CHAPTER SIXTY-TWO: NO PLAN

The plan to save the universe hadn't worked and instead it had speed up the end of everything.

Fei and Christopher had being lost to the Kugelblitz and Five had risked his own life to save Ben before he was also lost to the Kugelblitz.

The Kugelblitz have grown so big that it have absorbing everything.

Lucky, the Hotel Obsidian was still standing, so you and the others have settled down there to think about what to do now.

You were in your suite, spending the whole night thinking while cleaning up a bit since you couldn't sleep. 

A knock on the door was heard and you turned to see Five "We have called a family meeting which mean you have to come. Are you ready?" he asked "Yeah" you nodded "I assume we're discussing this Kugelblitz issue again" you said "Unfortunately, we are. There are too many of us to run the risk of being on different pages. We're a team, remember?" he asked and you nodded before he grab your hand and together you walked out of the suite again.

You and Five walked up to the second floor where you were going to meet the others.

As everyone gather up, you and Five was standing by the railing thinking while Sloane and Luther was sitting on a couch leaned up at each other as Viktor and Lila was sitting on the a chair each.

Viktor was sitting normal on the chair while Lila was sitting upside down.

You didn't knew if Five was thinking about a new plan to save the universe or if he was trying to accept that it was over.

"So, how is it that we're still here, but the whole of the universe is going down the cosmic shitter?" Allison asked "Maybe we're the last to get flushed" Viktor said "Wasn't talking to you" Allison said to him as she crossed her arms over her chest while looking away from him.

"Hey, has anyone seen Klaus?" Luther asked "Or Dad" Sloane said.

"They'll be there" Diego said "Really? Did they...hit traffic?" Ben asked sarcastically and Diego looked at him as Ben turned to face the others "Look, people, we're alive because we're special, right? We're the only ones who can save the universe" he said.

"What's the point of saving the world, when there is almost nothing to save. What is there to save and to fight for. I know we still have each other, so shouldn't we be spending that last time we have left, together" you said and Five took a quick look at you before he turned his head back.

"Uh, question" Allison said as she raised her hand "Yes" Ben said as he turned to her "Didn't we just try saving the universe and fail miserably?" she asked "Yes. Thank you. Finally someone on the same page" you pointed at Allison.    

"Yeah, it's because his plan was stupid" Diego said as he pointed at Ben "Mm" Allison said.

"You got a better idea, genius?" you asked as you walked away from Five before leaning your back against a pillar.

"I actually do" Diego said "'Course you do" Ben said annoyed "We go with the large hard-on particle accelerator. You guys do some science, and..." Diego said and clicked his tongue while he mimicked a bat hitting a ball "...we launch the Kugelblitz into outer space. Didn't think I knew that, did ya?" he finished as Lila sat up in the chair before Diego looked at Ben "It's in Switzerland" he said "It's 'hadron' not 'hard-on'ya moron!" Ben shouted "Oi!" Lila shouted and Ben looked at her "At least he's trying you shitty little squid. What have you contributed?" she asked.

"Actually, he did blow up half his family" Diego said as he pointed at Ben "Oh, you wanna talk about family problems?" Ben asked as he walked towards Diego "You know what should have blown up is your face on that neck!" he shouted "I wish I had a cake to hit you with it in your face!" Diego said as they were inches from each other.

"What are you talking about?" Ben said in Korean "You better cut that out..." Diego said in Spanish "Shut up" Ben said in Korean as they both continued to argue in their native language causing you and the others to roll your eyes.

"Jesus" you said as you put your hands in your face.

"Hey!" Five shouted shouted causing Ben and Diego to look at him "You guys done?" he asked as he approached the group "The universe is disappearing outside" he said as he pointed towards the large windows above the hotel doors "So you can keep rearranging the desk chairs of the Titanic if it makes you feel better" he said before he put his hands in his pockets "But the fact remains that we are too late" he said and both Diego and Ben scoff before they walked away from each other and back to the place they were standing before.

You looked at Five, you could see that this was the latter. He had accepting your fate and for the first time, he was actually giving up

"Five, come on" Luther said "It's over, Luther. We failed" Five said "Come on. It can't be over over" Viktor said as he took his feet from the coffee table "Yeah, come on, Five. We gotta figure this out, man" Diego said.

"Okay. How about we take a step back?" Five said and clapped his hands together "Look at the big picture here. Most of us have spent the last 28 days trying to stop the world from ending. What exactly have we accomplished?" he asked and nobody said anything, realizing that they hadn't accomplish anything.

"Well, we made some friends along the way" Luther said and smiled as he looked at Sloane next to him "Incorrect!" Five said as he pointed at Luther who smile faded "You know what we've done? Nothing. We made things worse every single time" Five said "Amen to that" Allison said and Five let out a sigh.

"Look, when I went to The Commission, I had a conversation with my 100-year-old self. And my last words were, 'Don't save the world'" he said "'Don't save the world'?" Viktor said "'Don't save the world'" Five repeated as his face felled.

"And what about Y/n?" Diego asked as he pointed at you who was sitting on some small steps "You talk to her too? 'Cause I'm sure her 100-year-old self would have giving your 100-year-old self a punch or a slap across the face for saying that" he said "I was dead, Diego" you said and Diego looked at you "I wasn't there 'cause I was dead, right?" you looked at Five and you could see that he tried to hold back his tears as his face fell.

"Yeah" Lila nodded "You expect me to believe that someone like Y/n can just die like that" Diego said "Well, death claim us all some day and I have cheated death many times but we all knew there would be a time when I wouldn't. So I always knew it would happen eventually" you said as you walked over to sit on some small steps.

"I don't believing any of that. Y/n can't die and your old self told you not to save the world. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard" Diego said "Is it?" Luther asked as he looked at him.

"Well, whatever we're doing's not working. All we ever do is save the world for a day, pat ourselves on the back and then everything goes shit again" Luther said "Yeah, maybe we're the problem" Viktor said "Oh, yeah. Us" Allison said with a scoffs.

"So, wait. Your big plan is no plan?" Lila asked "Exactly. Conscientious objection. Why the hell not? We're tried everything else" Five said as he glanced at all of you.

"Look, maybe this just what the universe needs. I say, embrace the apocalypse. See what's on the other side" he said "What if it's...nothing?" Sloane asked "Then it's been nice knowing you all" Five said with the sound of hopeless in his voice as his green eyes felled on your Y/e/c ones.

Five turned to you with a saddened defeated expression painted on his face. What the group didn't know is he was too unsatisfied by this answer. The only thing he wanted was to live a long happy life, with you by his side, but he knew he had to listen to his future self.

"Whatever's on your bucket list, I recommend you do that now" Five said before he walked over to sit down next to you.

You took his hand and rubbed your thumb on his palm which made him give you a quick smile.

 Everyone fell silent as you took in his words with your hearts and minds.

Luther and Sloane then looked at each other with a smile "Well, on that...super happy note, we've, um..." Luther said, not knowing how to tell the others "Oh, what the hell" he said before they got up.

"We've, uh, got a little announcement to make" Luther said

"They are either engaged or they are moving to the moon together" you said "Want to do one finally bet?" Five asked as he looked at you with a raise brow "You do know that I have won almost every bet we had made" you said "Yeah, almost, but this time I will win" he said "Oh, really" you said "Yeah. Are you scared?" he asked "Alright, you are on Jumpy Guy" you said "Okay, 10 bucks on that they are moving to the moon 'cause that would be predicted" Five said "10 bucks on that they are engaged" you said "You don't have any money, Hudson" Five said "Either do you, Hargreeves" you said.

Sloane and Luther both took a deep breath "We're engaged!" they both said smiling as Sloane showed her finger which had a ring on it.

You looked at Five with a raised brow and he rolled his eyes before he handed you 10 bucks.

"Thank you" you smiled "Shut up" Five said. 

"No way" you smiled as you got up. 

"Kill me, Jesus" Ben said quietly "Idiots" Five mumbled with dejected sigh.

"Now?" Allison asked "Yeah. Look, we realize the timing is less than ideal. But, obviously, it's now or never. Am I right, Five? Y/n? You two got married at the end of the world. You guys had an apocalypse wedding" Luther asked as he pointed at Five and you with a smile "Don't drag us into this, please" Five said "Well, he's not wrong. We did get married in the middle of the apocalypse" you siad "Well, keep that story to yourself for now" Five said.

Not that Five didn't like the story, he loved it, but he personally liked it between the two of you only. It felt more romantic that way. His family wold just find a way to tease him.      

"Let me see the ring" you said and Sloane showed you the ring "It's a moon stone that Luther have bought back from the moon" Sloane said "It's beautiful" you smiled.

"What...Whatever time we have left, we wanna spend it with all of you. So we're super pumped if you would join us in the banquet hall at 6:00 p.m. for a celebration of our love, and the official union of what's left of our two great families" Sloane said as she looked at us "Dress code is creative black-tie" Luther said and Sloane laughed.

"I'm so happy for you two" you said with a smile.

"Wish we had a union at a banquet" you said as you looked at Five "In another life, my love, in another life" Five said "I'm holding on to it" you smiled to each other. 

 Luther and Sloane then began handing out the invitations they had made to you all.

The invitations was small jars with rocks that was laying in a baskets as they handed them out.

A wedding might have been just what you all needed but it wasn't what most wanted. Getting ready to die was not a celebration you wanted to partake in, especially if it involved marking something new. But it might be good to think of something else and spend one last moment as a family.

"Wow" Lila said with a small laugh as she was looking at her invitations "And you did all of this yourself?" she asked "Luther helped too. We stayed up all night" Sloane said as she gave Five and you a invitation each "Amazing" Lila said.

Then all of a sudden Reginald and Klaus came up the stairs to them.

"Dad?" Ben said in surprise "Klaus" Allison said as their return shock all of you since you thought that they had been Kugelblitz.

"Hey" Klaus said "Oh, thank God" Viktor said.

"Gather 'round, children. Quickly now!" Reginald said and Lila looked at you "Should we go since---" "Let's stay, wouldn't hurt what the old man have to say" you said and she nodded.  

"The hell have you been?" Diego asked Klaus "Oh, Reg and I. We got tangled up in a whole father-son end-of-the-world road trip kinda thing. You know" Klaus said "You two are hanging now?" Ben asked.

"We laughed, we cried, we played in traffic, and long story short, I'm immortal now" Klaus said and grunt dramatically "Whoa, wait. You're what now?" Luther asked while you furrowed your brows before you took a quick glance at Five who look just as confused as the rest.

"Klaus, have you gotten into the bath salts again?" Allison asked.

"I think the more pertinent question is, why are you all playing with jars?" Reginald asked as he saw that everyone had small jars filled with rocks in their hands.

Lila poured her rocks down while Diego threw the jar away.

"They're invitations" Sloane said as the sound of a jar clatters was heard.

"Nobody's playing" Luther said "Luther and I are getting married" Sloane said as she handed a invitation to Reginald "All of space and time is collapsing, and you are planning a wedding?" Reginald asked "Yeah, and, uh, the things is, um" Luther said as he got up and walked over to Sloane and Reginald.

"Space is limited. So it's kind of a per-plate situation, so, you know" he said before he took the jar from Reginald.

"Would you have invited your father to our wedding?" you looked at Five "I wouldn't have mind, but that would have been your decision" Five said.

"Is this how I raised you? To fiddle while Roms burns? You children all have disastrous issues and are completely incompetent" Reginald said before looking at you "You are the worst one" he said, his voice full of disappointment and disgust. 

You scoffed and rolled your eyes, not caring at all "Why don't you mind your own business, you old fuck?" you hissed.

"Congratulations, Reggie. You have pissed of my wife" Five said before blinking right in front of his dad "Which means you've pissed off me" he said, threatening, his face in Reginald's.

Klaus stepped closer to Reginald "Remember what we talked about, Reg" he said to him "Remember to breathe" he said "Quiet, I'm on a roll" Reginald said.

"Dad, have you been taking your pills?" Sloane asked "As a matter of fact, I haven't. And I can confirm that I've never felt better in my life. You thought you could dope me up and slow me down, take control of my affairs and squander my fortune. Well, Klaus here was good enough to wean me off that wretched poison. And now that the fog is lifting, I can see all your dastardly designs with a bracing clarity" Reginald said and Sloane looked at Klaus "You took him off his meds? What were you thinking?" she asked while Five walked back and sat down next to you again.

"He's the only one doing any thinking. All of you could learn a thing or two from this impressive young man" Reginald said as he pointed at Klaus and Diego chuckled while he crossed his arms over his chest "The world really is ending! Oh my God" he said while laughing.

"As for you the rest of you, your training is to resume post-haste. We're running out of time. We're have a mission to complete" Reginald said "I'm ready. Let's do this" Ben said to his dad while Reginald glanced at you.

Five glanced between you and Reginald, he didn't like the look the two of you were sending each other. 

"Let me guess" Five said and Reginald looked at him "Project Oblivion?" Five said with a smile "How do you know about that?" Reginald asked him "I heard all about it from Pogo" Five said "Now, there's a name I haven't heard in some time" Reginald said "And my amazing and beautiful wife confirmed it to me" Five replied "Don't bring me into this" you said.

"Why not? You're part of this too" Reginald said "Why her? Y/n knows how to kill people. But she also know how to protect them. So why is she part of your little plan?" Five asked as he tilted his head "Pogo said it was because you saw something special in her, that you were desperate, but my instinct say something else" Five said "Which is?" Reginald asked "That you're a sadistic lunatic who's planning on gambling all of our lives in another pointless mission including Y/n's life somehow and you only want her on your side because you know how powerful she is" Five said and you glanced at Reginald.

"And you'd take the word of a disgruntled chimp over that of your own father?" Reginald asked and Five blinked right up in front of him "Every damn day" he said as he looked him with rage in his eyes and a sarcastic smile on his face.

"And what about you Y/n?" Reginald turned to you "You agree with this man?" he asked "I mean. He's my husband and nine times out of ten he knows what he's talking about" you said

"I've been with Y/n longer than I've been around you and everyone else and thank god for that. Pogo's word is more reliable than yours" Five said.  

"Nobody wants you here, Dad. You should leave" Luther said "Hey, you don't speak for all of us, big guy" Ben said to him "You're feel free to join him" Luther said as he glanced at him.

"I see. So this is what it's come to. Insurrection" Reginald said and Klaus shushed him "That's not the kind of erection we're driving for here, all right? Everybody just needs to be cool. Clearly, you guys are on a different chakra frequency right now" he said to him before he grabbed Reginald's arm "Hey Pops, let's go have a nice cup of tea in the suite" Klaus said "Let go of my arm" Reginald said "Luther, Sloane. Oh my God. I'm beyond thrilled" Klaus said as he began to walk away, pulling Reginald with him.

"You guys are gorgeous. Amazing. Send me your registry" Klaus said as the two left.

You looked at Five "I know what you're thinking and I wish you wouldn't" you said before you got up and left, Lila follow behind you.

You need to get away from Five right now. You felt everyone's eyes were on you since Five just brought it up to the entire family.

The plan was going to start and it was frightening to you, thought not much could scare you. You had a feeling Five knew more than he was letting on. Just like you. It all made sense that he wouldn't tell you, as you wasn't talking about it to him. And you knew that he was not going to tell you anything before you tell him first. 

"You know I've actually never being to a wedding before" Lila said as she was walking next to you. "They're fun, most of the time" you said.

"Have you told Diego about the baby?" you asked "Yeah. Last night. He seems happy about it. I honestly wouldn't blame him if he didn't like having a baby because of the whole-end-of-the universe thing going on" she said "What do you think about it?" you asked "I think it's a big ironic bringing a possible life into a crumbling world that is about to end. I think a party is what I need to distract myself from the idea of being a mother. There is going to be a party right?" she asked "Of course that will be a party, you can count on that" you said and she smiled before looking at you.

"Five still love you, you know that right" she said "He don't really act like it" you said "We both know that the Hargreeves are never good at showing or admitting what they feel" she chuckled and you looked at her.

"And you still love him too, I can see it in your eyes, sis" she said "It doesn't matter now" you sighed "Yes it does" she nodded.

"Five loves you more than anything. And he want to be with you" you looked at her "I thought you didn't like that I was with Five" you said "Well, I rather have my sister is happy with someone I hate, than not being with him and not be happy. Don't die apart and don't go down like this" she said.

You didn't answer as you just let out a sigh while you looked forward again.

"Anyway, do you want to go hunt for dress here?" she asked "Of course" you said "Then let's go"

Diego and Allison have left the second floor and Luther walked over to Viktor.

"Hey, Viktor" Luther said and sat down next to him "Um, I got a question. Well, really, it's more of a request, um...it's totally last minute, and...The whole thing is last minute, but I--" Luther said "What is it?" Viktor asked "Will you be my best man?" Luther asked and Viktor's eyes widened "You don't have to do much. You just have to stand next to me and make sure I don't act like an idiot. You know" Luther said with a chuckled and Viktor smiled "I would love to" he said "Okay. Great" Luther said while smiling "Um, okay, so we're on a tight schedule. The bachelor party is in 15 minutes, and not everyone is invited--" "What was that?" Ben asked, cutting Luther off and they looked at him.

"Nothing, man" Luther said and chuckled "Nothing" he said and Ben walked away.

Five took a deep breath before he turned around and was about to leave when Luther called out to him.

"Hey Five, wait a minute" he said and Five turned to him "What?" he asked "Are you going to the wedding?" Luther asked.

"Y/n may not be a fan of social and parties, but my wife makes an exception for weddings" Five replied as he let out a smile while he was thinking about both your weddings, that was one of the happiest and best days of his life.

"You really love her, don't you?" Luther asked "More than anything. I don't think she realize just how much I love her" Five said "I think she knows" Luther said "I hope" Five nodded.

"So how is it going between you two?" he asked "Well, we had a talk at the Academy after we thought we have saved the universe and she told me that she need time to think about if she wanted to get back together with me, but she did promised me a positive answer" Five said. 

"Maybe you should talk to her again, beg her for forgiveness. We don't have much time left" Luther said "I don't want to put pressure on her and I don't want to force her into forgiven me just because we are all gonna die soon. She told me she need time and that's what I will give her" he said "I hope she will get back together with you" Luther said "I hope too, 'cause I don't want to go down like this, even so it would just be for a day or an hour or just a few minutes we are together, I will take that with her over a lifetime without her" Five said before he turned around and walked away.
