Blissful Morning
Author's note~ People were wondering why Jean didn't show up again in the last chapter so I decided to explain in this one ~ Lawliet TJ
Eren opened his eyes and was about to sit up but felt the arm around his waist stopping him. He waited for his eyes to adjust before looking over at Levi who was still sound asleep holding Eren closely.
Eren smiled and looked over Levi's shoulder to see the clock on the nightstand.
"Wow did we really sleep that long?" Eren asked himself. It was the weekend and he knew they could sleep in, but it was a rare occurrence that either of them had slept the night through and then some. Eren lifted his hand and paused seeing the ring in his finger. He couldn't help but smile.
He brought his hand up to Levi's face and lightly poked his cheek.
Levi stirred a bit but remained asleep.
Eren giggled and poked his nose this time.
Levi crinkled his nose and opened his eyes to see what just touched him.
His eyes met with Eren's and he smiled "Hey babe," He whispered his voice still raspy from sleep.
Eren poked his nose once more "Boop," he said with a little giggle.
Levi just laughed, "Someone's in a good mood," Levi said with a smile. It was good to see Eren back to his playful self.
"Sorry to wake you sweetheart, but you are kinda holding me too tight for me to leave," Eren said with a shrug. He expected Levi to release his firm hold on him.
Levi just smiled and pulled Eren closer he wrapped his legs around his so he couldn't move. "Five more minutes babe," Levi said trying to hold back his laughter as Eren squirmed.
"Levi," Eren pouted. He finally gave up with a sigh. "You win," Eren mumbled.
Levi looked up at Eren with a smile and placed a kiss on his nose, "I know," He said releasing his grip on Eren.
Eren jumped off the bed before Levi had the chance to change his mind. He went to walk towards the closet but sighed and went to head for the spare bedroom.
"Where are you going?" Levi asked seeing Eren leave the room.
He poked his head back in the room, "Well when I packed I put the suitcases in the spare bedroom, I don't have a clean shirt," Eren explained with his eyes lowered. When he looked up Levi was right in front of him.
"Who needs a shirt?" Levi asked with a chuckle, "Eat first change later," Levi said grabbing Eren's hand and leading him down the stairs.
Before they made it any further than the living room Eren stopped Levi. "You need to get your hand checked out," Eren said remembering how bad it looked and how he was too mad yesterday to insist on getting it checked out.
"I promise I'll go get it looked at later today, but first we need to eat something," Levi smiled.
"Fine," Eren gave up, he knew later he would be successful in dragging Levi to a doctor's office so there was no point in forcing him now.
"What do you feel like today?" Levi asked. Eren usually just shrugged and let Levi decided.
"Well if it's not too much to ask, pancakes?" Eren requested nervously.
Eren's request was met with the biggest smile from Levi. Eren was getting more comfortable and Levi loved it. "Okay, pancakes, bacon, eggs, and sausage," Levi said turning towards the kitchen.
"Levi, that's too much," Eren said not wanting Levi to stress out about cooking all of that food. "Oh come on, I insist," Levi said with a big smile. "But you have to help me," he said with a grin.
"Levi, you know I can't cook," Eren said with a sigh.
"Nonsense I'll help," Levi said pulling Eren into the kitchen with him. Levi smirked and grabbed an apron and slipped it over Eren's head.
"Why do I need this?" Eren asked with a pout.
"You're shirtless and the bacon tends to spit hot oil," Levi said as an excuse to see Eren in an apron that said kiss the cook on it.
"Fine," Eren sighed knowing that Levi may have come up with that right on the spot, but it was also accurate.
Levi looked Eren up and down and whistled, "Même sans gravité sur Terre, je tomberais amoureux de toi,(even without gravity on earth I would still fall in love with you)" Levi said with a smile.
"That was cheesy," Eren said laughing a bit, but there was a faint blush on his cheeks that was visible.
Levi smiled, "I know," he said getting the supplies so that they could start cooking.
As they were setting up the kitchen there was a knock at the door. "I'll get it," Eren said as he set the pan down.
"Um, honey?" Levi said with a suspicious tone.
"Hmm?" Eren hummed turning around to see Levi smirking.
"I think I should get the door," Levi said looking Eren up and down with a smile.
"Why?" Eren asked looking down at himself forgetting he was wearing an apron, no shirt underneath. "Oh," Eren said with a laugh, "Yeah you get the door," Eren said going back to fix up the kitchen. He was a little curious about who was at the door and poked his head around the corner to try and see who was at the door but staying out of sight.
Levi walked over to the door. He was still shirtless with his sweats on, but he knew Eren was more self-conscious than he was he could care less about the old scars, bullet wounds, and burns that littered his body. Unlocking the door he opened it to be met with a familiar face.
"Hey-," his greeting was cut short abruptly.
Jean was worried and all he kept doing was pacing around the bedroom with his phone in hand calling Eren again and again. He was mumbling to himself as he hit redial, "please be okay," he said, "come on pick up,' pick up pick up pick up pick up pick up pick up," He repeated until he reached the voicemail. "Dammit," He said clicking redial once more.
Marco who was in bed a little early having a to be at an early class in the morning sat up with a sigh. He stood up and walked over to Jean.
"Dammit," Jean said as he was met with the voice mail once again.
"Hun?" Marco said putting a hand on Jean's shoulder.
Jean looked up at his lover as his death grip on the phone loosened. He was going to hit redial but paused to look at Marco.
"Why don't we go to bed?" Marco asked with a sympathetic smile. "Eren's going to be okay, he probably just fell asleep," Marco said rubbing Jean's back.
"But what if something's wrong?" Jean said clearly panicked.
"Everything will be fine," Marco said cupping Jean's face. "Try again in the morning, If there is still no reply in then you can try and swing by just to be sure that everything is okay," Marco said with a comforting voice.
"What if he's not sleeping?" Jean asked looking at Marco with fear in his eyes.
"You know how Eren is with his phone," Marco said with a smile, "he hardly ever answers, half the time he doesn't even have it on him," Marco reassured him, "I'm sure he's fine. It would be more worrisome if he was answering," Marco said and Jean mentally agreed.
Jean was going to keep insisting something was wrong until he looked into Marco's eyes. Marco looked tired he had bags under his eyes and his hair was unkempt and messy. He knew his boyfriend was working hard with his internship and college, but he didn't realize that he was pushing himself too hard. Jean felt guilty keeping him up. "I guess you're right," Jean said giving in. "I'll try again in the morning."
Marco smiled and watched as Jean put the phone down. They both made their way to the bed and laid down.
Jean grabbed Marco's hand and held it lovingly. Jean turned out the bedside light and rolled over. Marco was already fast asleep.
Jean wasn't able to sleep that night. He had tossed and turned and racked his brain with worrying thoughts trying to figure out exactly what had happened. Was Eren okay? What happened? Was Levi capable of actually hurting Eren? All these questions with no answers had bounced around in his brain.
Jean was awake when Marco got up to get ready for his morning class.
Marco insisted that Jean get more sleep when Jean had told him he was getting up as well. There were bags under his eyes and his hair looked like a rats nest from the tossing and turning.
Jean didn't want to stress Marco out any more than he already had and agreed to head back to bed.
After two hours of staring at the ceiling, Jean finally got out of bed. He grabbed his phone and hit redial as he headed out into the living room.
It went straight to voicemail this time no ringing, nothing. Jean had no messages or calls on his phone. Why was Eren's phone off?
"Good morning," Armin said pulling Jean out of his thoughts.
"Huh, oh morning," Jean said looking at Armin who was sitting at the table eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast.
"Wow, you look like crap," Armin said looking up at Jean, "couldn't sleep?" He asked putting another spoonful of cereal in his mouth.
"Yeah, hey do you have anywhere you need to be today?" Jean asked looking down at his broken hand.
"No why?" Armin said after taking a minute to think about his schedule.
"Do you mind if I borrow your car, I can't really take my motorcycle," Jean shrugged lifting up his hand that was wrapped up for the time being until he made his way to the hospital.
"I don't mind," Armin said with a warm smile. "Keys are on the rack," Armin said pointing to the little rack over by the door.
"Thanks," Jean said grabbing the keys and going to get dressed. He headed out and made his way over to Levi and Eren's house.
