Alex had stared at the phone that she twirled in her hand. She knew she was going to have to tell Thomas, but she wanted to wait until there was any information on TJ's condition. She couldn't bring herself to call him until she knew. She didn't want him worrying as much as she was. There was nothing he could do by sitting at home worrying.

She looked at the lock screen picture on his phone for a few minutes, it was her, they had taken it as a joke. His lock screen was Alex, and his home screen was a picture they had taken of Thomas. After a moment she set his phone down in her lap and pulled out hers. She unlocked hers and clicked his on again and put the phones next to each other. Her lock and home screen was the picture she took of TJ for his contact picture. The phones side by side looked like they were standing next to each other by the way they were each facing.

She let a small sad smile slip on her face before her lip started to quiver. Her eyes began to burn, yet no tears would spill. She tried taking a deep breath but it was shaky. She let out a small sigh and turned off the phones hugging them both to her chest.

Eren had watched her as she fiddled with the phones. When she hugged them to the chest Eren had to take a deep breath to keep his emotions in check. He moved the arm that was on her shoulder and placed his hand on her head that was huddled into his chest and he patted her head. He tried to calm her down he could feel her shaking as she tried to steady her own breathing.

It took almost two hours for them to get any information on his condition. They could see as the sun started to come up outside from the doors that were a little ways behind them. Alex had been holding back a panic attack for hours, it grew and grew as the time passed ever so slowly.

The doctor finally walked out of the doors asking for whoever was there for TJ. Peter and Levi quickly stood up hoping for good news Alex and Eren stayed sitting as much as Alex wanted to get up she couldn't and Eren refused to leave her sitting there alone. She felt too weak to stand up her knees were too wobbly even as she sat. Her head shot up as she looked at the doctor with hope. She waited for her to speak her mind racing as she looked at the doctor's unreadable face.

"Good news please let it be good news," she mumbled to herself over and over again her heart racing. Her voice was strained from all the crying she had done. She swore while she mumbled Eren's arms around her tightened slightly. He seemed as worried as she did.

She cleared her throat and began to speak. "TJ is stable, for now," she finally said looking at the sad faces around the room, "he's resting, but you are welcome to see him as soon as we get him in a room," she told them and the room filled with sighs of relief. "I will be back to notify you of his room number," she said before disappearing back into the double doors behind her.

Alex took some deep breaths and looked up at Eren, "he's okay?" she asked just to make sure her own hopes hadn't deafened her from the truth.

"He's okay," Eren said as a smile slipped on his face. Some tears slipped down his cheeks, he couldn't hold them back anymore. Alex took a deep calming breath feeling as the stress that had been building up had started disappearing. She moved her arm and wrapped it around Eren.

The doctor had come back in giving TJ's room number to the people waiting. She told them how to get there and everything about his condition. "He's lucky to be alive," she had told Levi and peter. She had leaned down to Alex and gave her a smile, "he's alive because of you," the doctor said to her.

"How?" Alex asked.

"You're the one who found him right?" The nurse asked and Alex nodded. "Well you found him in time," the nurse said.

"I felt something was wrong," Alex whispered.

"Interesting," the nurse said with a baffled look. "You guys are twins?" She asked.

"Yeah," Alex said before shaking her head, "it's not that weird twin telepathy thing that everyone always thinks we have," Alex said with a sigh.

"No, no nothing like that," the doctor said. "It's just when people, not just twins, are really close. I've heard a lot of cases where someone has had a bad feeling about something before it happened, or while it was happening," the doctor said with a shrug. She put her hand out and offered to help her up which Alex took.

After Alex got up Eren followed. Levi and Peter followed behind them as the doctor walked them to TJ's room. The doctor paused out in front of the doorway of his room and looked at the people. "Now visiting hours don't start for a couple of hours, but I'll make an exception for you guys," the doctor said giving Alex a smile. "I will just say," she started for a second, "he needs to rest," she said before stepping out of their way. "If anything happens please press the emergency button," she told them.

Alex took a breath and went into the room sitting down in the chair next to TJ and she took his hand in hers. Eren sat in the chair next to her sticking by her side in case she needed anything. Peter stood on the other side of the bed looking at TJ and taking some deep breaths as he saw his son laying there. He looked pale, weak, he looked so fragile that if he touched him he would break. He backed up and sat on the windowsill with his knees tucked into his chest as he sat there just watching his son's chest rising and falling. Levi stood leaning against the wall across the room wanting to stay far away from him so that he wouldn't wake him up.

While they were in the room Alex took TJ's phone out of her pocket and opened the recent text messages. As best she could she typed out a message with her free hand. She told him first that it was her texting, next she told him what had happened and then last she told him that he was okay and that he was just resting right now. She didn't expect a text back since it was close to seven in the morning, but instantly the message was read and the phone, that was on silent began to vibrate.

She didn't answer she clicked out of the call, and texted back saying she can't answer the phone right now. She told him when visiting hours started and sent him the room number. She told him to go back to sleep, but he replied back that he had been awake pretty much all night with some feeling of weight on his chest.

"You too?" Alex texted back. She put the phone to the side not really feeling ready to talk to anyone about anything.

She let out a yawn and Eren suggested that she go to sleep. She shrugged it off, but after her head felt heavy enough she finally laid it down on the bed next to where TJ laid. Her eyes were too heavy to keep open, as much as she fought it they closed anyway and she fell asleep.

Levi had walked over to where Eren was sitting and Eren stood up and moved a little bit away from them so he wouldn't wake either of them up while they talked.

"They've been through hell," Levi whispered looking over his shoulder at the two kids with bags under their eyes.

"They are strong, but everyone reaches their limits," Eren said with a sigh before grabbing Levi's hand. "I was really worried," Eren mumbled as he leaned his head down.

"I was too," Levi said pulling h8is hand away and bringing it up to Eren's face placing his hand on his cheek, "but he's okay," Levi said getting Eren to look up at him.

"I should have checked on him last night," Eren sighed, "I should have seen the signs, I should have known," Eren mumbled.

"Hey, no one knew," Levi said, "you did what you could," Levi said pushing some strands of hair out of Eren's eyes.

"I could have done more," Eren said looking at the kid in the hospital bed.

"You did," Levi said squeezing his hand bringing his focus back to him. "You stayed by Alex's side throughout it all you comforted her. You've torn yourself up about this, and it's not even your fault. You've shown time and time again you care," Levi said with a smile, "that's more than enough," he said and Eren nodded.
