Chapter 2
June 12th,1960
7:00 am
"Jacqueline! Get up and get ready for school!" My mom yelled, "I'm up!"
Little did she know I'd be skipping in order to hang out with George today. I got up brushed my teeth and showered, then fixed my hair and did my usual eye makeup. I rushed over to my closet and pulled out a simple black dress and black nylons, with black shoes and threw on George's jacket, before grabbing my school bag and rushing down the stairs.
I grabbed a slice of bread and quickly popped it into the toaster, as my mom walked into the kitchen. Digging around in her purse, she pulled out five dollars for my lunch money.
"Here's you're lunch money sweetie- where did you get that jacket?"
"Thanks! George gave it to me." I blushed as I quickly turned to grab my toast.
"Ok, well I have to go to work so if you go anywhere other than George's house or home after you get out of school let me know." I nodded, taking a bite out of my toast.
"Bye Mom!" I yelled as she kissed my cheek and ran out the door. I scarfed down the rest of my toast, and picked up my school bag and carried it back up to my room and plopped it down on my bed so it looked like I had taken it to school.
Then I raced back down the stairs and out the door and began making my way to the school. It was a bright sunny June morning it was kinda chilly though. I blushed as I wrapped George's jacket around me tighter, it smelled like him.
"Hey! That's a nice jacket you got on little lady..." A familiar Scouse accent shouted.
"Thanks my best friend gave it to me..."
George chuckled, wrapping his arm around my shoulders, "well between you and me..." he began to whisper leaning in closer to my ear.
"Your best friend must really care about you." I blushed, playfully swatting at his hand that was attached to the arm draped around my shoulders.
"Did you call the school?"
"Yes love, I told them you weren't feeling quite up to par."
"Thanks Georgie!" I snuggled closer to him, as he wrapped his arm tighter around me. "Anything for you, Jackie..." we walked in comfortable silence to the cinema.
"George what movie are we gonna see?" I piped up as we stood in the line waiting for our tickets.
"House on Haunted Hill..." he smirked pulling me closer as people rushed around us to get to the right movie and get snacks.
"Oh George, Daniel said that's a scary movie he saw it last week." His smile fell at the mention of Daniel, "It's just a movie Jackie, if you get scared you can crawl into me lap." He gave my shoulder a loving squeeze.
"George, do you promise?"
"Scouts honor love" he smirked holding up his right hand.

"Here's the popcorn George..." I giggled quietly as he felt around in the dark for the bucket of buttery goodness.
"Thanks love..." he mumbled dipping his hand in the bucket and shoving a handful of popcorn into his mouth. I carefully took a few pieces and directed my gaze up to the screen, we were about half an hour in and it really wasn't that bad yet. I reached in the back into the popcorn bucket for a few more pieces when I felt something move.
I looked down, only to be greeted by the sight of George's hand. I quickly pulled my hand back and looked up only to be met with George looking directly at me. "Sorry Georgie..." I mumbled looking back up at the screen.
"S'okay, love..." he whispered pulling me towards him. I blushed, and was immediately thankful for the darkness of our surroundings. I looked away from the screen for a moment over to George, I took in the way his pale skin glowed in the light from the movie screen giving him a somewhat ethereal appearance, and outlining his cheekbones.
Five seconds later a bloodcurdling scream ripped through the theater. I jerked my head back towards the screen to see a jump scare, I was not expecting to see. I inhaled deeply before shoving my face into George's shoulder. "It's ok... look it's over." He wrapped a protective arm around me.
"George I don't like this..." I whined softly into his ear, "I should've just went to school."
"C'mon love don't say that, we were having such a good time." He gently kissed my temple causing me to blush, "we can leave if you want to..."
I shook my head, "no Georgie it's ok, I'm alright I'm just being a pussy."
He laughed, "you're not a pussy..."

Same day
12:30 pm
"Jack! C'mere!"
"George! Don't call me that it sounds too manly!" I growled scowling at him as he chuckled.
We had been at Blacklers for three hours and had god knows how many hours left to go until George's shift ended. He had quickly, but not so much neatly dusted everything he was required to, while I walked around in the store looking at things. His rushed job of things earning several glares, and derogatory remarks under the breath from his manager.
"Jackie please?" He pouted his lips, his big brown eyes, seemingly grew even larger than they already appeared. I couldn't resist not doing what he asked when he looked at me like that. "Ok Georgie..." I blushed as he grinned down at me.
"Great! C'mon then!" He whispered excitedly, pulling me along gently by the hand to the lift. "George...what're you doing?" I asked as the lift doors closed and he quickly opened the small trap door in the lift's ceiling.
"Don't freak out, but I'm going to cause the lift to malfunction so we get stuck and then we'll sneak out and play darts."
"George! We'll get in trouble!"
"Nonsense, I've done this twenty times at least." He grinned, "Plus with Mr. Peet away I'm the only one who can fix the lift when it um- ahh! 'Ere we go!"
I giggled, "You're a naughty boy George Harrison..." I teased, "but you love me." He grinned.
"Ok pretty lady first, I'm going to 'elp you out." He got down on one knee and cupped his hands, "step onto me hands and I'll push you up ok?" I nodded a bit unsure of all this, once he pushed me up I climbed out onto the top of the lift, George pulled himself up.
"Ok Jackie, this way." He motioned with his head as he helped me onto the narrow concrete slab against the wall, it soon ended at a narrow door which he kicked open. "George what is this place?" I snickered taking in the small rooms drab surroundings. "It's a break room of sorts, well actually it's where me and me co-workers come to skive off work."
I laughed, as he smirked down at me before heading over to the small fridge in the corner. "Want a pint, or two, or three?" He joked pulling out two brown bottles with the fizzy liquid inside. "Only if your doing it..." he smirked passing me an open bottle.
"Wanna play darts?" He motioned to the small dart board.
"If you'll teach me..."
He smirked, "I'd be more than happy to teach you."
An hour and two pints later, we were still playing, or for me attempting to play darts.
"Jackie you almost 'ad that one on the board!" George exclaimed laughing, as he got up and walked towards me.
"George I'm no good at this..." I pouted as he took my hand with the last dart in it in his even larger hand.
"Ere I'm going to 'elp you..." he whispered in my ear, wrapping his other arm around my waist pulling me closer to him. "Yer so tiny..."
I blushed, "now then look straight at the board, are you looking?" I nodded, "aim the dart for the center of it..." he whispered, his hot breath on my neck making me shiver, as he took my hand with the dart in it and gently threw the dart.
I watched in silence as the dart hit the board right in the middle ring of the board.
"George! Look we did it!" I yelled excitedly as he smiled and laughed. "George! Look we did it!" He mocked me raising his voice to a girlish whimper.
I giggled, "shut up Georgie Porgie Pudding and Pie!" I playfully punched at him, as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me to him. "What 'ave I told you about calling me that?" He smirked down at me devilishly, mischievous glint sparkling in his brown eyes.
"George please, I didn't mean it..." I tried to pull away but his grip was too strong. "That won't work this time..." he whispered smiling as he cornered me, his hands slowly making their way to my abdomen.
"George, please!" I screeched as he began his "punishment" of tickling me. I laughed until I felt my sides start to ache.
"George! I'm- I can't please stop!" I laughed, as he started to giggle sinking to the floor as his assault continued.
"Ave you learned your lesson?" He shouted above my squeals, smiling down at me.
"Yes!" I nearly screamed.
"Ok then!" He laughed stopping, "god Jackie..." he paused blushing while looking down at me.
"What?" I asked sitting up, and leaning back against the wall.
"You're so cute..." he whispered,
"George don't say that kind of stuff..."
"Why? It's the truth." He grinned looking down at the floor.
"Because it makes my stomach feel weird." I admitted nervously, avoiding his gazing.
He snickered, "I suppose we should be heading back down..."
I nodded as I accepted his outstretched hand, and he pulled me up.

Same day
4:30 pm
"George what if they don't like me?" I questioned, as he shook his head at me. We were currently on the way to one of his band mate's house for band practice.
"Why wouldn't they like you Love?"
"Because I'm American, and I don't have a penis."
"Jacqueline! Fer fucks sake!" He doubled over laughing, as I started to giggle at the insanity of the last statement I made.
"Firstly, they'll like you because you don't 'ave a penis, not only that but yer a total catch so they'll absolutely love you a little too much..." he paused grimacing before continuing, "and secondly who cares if yer American, I've known that since second grade and I'm absolutely crazy over you."
I blushed at his last statement, "ok Georgie." We walked in silence for a bit before I piped up again.
"George?"
"Hmm?"
"Are any of them cute?"
"Who?" He looked at me with widened eyes.
"Y'know your band mates?" His face instantly soured,
"Not cute enough fer you...why would you even ask me that?" I shrugged.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were gonna get so pissy about it."
"I'm not, just I don't trust 'em around you."
"George I've never even been around them and you've been part of this band for three years!"
"I have a reason fer that!"
"Really?" I cocked an eyebrow as he nodded.
"I didn't want...Them to..." he paused thinking for a few minutes.
"You didn't want the to what?" I questioned as we finally reached the house and George hurried me to the door with our arms interlocked.
"I didn't want any of them to take you away from me." He whispered before knocking three times on the door.
"George! That's silly why would-" I was stopped halfway through when the door opened and we were met by a gorgeous set of hazel doe eyes.
"Ello George, um mind introducing me to your pretty little friend there?" The boy looked me up and down before biting his lip and winking at me.
And in that moment I knew that George had lied to me for the second time since our friendship began.
