Font Apps Review - Canva, Pixlr, PicSee, and More!
Hey Guys!
I did one of these reviews before and alot of you guys liked it and gave me good feedback on how helpful it was. So this time I'm doing a fonts review of the most used and most popular fonts apps out there that people use. They are all free in the app store, so if you would like to check them out yourself go for it!
Funny story before we start though...i actually had to buy more storage for my phone to do this update - but it was fun making this :)
Also this isn't official, but I think I might start making a DIY YouTube Channel within the next year to make live tutorials on how I make my covers and other graphic art. If you would like to see me do this comment below.
So for our first Review, I will be reviewing Canva. Canva is a free app for Apple and Android devices and provides lots of free templates to choose from. If you've read my previous review I actually got early access to the app and was asked to review it. The app received a 3 from me based off of its abilities to create a book cover and it's overall ability to be clear. The app itself was very confusing, but I've given it a second chance. Let's see how the app will do 7 months after my review.
*Each review is written after I've looked at that specific app. They are all rated accordingly. Read to the end and figure out which two apps received superior ratings!
Canva:
The overall look of the app has remained the same, which is clean and professional. I apsolutely love the look of the app. Over the past 7 months they have marked everything and have made everything more user friendly.
Although they still don't have the feature to add your own background, they have it the mark on limitless fonts.
Rating: 4 1/2 stars. Good job Canva!
Pixlr:
Now if you've been reading this book since the beginning, you know I love Pixlr. So I've went into this review blindly and tried to find problems.
Regarding fonts, they have a nice selection. I wouldn't say it's as a lot because most of the fonts look relatively alike. The fonts do provide very nice finish, which I do like and almost make a cameo in every cover I make.
Rating: 4 stars. Shhhh I still love you Pixlr!
PicSee:
The overall design of this app is very aesthetically pleasing, and so are the fonts. The only problem is that there are so many ads and because of that you are spending more time exiting out of ads instead of actually getting to add some text to your cover.
Rating: 3 stars. USE LESS ADS.
Font Studio:
Okay so when I first saw this app in the app store I thought, wow it has "studio" in the name, it has to be good. Well, since I'm pointing this out we all know it wasn't good. It was seriously the worst app. I Hate to even say that but I was so disappointed. The app itself wouldn't even let me add text. Like why wouldn't you let me add text? You ARE a font app.
Rating: 1 star.
500 fonts:
This font app is amazing. There are so many great fonts on this app. I had so much fun testing this out and I was in heaven. I am definitely keeping this one.
Rating: 5 stars. IT'S WONDERFUL.
Text on Photo:
Guys this app is the best. It has the best fonts and it is by far my favorite of all these apps.
Rating: 1000 stars! Please get this!
Thanks for reading this update and I hope I mentioned all of these apps are free in the app store! Please get the last two I promise you won't regret them if you make covers like me.
