CHAPTER SIXTY-NINE: SHE IS DANGEROUS

The song 'Another One Bites the Dust' by Queen was playing out loudly on the speakers as Ben was holding a bottle of champagne that Diego opened with a sword while you, the Sparrow and the Umbrella was in the living room, celebrating that you have saved the universe.

Ohh, let's go

Ben poured some champagne in Five's glass who walked over to you before offering you a glass which you gladly took.

"Y/n, come over here and party" Diego said "Hey, I'm the one that will have the first dance with her" Five said to Diego "Are you jealous of your brother asking me to party with him?" you asked Five "When I had you all to myself for years, can you blame me for being jealous" he replied before he turned his head, pressing his nose against your cheek to hide a smile as it grew on his lips.

Steve walks warily down the street

Sloane and Fei were both holding a glass with champagne as they were dancing.

With a brim pulled way down low

Lila wrapped her arm around Five's shoulder who looked over at you who were dancing with Sloane and Fei

Ain't no sound. But the sound of his feet

Lila ruffled his hair with a smile.

Machine guns ready to go

You smiled as you and Sloane were dancing together.

Are you ready? Hey, are you ready for this?

The Sparrows and the Umbrellas all started dancing around the living room.

Are you hanging on the edge of your seat

Fei and Sloane smiled as they cheered with their glass.

Out of the doorway the bullets rip

Allison was standing far off the side with a bottle of champagne in her hand. She had a frown on her face.

To the sound of the beat yeah

Fei bow to Allison before she rejoin the dance floor.

Another one bites the dust

Ben was pouring the champagne bottle down his mouth as Diego gave him a bump from behind with his chest.

Another one bites the dust

Luther uncorked another bottle of champagne before he sprayed it all over.

And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust yeah

Viktor was smiling to see his family having fun.

Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust

Allison and Viktor looked at each other and Allison turned around before leaving.

How do you think I'm going to get along
Without you when you're gone

Viktor let out a sigh before leaving the living room.

You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own

Five smiled as Lila pulled him closer to the others.

Are you happy are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat

Ben poured down more champagne into Five's glass.

Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat look out

Ben was pouring the champagne bottle down his mouth as Diego gave him a bump from behind with his chest.

Another one bites the dust

You and Five looked at each other with a smile. 

And another one gone and another one gone

The sound of distant explosions booming was heard as Luther was sitting on the edge of the Academy, looking down at a book he have found in Sloane's room.

He let out a sigh as he looked up and out on the destroyed city.

"Are you avoiding me?" Sloane asked and he turned around to look at her.

"Busted" he said and she chuckled as he turned around before he jumped down.

He then cleaned his throat as he walked over to stand in front of her.

He let out a sigh as he showed her the book "My travel guide?" she asked as she looked up at him.

"I, uh, made you a new list" he said and she grabbed it "It's all your favorite Italian monuments that are still left standing, color-coded by region, of course" he said with a smile and she let out a soft chuckled "Nerd" she said with a smile.

"Well, you just saved the world. You deserve to finally see it" he said and she looked at him before looking back down at her book, flipping through the pages.

"And...I'd like to see it with you" he said and she stopped when she spotted a ring in between two pages.

She picked it up to see it was a golden ring with a moon stone.

"I, um...I made it myself. I couldn't exactly find a diamond on short notice, but the stone is moon rock. Um, I brought it back with me, and I've kind of been keeping it for a special occasion, and, well, I--" "Luther, it's beautiful" she said as she looked at him and he smiled.

He then lifted his hand and he slowly took the ring before he took her hand and slowly got down on one knee.

"Sloane, will you marry me?" he asked and she smiled before she nodded and chuckled causing Luther to smile.

Luther slid the ring on her finger and while looking at each other he got up before they kissed.

"Hey Y/n" Lila said and you turned around to see your sister running up to you "I just want to say sorry for everything. For not being there for you. For leaving you. For everything" she said "It's okay, Lila. You were blinded by angry and mom had gotten into your head. It's okay. I'm not mad. Sometimes is not the bullet that does the killing, is the one that pulls the trigger. Our mom manipulated you. She almost did the same to me" you said "So can you forgive me?" she asked "Yeah. I forgive you" you said and she smiled before you both wrapped your arms around each other.

"Can I tell you a secret?" she asked and you nodded "You can't tell anyone okay" she said "I'm good at keeping secrets" you said as you pulled away.

"I'm pregnant, and it's Diego's baby" she said "That's wonderful, Lila. I'm so happy for you, congratulations" you said with a big smile "Thanks, I'm just in doubt if I will be a good mom" she said "Why don't you think that?" you asked "Apples and trees" she said "Don't think that Lila. You're not our mom. Just because bad people raised us then it does not mean that we will be the same. Just like me, I think I was a good mom to Sam and Kayla and therefore I know that you will be a good mom too, never let the family you come from damage the family that comes from you" you said "Thanks Y/n and I know that you were a good mom. Your kids would be so proud of you" she said and you smiled.

"So Stan?" you asked "Not my son, borrow him from a friend to see what kind of dad Diego would be" she explain "Nice trick" you said and she smiled "He is a little mad about that" she said "Give him time. He will come around. He loves you so he of course will give you a second chance" you said with a smile.

"I'm sorry that I couldn't save you from her. I felt like I failed you as a sister" you said "No, don't be. You didn't fail me. You didn't even do it the first time. I messed it up by myself. But thank you for opening up my eyes" she said with a smile.

"Lila, I forgive you for everything. The fight, for trying to kill me, for everything. Maybe you don't want forgiveness, but I'm giving it to you. Everything is too short to hold grudges" you said and a single tear felled from Lila "No wonder Five got all teary eyes, you can make everyone cry. Thank you Y/n, I'm so sorry for almost killing you" she said "It's okay. You were blinding by love, you thought our mom loved you, but love can sometimes also be manipulation" you said.

Lila then opened up her arms "Get in here little one" she said and you smiled before you hugged her "Thank you for making me open up my eyes towards our mother" she said "Thank you for not killing my ex-husband" you said "I didn't want to take the joy from you" you both chuckled.

"By the way, Y/n?" she asked as the two of you pulled away and you nodded "Would you like to be the child's Godmother?" Lila asked "Really?" you asked "Of course. I know you lost your kids. But since you are my sister I think it was fair that you become a Godmother. I want you to be the one taking care of it if anything happen to Diego and me" Lila said "It would be a honor" you said before the two of you hugged.

"We may not be sisters by blood, but you are my real sister" Lila said "And I see you as my real sister as well" you said.

"I love you Y/n" Lila said "I love you too, Lila" you said.

"I think you should need to give Five another chance" she said and you looked at her "Sometimes two people need to fall apart to realize how much they need to fall back together, it's not about fixing something that's broken but starting over and creating something that's better. And honestly no matter how much I hate the little thud. You two, as much as I hate to say it, are bound by something more powerful than I could ever imagine being a part of. That little shit love you so much and even so I hate him, I don't hate you, you are my sister and I want you to be happy, and you are only fully happy with Five" she said and you let out a sigh.

Five knocked on a door before he opened it and enter to see Viktor sitting on a couch "Hey, want some company?" Five asked "Sure" Viktor said "Okay" Five said and closed the door before he walked farther into the room.

"Hey, that was really nice of you. Kill Mom so Diego didn't have to" Viktor said as Five walked over to the desk "My God. We are a weird family, aren't we?" he grabbed a small box on the desk "Sorry. Yeah, I heard it as I said it" Viktor said "It's all right" Five said as he sat down on a chair next to the couch.

Five put the box on the coffee table before he opened it and exhales sharply as he took a cigar out of the box, before putting his right leg over his left.

"What are we gonna do about Allison?" Viktor asked "We're all worried about Allison. I'm scared for you" Five said "Seriously?" Viktor asked "Yeah" Five said as he leaned back.

"She wanted to kill Harlan. She let Y/n kill Harlan. I was trying to do the right thing and save Harlan's life" Viktor said "Do you know why I wanted this last jump to work so badly?" Five asked "Because you're old and tired?" Viktor replied "Because Y/n and I slaughtered a boardroom full of people to buy our way back here" Five said "Shit" Viktor said.

Viktor hasn't realized just how much Five had done for them until now. He didn't know what he did so they could get back. He hasn't realized just how much Five sacrificed and lived through for them.

"But it didn't work, so do you think Y/n knew?" Viktor asked "Knew what?" Five asked "Knew what would happen if we travel back" Viktor said "I doubt that. It's hard to predict these things. Y/n's smart, but even I could not have done the math for this screw up, beside she wouldn't do it. She would never have put the one she loves' lives on the line" Five said.

"Are you sure? What if she's the one behind all of this?" Viktor asked "What do you mean?" Five asked "Like do you think she was planning on Harlan killing our mothers so she could kill him or make sure all of this is happening?" Viktor asked "That would be the case if she was setting the Sparrows up for death. That is not Y/n. She's too attached to them. Beside she would never sacrifices someone she love or put their life on the line. Kayla is gone because of Harlan, and Y/n would never put her own kid's life on the line, she would die to protect them, so no" Five said.

"But The Handler is her mom and---" "NO" Five hissed and Viktor looked at him.

"Y/n is nothing like The Handler, so she would never sacrifices someone she love or do something that could get them hurt just to get more power, beside she don't seek power or population, she stand up for what is right, and simple ask if it the right things to do and if she believe it is, then she would do it, no matter what, that is who she is. Beside she puts the one she love first, before anyone else, even herself so she would never do it. She rather die than hurt someone she love" Five said.  

"But it's Dad's things. Setting people up to death. And isn't Y/n working for him?" Viktor asked "Perhaps, but I can't think of why she would do Dad's work" Five said "Does she need a reason?" Viktor asked "I mean what if he had promised her to bring back her kids" he said "Y/n knows that nothing can bring people back to life, she knows" Five said "What if she think and believe that there is a way?" Viktor asked.    

"The Y/n I know always has a reason behind her actions" Five said as he think that those things Viktor just said make sense, what if Reginald had manipulated you into thinking that he could get your kids back and now with Kayla gone, you are desperate.

"Y/n killed Harlan because she was angry and grieving. For her own self-interest, like a mercenary" Viktor said "She is a mercenary and an assassin, so am I. It was our job. That's what we did at the Commission. She spend most of her life there. Only she's not getting paid or is force to do it anymore. Not that we know of anyway. I mean we wouldn't put it past dad to hire Y/n as his hitwoman. Beside why Y/n?" Five asked.

"What if it's personal? What does she have to gain?" Viktor asked.

"It's not that simple. Y/n have lost a lot, and when a person's emotions is high, especially if a person is sad or angry, they do things before thinking them through. And sometimes they take the blame out on others. Y/n killed Harlan because she believe that it was his fault that our daughter is gone and it was" Five said "Why are you still defending her?" Viktor asked "I have my reasons to defend Y/n, just like you had your reasons to defend Harlan and keep the truth from us" Five said and Viktor sighed as he looked down.

"I defend Y/n because she is my wife, the mother of my dead kids, and because I love her so much, more than you loved Sissy" Five said and Viktor nodded.   

"Little advice from someone who's been there?" Five said and leaned forward a bit "Don't do the math. That equation does not exist. Theres no 'save five Harlans for every two Claires' formula. People like us, we will never save enough lives to make up for the ones that we take. There likely isn't a logical way of untangling what's going on inside Y/n's mind" he said

"I don't accept that. She's dangerous Five. How can you not see that?" Viktor asked "Yeah, she is dangerous. I know that, but I know my wife, okay, she is not that person anymore" Five said "How do you know that? She have changed, for you it has being a few days since you last saw her, but for her it has being fifty years since Dallas, she have changed" Viktor said "Everyone always changed after being hurt" Five said as he was blaming himself for not trying more to get you to come with him.

He wonder what would have happen if he had managed to convince you to go with him. For the first he knew that you wouldn't been so close to his dad, you would have being on Five's side. Kayla wouldn't have being born which was the bad reason, but she wouldn't have being wipe out by the Kugelblitz either. She would have being safe in your womb. And maybe your and Five's relationship would have being different, maybe you would have being closer. 

"She is dangerous Five, more dangerous than all of us, how can it be that complicated?" Viktor asked "Yeah she is dangerous, so am I, so are you, we are all dangerous. Beside nothing in life is simple" Five said "I don't accept that" Viktor said "Then you'll drown. This is the price of being powerful. Sometimes we step on ants. And the sooner you face that, the safer we'll all be" Five said.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Viktor asked "It means you're very dangerous, Viktor Hargreeves. The decisions you make impact the entire world. So no matter how benevolent they may seem, you don't get to make them alone" Five said "Does Y/n's decisions not influence the fate of the world?" Viktor asked "Y/n's very existence affects the whole space-timecontiuum. She have outlived everything, but that doesn't mean she will keep outliving it. Y/n is someone who knows this which is why her every move is methodically thought out. If you are accusing her of acting out impulsively, I'm fairly certain you are mistaken" Five said and Viktor looked down.

"You know what they call a superhero who works alone and doesn't listen to anybody?" Five said before taking a deep breath.

"A villain" he finishing and Viktor looked at him.

"I am not a villain, Five" Viktor said "And, Viktor, I hope to God you never will be. But that remains to be seen" Five said and put the cigar back in the box before he got up with a sigh.

"I wouldn't like to see your blood on my wife's hands. I only stopped her from hurting you because I wanted to talk to you myself. So no more going rouge. If you ever need anything, I'm always here for you. But lie to us again..." he said before taking a deep breath.

"Viktor, I'll either kill you myself or not stop my wife from killing you the next time" he finished and Viktor looked at him.

Five knew that it was cruel to say that to his own brother, but he meant it.

Viktor was growing too careless to be the hero he once wanted to be. Therefore Five couldn't risk him becoming a villain.

If Viktor's action will become a threat and put those people Five love in danger especially you. He will have no other choice than to kill everyone who is a threat or put the rest of Five's family especially you, in danger, even if it means killing his own brother to protect you and the rest of his family.

Letting out a sigh Five left the room, now that he have talked to Viktor, it was now time to talk to you.  He have some things he wanted to talk to you about one of them it is about Project Oblivion and what Reginald was really planning. He had a feeling that you knew something about it.

He hope that you will tell him about it while he also hope that you will give your marriage a second chance.

He looked down at his black wedding ring that he was wearing before he took a deep breath and walk towards your room.
