Stressful Nap
Eren sat there holding Levi in his arms. He felt guilty for stressing him out so much the night before. 'If he hadn't been worrying about me then he would have gotten more sleep.' Eren though stroking his soft black hair lightly. He felt Levi stir a bit before he sat up.
"What time is it," Levi asked wiping his eyes before realizing exactly where he was. His muscles tensed up wondering just how long did he fall asleep.
"Don't worry we still have ten minutes until the next class starts," Eren said watching Levi's back muscles relax. He leaned forward and rested his chin on Levi's shoulder. "Did you have a nice nap," Eren asked teasingly as he wrapping his arms around Levi.
His question was met with a strange silence. He let his arms fall from where they were wrapped around his lover's waist. He slid off the desk and moved to where he could see Levi's face. He saw Levi's tear stained cheeks and puffy eyes that were staring at the wall widened with fear.
When Levi snapped back to reality he saw Eren's concerned face and his hands on his shoulders and he was calling his name. "Eren?" Levi questioned at first.
"What happened?" Eren asked him as he looked into his eyes making sure what he would hear was the truth.
"Sorry, I must have been dreaming then." He mumbled mostly to himself. "Just another nightmare, I'll be fine." He said wiping the tears from his eyes.
"Are you sure? Do you want to talk about it?" Eren asked putting his hand on Levi's cheek to get him to face him.
Levi hesitated at first, could he even explain to Eren the horror that he had watched unfold, did he even want to. Did he want to drag Eren into the memories of bombshells, gunfire, and bloodshed or the remembrance of the never ending string of deaths that followed him wherever he had gone. Sure it's been years since all of that had happened, but the memories were clear and hard to separate from reality. It was like every time he remembered it it was unfolding before his eyes, again and again, he could do nothing to stop them from dying. 'The war really messed with my head,' Levi thought as he tried to push the persistent images out of his mind.
"Not really, the students will be here soon," he whispered, "but a hug would be nice," Levi mumbled looking away from Eren.
Eren silently complied and held Levi in his arms. He stroked his hair and held him with a tight grip that Levi seemed to enjoy.
Levi put his face in the crook of Eren's neck and breathed in his scent. He calmed down and let the redness in his cheeks and eyes fade as he enjoyed the peace that Eren brought to him. Whenever Eren was around it was always easier to separate the thoughts from reality.
By the time class was starting Levi was back to his normal self. He instructed the class the same as the first and on the day went. These last two classes weren't as depressing as the first. They went by with no big problems occurring. The only rules seem to be broken during the game was about drugs or sex, but hey it was better than a repeat from te first class.
When lunch came around Levi let out a silent sigh of relief. He needed another break after dealing with that many freshmen. He loves the student's, but sometimes they just drive him insane.
The class had barely ended before Hanji burst through the door and met up with her boys. "Hey guys, I was so ready for lunch I let my class out a few minutes early just so I could get a break from them." She said plopping down in a seat. She sensed something was wrong and looked at the two immediately with questioning eyes. She was searching for something, anything that would explain the weird atmosphere that seemed to be plaguing Levi's classroom.
'Shit I forgot Hanji could practically smell sadness,' Levi thought to himself before playing off anything that had happened in the room previously with a sarcastic comment.
"Geez, four eyes you can't even follow the simplest of rules." Sighing and rolling his eyes he took a seat across from her in his usual chair. Normally he wouldn't mind talking to Hanji about what happened back then, but not in the middle of school hours.
His situation wasn't that dire at the moment. 'I'll just text her later and explain. I guess I can shoot her a text while I'm waiting at the bar for uh "Erwin" to arrive.' Levi thought putting Erwin's name as a placeholder for the real person. It helped him remember that he needed to keep lying to Eren about who he was meeting up with. 'If Eren knew the truth... there is no telling how he would react.' Levi thought before taking a deep breath and clearing his mind. 'That's an issue for another day'' He thought dropping the thought for the time being.
Hanji squinted her eyes as if she was trying to read Levi. She shrugged it off after she concluded he seemed to be fine... at the moment.
Eren joined them after grabbing the bag with their lunches. "Alright, who's hungry." He asked setting the bag down.
It wasn't long before TJ and Alex knocked on the already open door. "May we come in?" She asked with her brother trailing behind her.
"Of course," Hanji answered and the two kids entered instead of sitting at the back of class again they had walked up and sat near the front so they could easily talk with the teachers.
'Should I just eat lunch in there?' He asked himself before making his way to the doorway. He hesitated before walking into the room.
Levi was a little shocked to see Thomas in his doorway but shrugged it off and continued to talk to the other two students who had entered the room. "Do you guys have a lunch today?" He asked noticing that neither of them had made any efforts to reach for their bags in the time they were here.
Alex shook her head and Thomas stayed perfectly still not really expecting the question.
"I noticed you two also didn't have lunches yesterday either," He added before grabbing the bag that had been pushed to the side, "There are two extra sandwiches in here if you want them he said holding up the bag to show them.
Alex hesitated but then nodded and again TJ stayed silent even though he wanted to say yes he just froze. So Alex took the sandwich for him knowing that he would want one. He silently thanked her and then verbally thanked Levi.
Levi just nodded and smiled, "Enjoy." He said before taking a bite of his own food.
Thomas had found his lunch bag and pause for a moment before asking Levi if he could sit in his room during lunch.
Levi shrugged. "I don't see why not," He replied without hesitation, even though he wanted nothing more than to tell him no.
Thomas quietly took a seat at one of the back tables. 'This looks like a good vantage point to cure my curiosities.' He thought as he started unpacking his lunch. He put in his headphones but left it unplugged from his phone in order to eavesdrop on the group of interesting teachers. 'Let's see what I can find out.' He thought as he began to eat his lunch.
TJ and Alex finished their sandwiches rather quickly. Alex out of boredom asked TJ if she could play with his hair and he agreed with a soft smile. He loved it when his sister played with his hair and it was one of the main reasons he kept it as long as he did.
"Before lunch ends would you mind putting it in a bun?" He asked as he pulled off his hood exposing his long hair. He liked when his sister did his hair up in a bun because it is less likely to come out.
"Of course." Alex smiled as she scooted behind her brother to be able to get a better angle on his hair.
'Wow, his hair is longer than I thought,' Thomas thought as he watched TJ take his long soft hair out of his jacket.
