POV: Dan

I stood there on the center communications tower of Caelum as Mike and Tim readied the fireworks. "Daniel," Tracey said over the intercom, "Teams RWBY, JNPR and CVFY are here along with Ozpin and the Thermites, are they clear to enter?" "Yes." I responded over the intercom, walking to the elevator, "Everyone may come on in." After a moment of waiting, teams RWBY and JNPR along with the remainder of my team, Curie and her children, and Ozpin walked in. "Welcome everyone, and happy fourth." I said, saluting as they entered. "Happy fourth Dan." Dom, Chief and Monty said as they gave me a salute.

"What's so special about the fourth?" Yang asked crossing her arms. "It's the day our country earned their freedom." I responded, "Back in the year 1776, America, which was only 13 colonies at the time, was under the rule of England, the strongest Kingdom in the world at that time." "That doesn't seem like an issue." Yang said "I forgot," Dom said "your people haven't had colonies." "Either way," I started, "my country was red up with the maltreatment and inequality brought on by the British Empire, and we fought back." "I remember you telling us about that." Jaune said rubbing his chin. "Daniel," Tracey said over the intercom, shocking some of our guests, "Mike and Tim have called everyone to the courtyard, apparently the 'surprise' is ready." "Put Tim on, " I responded, "I want to speak to him."

"Hey Dan, you guys coming down to the Courtyard?" Tim asked as he came on over the intercom, "What's down at the Courtyard?" I asked trying to figure out what Tim and Mike were planning. "Mike has something planned," Tim said, "he wanted all of you guys to go to the courtyard before the show." "We'll be down in a second." I responded.

After a few moments, we were all down at the courtyard, the smell of burgers filling the air. I saw Tim and Mike standing around a grill and talking. "What's going on you two?" I asked spooking the duo. "It's a little s'prise." Mike answered. "We figured you guys have done so much that we could at least help you out with some stuff." Tim said as Mike brought a plate of burgers to a picnic table. "Y'all ready for some food an' a food time!"

We then enjoyed a large helping of burgers. About half an hour later, the fireworks began. It scared a few of our friends for a moment, but they adjusted fairly quickly. A few moments later, the grand finale began. Fireworks were launched, and when they exploded, the FHP emblem appeared in red, white and blue.

Okay, I know this is a few weeks late, I had a lot of stuff goin' on so time was limited. Either way I hope my fella red blooded Americans had an amazin' July fourth, I hope y'all spent time with your families, enjoyed the fireworks and best of all, I hope y'all were safe, and to y'all who drive on the left an' ain't put a flag on the moon, I hope y'all had a good day.
