sitting up, I glanced over at the clock before looking over to see George tapping on the glass of my window.
"You're late." I teased, easing the window up to allow him access into my room.
"Cause you were to busy sleeping to let me in."
"I wasn't sleeping." I lied, turning on my heel only to have George spin me back around to face him.
"Why are you blushing and trying not to laugh then?" He grinned, poking my sides quickly making me laugh.
"Shh, yer too loud." He whispered, clamping a hand down over my mouth, walking us back until he could gently push me back onto the bed.
"Were you really out there that long?" I asked, running my fingers through his gelled locks.
He chuckled, propping himself up on his elbow, "no, I fell asleep fer a bit and woke up and saw I was late so I ran over 'ere."
"Georgie, if you're sleepy you didn't have to come over."
"I wanted to though, I also want to take you on our first proper date tomorrow."
"A real date?"
"Yeah, I mean...we don't 'ave to if you don't want. I-I just thought, Y'know we could go to dinner-
"Georgie, you know I'll go on a date with you."
"Gear! I'll come get you around six then." He cheered, his eyes widening when he realized how loudly he had spoke.
"And you said I was the loud one..." I quipped, flicking him on the shoulder.
"Sod off..." he tittered wrapping an arm over me to pull me closer to him, moving my hair to the side so he could place delicate kisses on my jaw.
"You'll have to send somebody to the door to get me."
"What do you mean?"
"My dad will be home."
"I'll send John to the door and then I'll wait down the street, savvy?"
"Savvy..." I giggled, pressing my lips to his quickly before flipping over.
"Goodnight, Georgie." I mumbled burying my face into the pillow my head rested on.
"Goodnight, princess..." he paused, burying his nose in my now messy pile of smashed curls. "I love you..." he added, pecking my ear lightly before pulling the blankets up over us.
"I love you too..."

6:03 p.m.
I stood in my room anxiously looking over my outfit of a simple black skirt and nylons with a lavender colored shirt. Sighing, I rushed back into the bathroom glancing at the clock on my way by.
"Three minutes late..." I mused, applying another coat of mascara to my lashes before I heard shuffling around downstairs and my mom calling for my dad to get the door.
"Jacqueline, there's someone at the door for you."
My stomach churned nervously as I screwed the cap back onto the tube of makeup, and quickly slipped my shoes onto my feet.
"Do you know this boy?" My father asked, eyeing John suspiciously from the corner of his eye.
"Yes, dad this is John, John this is my father."
John nodded slightly, reaching for my dad's hand to give it a firm squeeze.
"Are you ready to go out, darling?" John sneered, licking his lips as his eyes wandered up my legs to the hem of my skirt.
"Jacqueline, you're not going on a date with him are you?" My father asked, knitting his eyebrows together as he glared over at John, who now leaned against the doorframe smirking.
"Um-"
"Sir, It was last minute I called 'er and asked 'er to come out and play on this fine evening." John interrupted, winking as he looked over at my now silent father.
"You can go, but don't be doing any 'playing' I wouldn't approve of do you understand?"
"Yes, dad." I nodded, looking from my father's slightly red face over to a grinning John who held his arm out for me.
"Have her back by nine, and not one minute later do you understand?"
"Yes sir! Scouts honor!" John quipped, raising his right hand in the air, making me laugh as my dad shook his head and closed the door.
"Thanks for doing this, John."
"Yer gonna owe me one."
"Owe you one what?" I questioned, looking at him as he grinned devilishly, licking his thin lips before opening then to speak.
"A blowy would be nice, but I suppose I'll jus' settle fer a pint." He joked, laughing at himself quietly before glancing at me to see my reaction.
"You're terrible..." I chuckled, pulling my arm out of his grasp and walking with him the rest of the way to George.
"Hello, kitten..." George smiled widely, watching me take quick steps over to his side to get away from John.
"Hi." I greeted, standing on my top toes to kiss his cheek.
"Alright, Alright, save yer lovey dovey shite fer later and just 'ave her back 'ere by nine." John smirked, rolling his eyes as he watched George rub his nose against mine.
"Ok, thank you John." George spoke, grasping my hand in his and looking over at John who nodded and cutting through somebody's yard, leaving George and I alone.
"Let's get going, yeah?"
I nodded squeezing his hand tightly as we began walking down the street, as though we were joined at the hip.
"This feels nice, y'know?"
"What does?" I questioned, squinting up at him slightly and blushing when he began rubbing his thumb over the top of my hand.
"Relaxing at home with me girl...." he paused blinking down at me slowly, grinning when I pressed my lips against the corner of his mouth.
"Where are we going?"
"Diner on Lord street." He smiled widely exposing his fangs, making me giggle at how cute he was.
"What?"
"Nothing, you're just cute..."
He snorted playfully rolling his eyes and shaking his head, "Not nearly as cute as you are."
"That's right, because you're cuter." I winked, watching his cheeks turn rosy and his mouth pop open in response to my answer.
"Fine, I may be cuter than you but I'm not anywhere near as breathtaking, kitten." He smiled, chuckling lightly when my cheeks turned red.
"Lies..." I teased pointing an accusing finger at him, laughing shyly when he halted our walking and pulled me closer to him.
"'Ave I ever lied to you?" He smirked exhaling lightly through his nose, making me feel hot when his warm minty breath combined with stale cigarette smoke fanned across my face.
"Well-"
"Don't bring up Neil from grade three either."
"Well, I guess when we counter that out then no..." I whispered, standing on my tiptoes to peck his nose.
"That's what I thought." He murmured proudly, snaking an arm around my waist and placing a warm kiss on my lips, before walking the rest of the way to the diner and sharing a basket of chips, chattering away about random things.
"I most certainly am bad."
I snorted rolling my eyes, "believe what you want, Georgie."
He raised his eyebrows smirking as he licked his lips, "watch this then..."
"What're..." I paused watching him wave over to the waiter, who immediately rushed over to the table.
"Is there something wrong?"
"No, no, nothings wrong it's just today is my birthday and I was wondering-"
The waiter grinned widely, "say no more! I'll be right back, ok?"
George chuckled looking over at me, when I kicked his foot under the table.
"You just lied." I tittered, smiling when I watched the corner of his lips turn up into a smile.
"I know and now we're getting free cake." He winked, reaching for my hand across the table.
"You're such a weird boy."
"But I'm yer weird boy..." he grinned widely, slipping out of his side of the booth and sliding over next to me.
"Don't you 'ave a kiss fer the birthday boy?" He whispered, scooting towards me until he could wrap his arm around me.
"I do, but sadly you'll have to wait until your actual birthday."
"Why can't I 'ave it early?" He inched forward licking his lips.
"Won't be as special..." I gulped, looking at his pools of velvety brown that bored into me.
"It's as special as you make it, darling." He murmured, lips inches from mine, our eyes looking down at each other's lips.
"On the-" I started quietly, my eyes fluttering shut when I felt his lips meld with mine in a soft kiss.
"Shut up, you always 'ave to think yer right..." he teased, sneaking a hand down onto my knee and squeezing it lightly.
"Your cake is coming." I chuckled, slightly pointing over his shoulder at the waiter approaching us with a large slice of cake.
Smiling, he nodded pressing another warm kiss onto my lips before fixing his position in the booth so that he faced the table.
"Happy birthday!" He cheered, sliding the cake over in front of George.
"Thank you!"
"Absolutely, enjoy." The man smiled, patting George on the shoulder before hurrying back into the kitchen.
"There's only one fork, looks like we'll 'ave to share." He grinned, picking the fork up and shoveling some of the cake into his mouth.
"What happened to ladies first?" I joked watching him snort, holding the cake loaded fork in front of me.
"Eat it."
I giggled, opening my mouth wide enough to allow him to feed me. "Can we bake a cake tomorrow after yer parents leave?"
"We'll have to go shopping for ingredients."
He nodded, "What time should we go?"
"They're supposed to be leaving around nine, so come over at nine thirty maybe?"
"Ace!" He cheered kissing my cheek before shoving the last bit of cake into his mouth.
"Let's get out of 'ere then before they find out we lied, Yeah? We can go to the pier."
"Where are you getting this we? It was you that lied mister." I laughed, blushing when he rested his forehead against mine.
"I love you."
"I love you too, Georgie." I mumbled, feeling my cheeks heat up when our lips connected once again.
"We can look at the stars fer a bit."
I nodded, shuffling closer to him and reaching up to hold the hand that was connected to his arm he had draped over my shoulder.
Walking in a comfortable silence the whole way save for the giggling that happened when one of us caught the other looking at them.
"Sit with me, lovey." He whispered, plopping down on the grass and patting the spot beside him, gazing up at me with wide eyes.
I snickered sinking down next to him and nestling into his chest when his arms snaked around me. I fluttered my eyes shut, blushing as his humming made his chest vibrate.
"Yer beautiful..."
"What do you want?" I joked glancing up at him and pecking his cheek.
"You..." He smirked, making a gentle trail of kisses from my nose to my lips. The combination of his lips and hand traveling up my back to play with the ends of my hair making me shudder, and lean into him more.
"I love you, princess."
"I love you much more."
"Impossible..."
"I disagree." I argued, grabbing at his wrist so I could check the time on his watch.
"We're going to be late."
"We 'ave fifteen minutes."
"But it takes about ten to get from here to my house."
"But, Jacqueline...." he whined, blinking down at me with his bottom lip jutted out.
"We have to meet John too, so come on." I chuckled, extending my hand out to help pull him up. He huffed, getting up off the ground and dusting himself off before we began walking to my house hand in hand.
"Can I come over tonight?"
"You know you can." I giggled, pulling him closer and resting my head on his shoulder as we continued to walk down the street.
"I can't wait until we never 'ave to be apart again." He mumbled, kissing the top of my head gently as we halted our walking and waited for John at the place we last saw him.
"I can just take you the rest of the way." George stated, beginning to get impatient with waiting.
"But dad-"
"Look who finally showed up!" John yelled, his words coming out slightly slurred.
"Great, you've gone out and gotten sozzled!"
"'M not completely, so fuck off Harrison! Jus' hand over the bird..."
"Yer not taking 'er anywhere, c'mon kitten I'll walk you home and leave when you get inside." George motioned for John to go away, lightly tugging my arm and ignoring my objections.
"George, I don't want dad to-"
"He won't find out alright? I promise it'll be ok." He soothed, gripping my hand tighter as we trekked along.
"I'll be back later, ok?" He spoke softly, standing on the bottom step and watching me climb the others.
I nodded, leaning down to peck his lips softly, "thank you for taking me out."
"Anything for me girl..." he winked, tugging my hair lightly making me giggle. "Now get inside before you get in trouble."
"Fine, I'll see you later, Georgie." I whispered, kissing him one last time before going inside and waiting for nine thirty to roll around.
