Toasts with a Smear of Cake
Everyone met under the fairy lights section of the garden as the sun was going down. The garden had a section with some tables put out for all the guests. There was one table that stood out, and of course, it was the one table where Eren and Levi were sitting at. It was in the very front of the space in the dead center. Towards the front near their table were their court and close family.
Their table had a different color tablecloth over it, while everyone else's tables had a white tablecloth, theirs was a deep blue. Everyone was treated to a nice meal which Mina gladly catered and made sure that everything was in the best conditions. She was in charge of the servers making sure everything went smoothly.
It was time for them to give the toasts. Jean and Erwin were told to give their toasts, and they had Hanji and Mikasa also giving a toast too.
Jean was the first up. He looked a little nervous, he never had been great at dealing with emotions, and right now he was feeling a lot of them.
"Hello everyone, I'm Jean, Eren's best man. I've known Eren since we were little, and I've known Levi for eight years now. I have a few things to say to the newlyweds, wow that's weird to say. The reason it's so weird to say is even though they just got married it feels like they've been married for years," Jean smiled, "Their love is unbreakable and never ending, I've never witnessed two people more destined for each other than these two right here." Jean said turning his head to give them a smile.
After Jean finished his speech he walked over and gave Eren and Levi a hug before returning to his seat next to Marco. Erwin was next to take the stand.
He walked up with his head held high honored to be chosen to do the toast for his best friends. He walked up and introduced himself. "Hello, my name is Erwin Smith, and I am Levi's best man. I've known Levi for longer than I care to admit," He said causing everyone to laugh, "I'm just kidding, but Levi and I have known each other for several years now, and I meet Eren around eight years ago. These two have been to hell and back and deserve all the happiness in the world. They had built their lives up from the bottom and now together they are sitting at the top." Erwin turned around to speak to them both on a more personal level. "You two deserve the world," he finished before walking over to give them a hug.
Next up was Hanji. She walked over and instead of standing where everyone else was for the toasts she unhooked the mic from the stand and walked behind where Eren and Levi sat so she was saying what she wanted to them directly.
"Sup," she smiled, "I'm Hanji," she pointed to herself, "these are my boys," she said pinching both Eren and Levi's cheeks. "I am incredibly proud of them, they are living life the way they want to live it. I've heard it all from them, I've heard how many times people have told them to break up because they didn't like it or they thought it was wrong, and rather than listen to those pricks they tied the knot." Hanji said giving them a smile.
"Because no matter what anyone says, these two belong together," Hanji said feeling tears start to come to her eyes. "I've watched these two make it through thick and thin, through better or for worse. They might officially be married now, but all along they already loved each other to the fullest. They knew from the beginning that they were with their special one."
Hanji had said before giving them a hug and whispering to them both that she loved them and she was so happy for them. She had walked the mic back over to the mic stand before taking her seat. Mikasa stood to say the final toast, she was a little nervous, but she knew they would like what she would have to say.
"Hi everyone," she said giving an awkward wave,"I'm Eren's sister, and Levi's now sister-in-law." She smiled liking the sound of that. "From the beginning of their relationship, I knew that my brother found the one. At first, I was a little skeptical, but once I saw how happy my brother was there was no denying it. After a while Levi was like family to me, he was just another brother, now he officially is part of the family and I couldn't be more thrilled." Mikasa said facing towards Levi.
She turned towards Eren a little more so she could talk more personally to him. "I remember around four years back a discussion I had with my brother," she started.
"Oh no," Eren mumbled.
"He told me he used to think relationships were poison, but Levi made him doubt that claim," Mikasa smiled. "Earlier, I had brought the same conversation up to him and I told him that he had found the antidote, but I take back the statement. There is no antidote because relationships aren't poison, they only feel that way if you aren't with the right person. However, once you find your soulmate it's almost as if all those other relationships never happened. So Eren, congrats on finding your soulmate, and Levi, welcome to the family," she said before walking up to them and giving them each a hug and a little kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you," they both told her with the brightest smiles on their faces.
After everyone finished giving toasts it was time for them to cut the cake. Eren and Levi both held the knife and let it glide into the cake as they cut the first piece. Once it was on their plate they each picked up a fork and took a piece of before feeding it to the other. Once they finished their bite of cake they gave each other a peck on the lips. When they pulled away Eren swiped a bit of frosting without Levi noticing and when he found the small opportunity he went to smear it on Levi's nose, but they must have both had the same idea because the second he raised his hand to smear it on Levi's Levi had put frosting on his nose.
"Hey," Eren said letting out a giggle.
"Beat you at your own game," Levi said and Eren immediately returned the favor, and Levi let him. Audrey had walked up to them and giggled at the white frosting on their noses. "You made a mess," she giggled.
"Oops," Levi said humoring her, "it appears we have," he said looking down at his own nose. "Do you happen to know where a napkin is?" He asked her.
"There's one right in front of you silly," she said pointing.
"Oh," Levi said 'discovering' the napkin. "It seems your right," he said picking it up. "You've got a good eye," he said and she gave him a big smile before skipping away. Once they finished with that they made sure that everyone who wanted some got some.
