As Monty and I were setting lights up in our dorm when Dom returned with a gift for Ruby. “What did you get Ruby?” Chief asked, “You’ll find out soon, there’s a few days until the Christmas feast on the flagship.” Dom replied placing the gift under our tree. Just then, Velvet came towards our dorm. “Umm, Dan,” she asked, “You’re still fine with me coming to the feast r-r-right?” “Yes Velvet,” I replied, “You are constantly bullied, so I, nor will anyone on my team stand for it, you can come and feel free to bring your team along.” “Ok Dan.” she replied, as Jaune walked up “Hey Velvet.” he said, “You gonna make it to the feast Monday?” “Yes,” she replied. “Neat.” Jaune said as Velvet left, “Hey Dan, mind if we speak on the roof for a while?” “Sure Jaune.” I replied, “Monty, check in with the crew at the flagship and ensure we have enough room to not use an Astrel Express.” “Will do Dan.” Monty replied leaving the room with us, but heading for the exit rather then the roof.

Jaune and I stood on the roof for a few moments before I spoke. “What did you want to talk about?” I asked. “You’re in a relationship right Dan?” He asked looking into the clouds, “I am a widower, meaning my wife died a while ago.” I responded, “Sorry, forgot about that.” Jaune replied, “anyway, I wanted to get Pyrrha something for this Christmas you’re celebrating on Monday.” “Well, what I would do Jaune is I would get her something small, and tell her how I feel,” I said, “If I were you that is, that’s what I did years ago with Lena.” “Ok Dan, thanks for the advice.” Jaune said as we left the roof.

Monday

As my team and I along with other crew members finished setting up decorations and getting the table set for our guests Monty’s family arrived. “Bonjour cher,” Monty said hugging his wife, “Curie, you remember Daniel, right?” “Oui,” She replied, “Bonjour Daniel.” “Bonjour madame Curie.” I responded noticing two children hiding behind, “Please call me Dan, any family of Monty is family of mine. Monty, who might these enfants be?” “These are my children,” Monty responded, “This is my son, Napoleon,” picking up the boy, “and my daughter, Jeanne Antoinette.” picking up the girl. “Say Bonjour to Dan.” “Bonjour Monsieur Dan.” The children said.

Since no guests had arrived I activated my semblance, calling Lena from the grave to celebrate. “Ello love.” Lena said, “Is it Christmas already, I didn’t have time to get you a gift.” “You being here is enough of a gift for me.” I replied. Just then teams RWBY, JNPR, and CVFY arrived with Penny. “Velvet,” I stated, “I’m glad you could make it.” “Thanks for inviting me.” she replied, “Is everyone here?” “No, not yet.” I responded as Lena laid her arms around me. “Danny,” She started, “Is there a reason you invited another brunette with a british accent to the feast?” “Hello there Miss,” Velvet started, “My name is Velvet, Velvet Scarlatina, I’m guessing you’re Dan’s girlfriend.” “No Love,” Lena said, “I’m his wife, now why are you here?” “I invited her here, because she is bullied for being a faunus, meaning that she is part animal, in her case part rabbit, if the ears don’t give it away.” I said, “No offense Velvet.” “None taken Dan”

Just then Qrow, Ozpin, Chad and other staff from Beacon along with Sun and Neptune. “I think it’s time to start the meal.” I stated, “Would you guys mind if I said a quick prayer before we started?” “You’re our host Mister Marston, please do as you please.” Ozpin stated. “Well if that’s the case I’ll do so.” I said “Dear Lord, I pray that you watch over all of us today, I pray that you watch over all those traveling both near and far Lord, I pray that you help guide those that are lost, give the courage and strength to those who need it. Lord I thank you for sending your son down to us years ago to die for us all on the Cross. In your name I pray Amen.” “Amen” My team responded.

Mike, Tim, Killroy and Adolf helped pass out the meals for everyone, when Adolf came to Weiss he spoke, “And you are Fräulein?” he asked, “My name is Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company.” She replied with a smirk, “Guten tag Fräulein, du bist so rein wie dein Name schon sagt.” Adolf replied. “What?” Weiss replied with a look of shock on her face. “Are you not German Fräulein?” Adolf asked, “your name means White Snow, that’s why I said you are as pure as your name implies.” After everyone ate their meal General Ironwood spoke. “Daniel Marston, I hope you didn’t invite us all here anyway, I hope for your sake that it wasn’t just for the meal, I have important business to attend to.” He said standing up. “Gee I thought you would be gracious enough to spend Christmas with us.” I replied, setting down my Chicken leg, w “Look General, I know you are a very busy man, but still spend the holidays with your friends, and make some new ones.” “I simply cannot stay, I have research to check upon.” Ironwood stated, “Well, the research can wait a few hours.” I responded with a hint of aggression in my voice “What is the point in all this,” Ironwood started, “This is just a damn waste of time.” “OI!” O’Mallus stated, “my children don’t need to see this argument,” as he said that Iota covered Napoleon and Jeanne Antoinette’s ears. “Dan, would you mind tell all of us the meaning of Christmas.” Iota stated. “Of course Iota,” I replied, “Sorry for letting your children see this.”

A few moments later we all gathered around a fireplace while I sat in a large chair, Ruby sat next to Dom and Yang sat next to Chief, Monty sat with his wife, while his children sat in his lap, and the other guests sat around with Ironwood standing in the corner trying to leave. “There are different versions that say the same thing, but the one from The Charlie Brown movie I was shown as a child, is one of the most well defined ‘And there were in the same country shepherds, abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. The first person to give a gift was Dom, he reached under the tree and gave Ruby her gift. “COOKIES!” Ruby shouted with glee. “Thank you Domy!” “Open it.” Dom replied. “AHHHHHHH!” Ruby shouted, “THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU,” “What was it Rubes?” Yang asked, “I got her a Rose ring.” Dom replied with Ruby hanging around his neck, “since she’s my little rose.” “Hey Pyrrha,” Jaune said, “I got you a gift as well.” “Oh, you did?” Pyrrha said as Jaune reached into his pocket, pulling out a magnet necklace. “I got you this, because you are like a magnet, you attract people and things, and well, I’ve found myself attracted to you.” he said, putting the necklace around her neck. “Thank you Jaune.” Pyrrha responded, turning around and giving him a kiss. “Danny.” Lena said, “I’ve been trying to find the time to tell you, but I guess now’s the best time.” “What is it dear?” I asked. “B-b-before I d-d-died,”she started nervously, “I, I, I was pregnant.” “My God,” I stated, holding onto my chair, “I-I-I don’t know what to say, this is both amazing and terrible. D-d-d-do you know if we were going to have a son or a daughter.” “I was having twins, one boy and one girl.” Lena replied. “This is wonderful.” I said giving Lena a kiss, before she returned to Heaven she whispered into my ear, “Don’t be afraid to move on love.” “Congratulations Dan!” Weiss said patting my shoulder. “Thank you Weiss.” I said. “Well I think we should lighten the mood.” Yang said, heading to the sound system to play some music, and we all danced, Dom danced with Ruby, Yang danced with Chief, Blake danced with Sun, Pyrrha danced with Jaune, Monty danced with Curie, and Weiss asked me for a dance. “Dan,” Weiss started, “I know you’re married and all that, but I wanted to say that I like you.” “I figured that much, Weiss.” I started, “When I’m ready to move on you’ll be the first to know.”
