# Okay, first and foremost, you must be able to understand the difference between copying someone's story and being inspired by someone's story. They are very different and yet somehow, many seem to misunderstand it.

# Inspiration involves drawing ideas from existing worlds and transforming them into something new and original. Such as feeling inspired by someone's witch oc in a teen wolf universe, so you create an oc of your own ( different name, different faceclaim ) and having them as your own original witch oc.

# Plagiarism is the act of copying someone else's work and presenting it as your own. Such as taking someone's oc, their faceclaim, the love interest and the main plot. Changing the way its written does not mean its 'original' work.

# There a many, many plot shops where you can literally get given a plot and ask for assistance with the plot creator for help. There is no need to steal someone else's work completely just because they have hundreds of reads. It doesn't guarantee you will get those same reads. Most would recognise its copied and report to the original writer.

# If you steal someone's work and they request you take it down, just do so. Don't argue against them, don't try and say things like "I used a different name" or "I changed the love interest", if you didn't get permission to copy their work, do not do so. Plagiarism is a crime!

# Also, if you have the audacity to steal a popular writers book only to complain when their loyal readers defend them, don't steal in the first place. We writers do not 'send' our readers after you, they ( like most people would ) defend their authors like they would their friends.

# PLAGIARISM IS A CRIME

# Take a moment and ask yourself this question, "If you wrote an original fanfic with your own ideas and someone stole it, would you do the same thing?" 'Cause we all know that you would be pissed at someone taking your work.

# Also, wattpad shows the literal dates that the books were created. You cannot claim you did it first when there is clear evidence that you did not.
