On the way home, TJ had texted Thomas the address to Levi and Eren's house knowing school was just about to get out. He had been texting him a bit in the last class, which without Eren or Levi there apparently the substitute actually made the students work on homework instead of mess around. Thomas texted back whenever he could, meaning whenever the substitute's back was turned. They were a couple blocks away when Thomas said the bell rang for him to go home.

When they got home Eren pulled TJ aside while Levi and Alex continued talking. Levi and Alex stayed downstairs still talking about her father and how she thought it was so cool he threw the mother out of his apartment. TJ and Eren went up to the kids' room. "Are you doing okay kiddo?" Eren asked as they both sat down on the bed.

"I'm fine," TJ sighed flopping backward on the bed pulling one of the pillows over his face.

"You sure?" Eren raised an eyebrow.

"No," TJ mumbled into the pillow. "I don't know how I feel," TJ said lifting the pillow a little bit. "I want to hate her, I really do and after today I should, but I don't know what I feel," TJ sighed before sitting up. "I mean she's a horrible woman who has done and said horrible things to us," TJ said before shaking his head ridding the memories. "I mean Alex is right she is a deranged sociopath, but I can't easily dismiss her words like Alex can. They stay up here," TJ said pointing towards his head, "and they echo and get louder until that's all I can hear," He said hugging the pillow in his arms tighter and tighter as he spoke.

"I get it, I really do," Eren said putting a hand on TJ's shoulder. "I can promise you it won't last forever," Eren cooed, "I know right now that seems to be the only thing on your mind, but it will go away, and I can also say for certain that the more time you spend away from her the better you will feel," Eren said. "I-" Eren began to speak again but was cut off by a voice coming from the base of the stairs.

"TJ, Thomas is here," Alex called from the bottom of the stairs.

"Maybe we can finish talking about this later," Eren said giving TJ a smile.

"Yeah, I'd like that," TJ said watching as Eren stood up and headed towards the door. "Just try to keep it PG-13," Eren said looking back at TJ. "Okay?" Eren asked with a smile.

TJ's cheeks flushed red, "no no no no no, trust me we won't be doing that," TJ stammered nervously. 'I'm not you and Levi,' TJ thought causing himself to snort trying to hold back a laugh.

Eren chuckled a little before leaving the room. TJ laid back on the bed pulling the pillow over his face to hide his red cheeks. TJ heard a knock on the already open door and knew it was Thomas.

"Can I come in?" Thomas asked standing in the doorway. TJ nodded but kept the pillow over his face.

"You okay?" Thomas asked coming in and sitting next to TJ.

"I'm okay," TJ said sitting up with his cheeks still a little red, "Eren just said something embarrassing," TJ laughed rubbing the back of his head before smiling, "anyways what's up with you?" He asked leaning back on his hands.

Eren walked down the stairs to see Ash and Levi talking. "Oh, hello," Eren smiled greeting her.

"Hey," she smiled. "I was just telling Levi that I'll pick Thomas up at 9 if that's okay?" She asked.

"Sounds like a plan," Eren smiled. "If you want to come early we are having dinner at 8 and we would love to have you join us," Eren suggested.

"Oh, alright," she said. "I guess I'll come at 8," she smiled happily.

Alex began heading upstairs telling them she will fill in the two upstairs. Eren and Levi walked Ash out to her car and talked to her for a couple minutes before saying goodbye and watching her drive away.

They walked in and sat down on the couch for a minute before Eren suggested they head into the kitchen to make the kids something. As they stood up they heard laughing coming from upstairs and smiled knowing the kids were having a good time.

"Hanji really did that?" TJ asked laughing along with Thomas.

"Yeah, Erwin wasn't too happy with her," Thomas laughed.

"I mean if I someone scratched up my car I wouldn't be happy with them either," Alex laughed.

"How did she even managed to do that?" TJ asked.

"Her glasses fell off her face and she said she couldn't see the correct distance between her car and his and ran her mirror straight down the side of his car," Thomas explained laughing as he did.

"Did he yell at her?" Levi asked from the doorway making the kids jump.

"No," Thomas said more quietly. "He just sighed and said he would get it fixed over the weekend," Thomas answered him.

"Sounds like him, he's always been patient with Hanji," Levi smiled. "Anyways Eren sent me up here to see if you guys were hungry we made some brownies," Levi informed the kids.

They looked at each other and nodded, "brownies sound good," Alex finally said as they all got up and followed Levi down the stairs. Walking down the stairs they could already smell the freshly baked brownies. They walked into the kitchen and Eren got them settled with one each to start. Once everyone had a brownie they all made their way to the table to eat.

There was a knock at the door and Eren and Levi looked at each other for a minute confused. Eren shrugged and walked over to the door and opened it. "Hey Mikasa," Eren said upon opening the door.

The kids got up and walked into the front room to greet her. Thomas followed them in since he didn't really wanna be left alone.

"Hey sorry to drop in but-" she paused seeing a third kid who wasn't here yesterday. "They're multiplying," she whispered staring at the kids.

"He's a friend of theirs he's just visiting," Eren laughed.

The kids waved at Mikasa and she waved back with a smile. They leaned over to Thomas and informed him that Mikasa was Eren's sister.

"Anyways, you were saying something," he shrugged trying to get her to continue.

"Oh, I left my jacket here," she smiled turning to the coat rack where it was still hanging and pointed at it.

"I see," Eren said, "hey if you wanna stay for a little bit we just made brownies," Eren suggested.

"You sure?" She asked not wanting to get in the way of everyone.

"Yeah," Eren said, "as long as you leave out the embarrassing stories this time," he laughed.

"Okay, will do," Mikasa smiled. They walked back over to the table and the kids finished their brownies while the three adults talked. Mikasa's phone rang and she excused herself and walked into the front room.

"Hello?" She answered the phone.

"Is this Mikasa Jaeger?" A woman's voice asked.

"Yes," she said a little more concerned.

"I'm here at Garrison Hospital with a patient that says he would like to see you," the woman said.

"Oh my god," Mikasa said caught off guard she was wondering who could possibly be in the hospital.

"Is something wrong?" Eren asked coming into the room.

"Someone, I know is in the hospital," Mikasa whispered to him and he walked up next to her and offered her some comfort.

"Who is it?" Mikasa asked the lady on the phone as she nervously bit her lip.

Eren wrapped his arms around her. She hadn't even realized that she was shaking but Eren did and made sure that she was a little calmer when the nurse said the name.

"It's-," The nurse began to say.
