Chapter 57: Prepare
Two days later...
After days of traveling, Eleven, Mike, Johnathan, Will, and Argyle all made it to Hawkins. But what they could see outside the window...it was beyond their nightmares. Half of the town was destroyed and many townspeople were evacuating or helping their friends out. Cleaning and donating. Many were being taken to the hospital or to the school gym for help since their homes were destroyed. Many who resided in the trailer park were there, including Eddie's uncle. Smoke covered the skies as well as dozens of helicopters. Most of them were government and most were Search and Rescue. Many people sought out shelter in the church, praying before God to ward off any evil in this town. Many still believe it was the work of Devil Worshipers, but most of all, there was a theory that Eddie invoked hell in Hawkins.
They may have defeated Vecna, but in the end...he had the last laugh.
"It's been less than 48 hours since a 7.4 magnitude earthquake rocked the quaint town of Hawkins, 80 miles outside of Indianapolis, in an event that seismologists are calling 'a natural disaster of near-unprecedented scale'. The death toll now stands at 22. But with hundreds more filling Roane County hospitals and many more still missing, officials expect those numbers to rise. This is only the latest tragedy to befall this once-safe town. Most recently, a string of high school students were killed in a series of ritualistic murders, which have been linked to a local satanic cult known as 'Hellfire'. Eddie Munson, the leader of this cult and prime suspect in the murders, has been missing since the earthquake and is presumed dead. But this offers little comfort to the people of Hawkins, who are scared, angry, and searching for answers. Why their town? What have they done to deserve so much suffering? A growing chorus believes the two recent tragedies are linked, claiming the Munson murders opened a doorway between worlds. A doorway, they say, into hell itself..."
"Are you hearing this? They're now calling it a doorway into hell." Ted scoffs as he watches the news while everyone around him were packing up boxing to donate for the town and those who've lost so much in the earthquake.
"Great. More hysteria. Just what we need." Karen scoffs.
"Well, it's the news." Ted remarks and sighs, shaking his head at how it was going to be. Knowing the town is going to eat this media bias with no trouble.
Suddenly, loud knocking is made from the door, "Donation delivery service, pack your shit and let's haul ass." Theo calls out.
Ted groans in annoyance, "Language!" He shouts.
"Sorry, Mr. Wheeler." Theo sticks his head around the corner, "Mrs. Wheeler."
"Hi, Theo. Thank you so much for helping us out. Oh! I heard from Amelia. She had her babies!" Karen gushes.
"Yeah, she called last night and said she was coming home today." Theo grins.
"Ohhh, I can't wait to see them. I know you're gonna be a great cousin to them both." Karen smiles.
"I'll try my best." Theo snorts. "Oh! By the way, my brothers from back home have decided to come down and help out."
"Great. More teenagers to clean out our kitchen." Ted grumbles.
"That's very sweet of them and we need al the help we can get." Karen scorns at her husband and gives Theo a smile. "Are they here now in town or...?" She asks.
Theo points his thumb behind him, "Oh, they're right outside. Hey, guys. C'mere." He waves over people who were in the other room. "Mrs. Wheeler, Mr. Wheeler. I want you to meet my brothers. This is...Skylar." He clears his throat as he thinks about new names for his friends. "And...um...Buddy. But everyone at home calls him Thud."
Walking around the corner, into the living room, two teenage boys stand before them. Psy, now in a human form, chose to carry a punk rock teenager image. Long shoulder black hair, brown eyes. Skinny figure. He wore a Metallica shirt with a jean jacket and blue jeans with tanned boots. Thud, chose to carry a football player body. Pudgy with dark blonde hair, a small goatee. He wore a black shirt and blue jeans with black boots.
Ted and Karen both look up at Thud's form, he was taller than Psy and bigger, "Dear God." Ted mutters, thinking in dread how much that kid must eat. The grocery bills are going to go up.
Psy gives them both an awkward wave, "Hi. Nice to meet you."
Thud just stands there, looking intimidating which made Karen a little nervous, but she still gave them both a smile of welcoming, "It's very nice to meet you both. Um...why...why call him 'Thud'?" She stutters.
"Uh, well..." "You see.." Theo and Psy speak as one. Psy clears his throat, "Um, Thud is a football player back home. One of the best defense." They both see Ted perking up at the word 'football'. "They call him Thud because that's the sound the other team makes when they try to tackle him. 'Ka-thud." He chuckles.
Karen laughs, "Well, it's very nice to meet you...um...Thud. I do hope you're being safe out in that field. No mother wants to worry about her son playing such a violent sport." She says and moves away to help Nancy with packing.
Thud frowns at that statement and looks over to Theo, who waves it off, "Don't think too hard, Dude." He pats his back and moves to help around, carrying boxes out of the house and into his van.
Karen was grabbing another box and hurries to meet with Nancy as she was helping Theo, Psy, Steve, Robin, and Dustin, and Thud load up the van, "Hey, Nance! I found some more of your old stuff in the attic." She smiles.
Nancy gasps as she sees a familiar toy on top, "Mr. Rabbit."
Karen smiles, "It's okay if you wanna save him, you know?"
Nancy sighs and shakes her head, "No, he'll be more loved in a new home." She says and places him back in the box, taking it out of her mom's hands.
Suddenly, Karen hears a vehicle coming towards the house. She looks out and sees...a pizza delivery van?
"Someone order a pizza?" Karen asks.
"Pizza?" Thud perks up and looks out in hunger.
Psy slaps his shoulder, "Dude, you just ate." He scoffs.
But everyone looks and watches the Surf Boy's Pizza van park at the end of the driveway. Everyone watches in shock as they see Mike, Eleven, Johnathan, and Will exit the van. Karen gasps and sobs at the sight of her son. Safe and home.
"Mom!" Mike calls out.
Everyone rushes to greet them all and Karen wraps her arms around Mike as he meets her halfway. Nancy rushes into Jonathan's arms and he picks her up, holding her tight. How he missed her.
Will rushes to hug Dustin. Both missed each other dearly.
Karen sighs as she holds on to Mike, she pulls away and gives him a stern look, "You are never going on vacation again, you hear me? In fact, you can forget about college. You are staying right here." She sniffles and hugs him again. Mike simply laughs and hugs his mom. Knowing how dramatic she is.
"Are you okay?" Johnathan asks as he looks over Nancy. He could see the faint bruises she carried.
Smiling big, Nancy nods, so happy to see him, "Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay." Her smile slowly falls, "But, Jonathan..." She tries to explain everything that has happened over the past few days but he beats her to it.
"This isn't an earthquake. I know. I know a lot more than you think."
Nancy frowns at him, "How? We've been trying to call you..." She stutters.
"I know. I know. I'm sorry. We just couldn't risk contact." Johnathan says.
"'We couldn't risk contact'?" She frowns at his words.
"Hey, hey, I'll tell you everything, okay?"
"Okay."
"I promise. But, for now, I'm just glad you're safe." He sighs and kisses her forehead, hugging her again.
Steve scoffs and looks away, can't standing the sight of Nancy back with Johnathan. Robin pats his back in sympathy, knowing he had high hopes of getting back with her.
Once Karen let Mike go, he sees Theo, "Theo! I can't believe I'm actually saying this...but I missed you."
Theo chuckles and pulls him into a hug, patting his back, "Missed you guys, too." He pulls away and gives Mike a love tap, making him laugh and throws his arm over his shoulders, "Come here, got some people to introduce you to." He moves and grabs El, throwing his other arm over her shoulders, "I missed you, Cuz. Digging the haircut." He grins as she laughs.
"I missed you, too, Theo." Eleven smiles.
"When you guys were over there in the sunshine state and god knows where else. I had to call in reinforcements to help you with that Vecna dude. So, Mike...El...these are my friends...from back home." He hints.
Mike's eyes widen, meaning that he was meeting more demons before him in human form, "Oh."
Theo lets them go and moves stand next to his demon buddies, "This is Psy..." He pats Psy's chest. "And this big bad boy here....this is Thud. Guys, this is the girl I was telling you about. Eleven. And this is her boyfriend, Mike." He points at them.
Psy looks impressed at the sight of Eleven, "Woof, so you're the one who shined."
Eleven frowns at him.
"It's a Wiccan thing. When you welcome the great Goddess Ozark, your soul shines as bright as the heaven's light. Congrats on becoming a follower. And major congrats on kicking that bastard's ass." Psy says.
Eleven sighs, giving him a small smile.
Psy moves and gives her a hug, "Welcome to the family." He lets her go and moves away.
Thud grunts and moves to stand closer, recognizing the girl before him, "Pretty." He grunts out. "Strong."
Eleven smiles, remembering the demon from that night, "Thank you. For helping my friends."
Thud grunts happily, "Thud smashed." He grins.
Mike frowns at him and looks over to Theo for help, "He's a little slow. Get on his good side and you'll have no trouble with him."
"Where's Lucas?" Will asks Dustin as he looks around. Eleven moves and walks over towards him.
"He's at the hospital."
"Was he hurt?" Eleven asks.
Dustin shakes his head, "No. No, he's..." His face drops in realization. "Oh God. You don't know."
Dustin explained to them that Max was hurt, in a coma. Her legs and arms were all broken. They found Lucas reading to Max as she lies in a hospital bed. Lucas explained to them that the doctors don't believe she'll ever wake up. But that doesn't mean he was going to give up on her. He never left her side since that night. He stated that Max clinically died that night for just a minute. But she came back. Doctors claimed it was a miracle.
When Eleven went inside the void to find Max and hopefully, help her find her way home...but she couldn't find her. She couldn't see anything. That scared her. If Max wasn't in her mind...then where is she?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Robin, Steve, Dustin, Theo, Psy, and Thud all headed out towards the gym to deliver the donations. Dustin still had trouble walking since he broke his ankle that night. The brace he wore helped till he heals up. Even though the doctor says he needs to take it easy, but he made a promise. To Eddie.
Thud carried several boxes, helping them all with their delivery. When they walked inside, the demons were hit by grief, shock, pain, and dread. It was suffocating.
"Sad...humans." Thud grunts.
"Shh, be careful when saying that 'H' word around here. This town is already believing demons walk the earth, we don't need proof waving in their faces." Robin states.
"He can be a little sensitive at times." Psy explains.
"'Sensitive'?" Steve snorts.
"Believe it or not, we..." Theo drops his voice to a whisper, "We demons carry emotions as well as you humans do. We're not all raving psychopaths. We don't understand some emotions...but this..." He stops and sighs, "We understand." He says as he looks around at the humans who desperately searched for lost loved ones and helped those who were suffering. Many cried and many were quiet or chattered with friends. "We definitely understand this."
They all headed on towards the donation table and set their boxes down in front of a lady with a clipboard.
"Hi." The lady greets them.
"Hi." Robin says and begins to state what they all brought, "Uh, so these are blankets and sheets. And some... some clothes and... and some kids' toys."
"And some food from 'Sweet Talk'." Theo adds as he sets his box down.
"Wow. It's already so organized. We appreciate that. Do you want a tax receipt for it?" The lady asks.
"Um... No. I don't think that we need one. Theo?" Robin asks as she looks over to him.
Theo shakes his head, "No, it's all good."
"Thank you, though." Robin says and frowns as she looks around in sympathy, "But is there anything else that we can do to help?" She offers.
The lady was speechless, they needed all the help they could get. She put them to work right away. Steve was in charge with the clothes. Dustin, Thud, and Psy passed out food and water to those who were in need. Robin and Theo were helping with the food. Robin was making Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches while Theo was cutting cakes and pies for the sweet tooth folks. Also had some soup to go with those sandwiches. He scoops up some chicken noodle soup for a family and hands the mother some bowls. He smiles down a little girl next to her mom.
"Here ya go, little darling." He says and hands her a tray. She smiles big at him when he places a piece of cake on her tray. He winks at her and chuckles as they head off to a table. "Don't spoil you meal with that!" He calls out.
Robin chuckles, "Another thing human girls like. We love men who are adorable with kids."
Theo snorts, "Eh, they're okay. I'm getting use to those little ankle biters."
Robin chuckles and continues to make a sandwich, but freezes at a voice behind her, she turns fast and sees it was...Vicki!
"I found another jar of peanut butter, and it's crunchy..." Vicki freezes as she sees Robin turn towards her. "Robin."
"Hi."
"What are you doing here?" Vickie asks.
"I am...I..." Robin stutters and grunts when Theo elbows her, "I am making PB&Js." She states as she sees she was still holding a butter knife that was covered with peanut butter.
Vickie chuckles and rolls her eyes at how silly she must be acting, "Right, yeah. No. Duh. Of course. Uh, I... I am also making PB&Js, as it so happens." She says as she holds up a jar of Jiff Peanut butter.
"Cool." Robin's mouth felt dry. She could barely breathe. She turns and continues to make more sandwiches and stiffens when Vickie moves to stand next to her to help out.
Theo grins as he watches the two of them be so awkward with each other.
"Hey, uh, I... I'm sorry if that came out weird. I didn't mean it like, 'What are you doing here?' I just meant, 'What are you doing here?' Like, 'Nice surprise. Great to see you'."
"Uh... I didn't take it as anything negative." Robin chuckles nervously.
"Okay, good. Good. No, I... I'm sorry. My brain's been a little frazzled lately. 'Cause..." Vickie sighs.
"Of everything?"
"Yeah." Vickie chuckles, "Yeah, and Dan. Um, he's my boyfriend. Well, was my boyfriend. He was visiting, took one look at this, and it's not what he was envisioning for spring break. He was like, 'I'm outta here. Back to Purdue. Good luck'. Which, ultimately, it's bordering on a good thing, 'cause he was grating on me. He is the type who trashes Fast Times 'cause it has no plot. I should've just ended things right there and then." She scoffs, obviously bothered that her boyfriend just abandoned her at this time.
Robin freezes as she realizes that she and Steve were right about her. About 'Fast times'.
Vickie exhales, releasing the negativity from her body, "Sorry. I'm so sorry. I am rambling about my dumb boyfriend when there are people out there suffering. Who need... food. And I have just made a peanut butter on peanut butter monstrosity." She says as she holds up the peanut butter sandwich that carried way too much peanut butter.
Robin chuckles, moving close to hand her the jelly, but finds herself looking into Vickie's eyes. Both of them freezing as they stand so close to each other. Robin smiles at her and moves away, feeling her face heat up. How she loved this girl.
"Um...I don't know what's wrong with me. Um, it's like sometimes my mouth is moving faster than my brain, and it's like this runaway train, and I cannot seem to get it to stop, no matter how hard I try. You know what I mean?" Vickie chuckles.
Robin smiles, "Uh, yeah, I think I know what you mean."
Theo smiles, seeing Robin's face light up. He could see she was getting to Vickie. Maybe...just maybe...they'll come out and be together.
"It's a gift." Vickie hands her the sandwich.
"Oh, for me?"
"You're welcome."
Theo walks over to Steve as he carries food trays, "Now that...is what humanity is about." He grins at Steve, sharing a smile. "Hey." He gains his attention. "I do hope things will work out for you, dude. If it's not Nancy..." He sighs, "May the Goddess Ozark help you find the one who was made for your heart."
Steve sighs and gives him a small smile, "Thanks, Theo."
Theo turns and heads to hand out food, "You're still a Hair-boy, though." He grins.
Steve scoffs and laughs, shaking his head as he goes back to folding clothes.
Psy, Dustin, and Thud walked around to hand out water. Thud carried the trays while Psy and Dustin handed out the cups.
"H2O?" Dustin offers.
"Vital for all forms of life." Psy adds as he smiles and passes out cups. "Here ya go."
Dustin grunts as he limps around and scans the gym. Neither of them could believe how many people were here.
"You sure you okay, little dude?" Psy asks.
Dustin sighs and looks down at his leg, "Yeah, I'll be okay."
Psy scoffs, "You know what I mean."
Dustin stops and sighs as he continues to pass out water, "I wish we never left him."
"I know. But you know we had to." Psy sighs.
"Yeah...I know. Still...I wish people would see reason. To be honest, I wish people blamed Jason instead. But Jason was the IT boy. Eddie was the freak. The outcast that everyone automatically hates. It's not fair." Dustin scoffs.
Thud grunts, "Thud...outcast."
Dustin frowns and turns towards him and Psy with confusion.
"Yeah, even Demons get hate, dude. All the other demons down in the Underworld are like you humans here in this world. They follow a straight line. Follow the rules of the worlds. But us?" Psy scoffs and looks over toward Thud then back to Dustin with a crooked grin, "We make our own. And no one actually likes that."
Dustin sighs, understanding how that's like. He turns and continues to pass out water, but freezes when he sees Eddie's uncle at the bulletin board for missing people. He was snatching off a picture of Eddie that carried graffiti of the pentagram and devil horns was drawn on top of his head. He places a new one with Eddie's picture, but he knew the town wasn't going to stop. He wasn't either.
"Mr. Munson?" Dustin calls out and limps over towards him, "I'm Dustin Henderson. Can we talk?" He asks.
Mr. Munson scoffs, "I can't imagine we got anything to talk about. My nephew is innocent. He's still missing. I'll put up as many posters as I need until he's found. Good day to you." He brushes by him.
"We were with him." Dustin stops him in his tracks. Mr. Munson looks back over towards Dustin as Psy moves to stand close. "We were with him when the earthquake hit."
"We all were." Psy adds as Thud stands behind him.
"And... where is Eddie now?" Mr. Munson asks.
Dustin's lip trembles as tears form in his eyes when he reaches into his back pocket and pulls out Eddie's guitar pick necklace, handing it to Mr. Munson as his voice begins to quaver, "I'm... I'm so sorry."
Mr. Munson takes the guitar pick, recognizing it immediately. His eyes light up with sadness and realization as he lets out a shaking breath. Tears formed as he realizes what this means. Eddie was gone. Dead. Maybe for the best. This world hated him. Maybe he'll find peace now. Mr. Munson moves to sit down.
Dustin limps and sits next to him, "I wish everyone had gotten to know him. Really know him. Because they would've loved him, Mr. Munson. They would've loved him. Even in the end... he never stopped being Eddie. Despite everything. I never even saw him get mad. He could've run. He could've saved himself. But he fought. He fought and died to protect this town. This town that... hated him. He isn't just innocent... Mr. Munson, he's... he's a hero." His voice cracks.
Mr. Munson sobs at his words, it was true, that was the Eddie he knew. His heart broke that he was never going to see his nephew ever again, before he could tell him how much he truly meant to him. Sure, he was a punk kid, but he loved him. He was family. He was all he had. Now...he was all alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With the government searching for Eleven, no place was safe for her. She couldn't go back home, to Amelia's. There was only one place to hide. The cabin. Argyle drove everyone towards Hopper's old cabin. It still carried the damage that Henry did to it. Despite the damage, it was just how Eleven remembers it. She stands by the van, eyeing the cabin with pain. Missing her dad as badly before. But it was safe. It was...home.
Johnathan walks inside first and sighs at the state of the cabin, "Oh Jesus."
"Holy sh¡t. This place is a total disaster." Mike exclaims.
"Yeah. Well, that's a bit of a problem." Johnathan says sarcastically as he and Mike exam the huge hole in the ceiling. The sunlight shines through it.
"Woah." Nancy exclaims as she opens a door and looks inside. "Wow."
Everyone moves and looks inside, "This room doesn't really go with the cabin." Johnathan frowns.
"It's Mom's...and Dad's room." Eleven speaks behind them. "Mom...enchanted it. So she...and Hopper could stay with me." She sniffles softly.
Mike's heart broke for Eleven. He knew how much she missed Hopper.
"I get we gotta hide Supergirl, but this isn't exactly the Fortress of Solitude, man. It's more like a fortress of grodiness." Argyle says and grimaces at the state. "But that room...is totally badass." He says as he points at the enchanted bedroom.
"Come on, guys, seriously. I've seen Mike's room look worse than this." Nancy scoffs as she moves to the kitchen while Will was checking the fridge.
"Ah, brutal, dude." Argyle chuckles.
Nancy turns on the sink and exclaims, "See? Water still works." She moves to check the cabinets and sees a box full of rags and cleaning fluids. She reconizes Amelia's handmade cleaning substances, "And, voilà. Cleaning supplies." She says as she places the box on the kitchen counter and tosses Mike a broom.
Everyone worked on the cabin, repairing it as best as they could. Nancy and Johnathan boarded up the windows until they could replace the glass. If they can. While Nancy and Johnathan were outside, they took the time to talk. Apologizing to each other and discussing about college. Johnathan lies about his letter coming in. He still couldn't tell her that he got accepted to another college. One that wasn't the college they planned to go together. And Nancy lies that they were okay. The relationship was fine. But...to be honest...it wasn't.
Eleven managed to get most of the bathroom cleaned, but still needed work. She moves to head into her old bedroom, using her power to shut the door...but keeping it three inches open.
Mike was a little worried about how quiet Eleven has been. She didn't talk much after the battle between her and Vecna. He wanted to know what happened in there...but...he didn't want to push her.
"Did she... talk to you at all?" Will asks.
"Not much. I mean, a little bit." Mike sighs. "Dr. Brenner. He says that she wasn't ready. And now she's starting to think he was right."
Will scoffs, "That's crap. If it wasn't for her, if she hadn't left the lab, Max wouldn't be alive right now." He states.
"I know. It's just, she's, um... She's never lost before. Not like this." Mike says.
"She'll have another chance."
Mike scoffs, "Let's hope not. Let's hope One is dead and rotting."
"He's not." Will shudders, causing Mike to frown at him, "Now that I'm here, in Hawkins, I can feel him. And he's hurt. He's hurting. But he's still alive. It's strange, knowing now who it was this whole time, but... I can still remember what he thinks, and how he thinks. And he's not going to stop. Ever. Not until he's taken everything. And everyone. We have to kill him." His voice quivers with fear and need. Feeling that same cold feeling he always had since that night he was in Upside Down, possessed by the Mind flayer...by One.
"And we will. We will." Mike says determinedly.
Suddenly, they hear a car approaching them. They rush towards a hole in the wall, and sees a car. It was a black car. Nancy and Johnathan stops working and sees the car.
"Government." Johnathan sighs, not wanting to deal with those assholes again. But when the door opens, his heart fills with shock...and relief.
Joyce gets out of the car and holds on to the door as she looks and sees Johnathan. Tears fill his eyes as he sees his mom. Then Bob gets out of the car next to her.
"Mom." Johnathan gasps and rushes to her as she runs to him. "Mom!"
Joyce sobs happily as she hugs her son tight. Will walks out of the cabin and cries in happiness as he rushes to hug his mom.
"Will! Oh, god." Joyce sobs and hugs her boys. "Oh, thank god."
Johnathan moves and hugs Bob tight, "Hey, you guys okay?" Bob asks.
Nancy gasps as she sees Amelia getting out of the car, but her eyes widen in shock when Jim gets out as well. Mike slowly walks on the porch and gasps. Johnathan and Will's eyes widen in shock when they see Jim before them. Amelia moves around the car, carrying baby car seat. And Jim held one as well. Nancy rushes and moves to hug Amelia tight.
Amelia laughs, "Looks like we missed a lot." She smiles.
Nancy laughs, "You have no idea." She moves away and gasps, covering her mouth in shock as she looks down in the car seat carrier. "Oh, my god!"
"Meet James." Amelia smiles big.
"Oh, he's so cute!" Nancy gushes.
Jim chuckles and holds up the other carrier, "And say hello to little Amy." He smiles big.
Nancy coos at the sleepy baby, "Aww, she's gorgeous. You guys did such a great job." She smiles big at the babies. Soon, Will, Johnathan, Mike, and Argyle all walk over and fawned over the babies. Will smiles big and laughs as James smiles up at him, cooing softly. Amy grimacing and sticking her tongue out at everyone. Amelia picks her up and gently places her in Nancy's arms. Nancy coos as she holds Amy close, smiling big as she brushes her finger over the child's face. Mike shakes his head as Amelia makes him hold James.
"No, nope, you don't want me....ugh." Mike groans as he holds the baby, freezing where he stood. Afraid what might happen if he moves. "What do I do now?"
"Say hi, smile, anything you want." Amelia laughs.
"Uh...okay. Um...hi...baby. Nice to meet you. I'm Mike." Mike mutters.
James begins to fuss in his, making Mike wince, "Dude, you broke the baby." Argyle says.
"No, I didn't." Mike scoffs and jumps when James begins to cry. "Uh, help?"
Amelia giggles and takes James back into her arms, "He's just hungry. Right, baby? I bet you are so hungry." She coos and moves away to feed James.
Jim looks around, "Where's El?" He asks.
Mike points at the cabin, "She's inside."
Jim moves towards Amelia, "Hey, let's go see our daughter."
"In a minute, James needs to be fed." Amelia sighs and tosses a baby blanket over herself and James.
Argyle's eyes widen a little as he chuckles in realization while he watches. Johnathan and Mike all lean in, but they all jump when Jim glares at them. Argyle continues to look with a goofy look until Johnathan slaps his arm and scratches his head in discretion.
"I'm gonna go inside. Don't feed the babies in front of them." Jim grumbles and kisses her head before heading inside to surprise Eleven.
Amelia giggles, shaking her head as she keeps James and herself covered as he continues to feast. Soon, it was Amy's turn. Once the babies were fed, Amelia looks up and sees Eleven walking out of the cabin with Jim. Amelia smiles as Eleven sobs.
"Mom." Eleven rushes and hugs her tight.
Sniffling, Amelia holds her, hugging her tight, "Oh, I missed you so much, my darling." She pulls away and cups Eleven's face in her hands. "Hmm." She smiles big, "You've shined. Brighter than I ever imagined. I'm so proud of you, Starshine."
Eleven cries and smiles, hugging her more. She gasps as she looks up and sees the babies sleeping in their carriers. Amelia pulls away, but keeps her arm wrapped around Eleven's waist, "Come meet your brother and sister." She smiles.
Eleven gasps as she walks towards the carriers and kneels down to admire the babies, she gasps at their beauty. She laughs with tears in her eyes, "James." She sniffles as she looks at the baby boy with love in her eyes. She trails her eyes at the babygirl. "Amy." She strokes her sister's face with a soft finger and smiles as Amy squirms in her carrier, but doesn't wake. Eleven straightens and leans on Amelia, "They're so...beautiful." She smiles.
Amelia chuckles, "Yeah, they are."
Suddenly, Theo pops out of nowhere, startling a few people, "'Ello!" He chortles and hugs Amelia tightly. "Oh! Missed you!"
Amelia scoffs and chuckles, "I missed you, too." She smiles and pulls away, "I'm so happy Psy and Thud are here. I missed them so much!"
"They missed you, too. They would've have been here, but...they're helping out the town."
"Oh, I'm so proud of them to help out. I can't wait to see them."
Theo smiles down at the kids, watching them sleep, "You did good, Amelia. So proud of you." He smiles and catches Jim's confused look. He chuckles and walks over towards Jim. "Hey, Jim."
"Uh...who are you?"
Theo places a hand over his chest with a dramatic pose and arch of his brow, "Me? Am I that hard to recognize?" He snorts and shines his feline eyes at him. He laughs at Jim's surprised face, "Missed you, too...fat Rambo. Or maybe I should just call you skinny Rambo from now on, huh?" He walks up to him and gives him a brief hug, patting Jim's stomach and moves away, still laughing at his shock.
"Theo? Is that you?" Jim asks, frowning as he studies him, moving around to look at him from head to toe.
"Yeah! Decided to ditch the cat suit for a while and started getting use to being human." Theo shrugs.
Jim chuckles and looks at him up and down, "Did a good job."
"Thanks." He says and lets out a loud sigh as he turns towards the cabin, "This is gonna need a lot of work." He winces and then turns towards Amelia with a grin, "Shall we?"
Amelia smiles, "We shall."
The two of them move to stand in front of each other and hold their hands up till they hovered over each other. Tapping each other's fingers, they call for the Goddess for her help and chant the spell in one voice.
"By the power of space and time
Hear the words, hear the rhyme
By Earth, Air, Brimstone, and Sea
Mold the wood, remove the weed..."
"No, don't remove the weed!" Argyle whines.
"Let the object become a dream
Rebuild our home, so mote it be!"
Loud creaking and the sound of wood cracking was made around the house. Inside and out. Everyone watches in shock and awe as the cabin begins to repair itself. The wood heals and the holes close. Inside they could hear furniture shifting around. Finally...it was like a brand new cabin before them.
"Holy shit!" Mike exclaims.
"Wow!" Joyce gasps.
Amelia laughs and feels Jim wrap his arms around her waist, holding her close against him, "You continues to surprise me." He grins and kisses her head.
Amelia giggles and looks over to see Mike walking up to them, "Hey."
Jim smiles, he was actually happy to see Mike, despite how they left things before, "You've grown."
Mike chuckles, "You've shrunk."
Jim and Amelia chuckle and Jim lets her go to hug Mike and pats his back.
Suddenly, the familiar feeling was back. A cold chill crawling up Will's neck, making goosebumps flutter over his skin. Amelia's smile falls as a dark cloud begins to cover the sky. She slowly looks up with Will as they watch the storm clouds approach them all. The clouds rumbled loudly above them, gaining their attention. Soon, ash begins to fall the sky. Like black snow. Eleven holds her hand out and watches her skin be stained by the ash.
Everyone walks towards the hill that looked out towards the whole town. Before them all, they watch the clouds light up in red lighting as it rumbles loudly above them. They all knew what this meant. Upside Down was coming to Hawkins. One was still out there and he wasn't done.
All over Hawkins, people stopped and looked at the skies. Many in wonder and confusion, but those who knew...watched in terror. Psy and Thud glare at the skies, sensing the dark aura they carried. Thud growls lowly, both of them carried grudges with Vecna and aching for a battle.
Eleven moves and stands out on the hill, sending a cold glare to the storm clouds and promising silently...she'll be ready for Vecna when he returns. Oh....she'll be ready.
Amelia and Jim stood side by side as they held their children close to them. Worry filled their souls for each other and their children. Amelia promises to always protect her children and Jim...no matter what. If Vecna doesn't stop...she may have to do the last resort.
Summon Sollas.
