CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX: POGO

Sparrows Academy 2005

Ben, Fei, Alphonso, Sloane, Jayme and Marcus was in the training room off the mat with their black training GI on, listening to you and Pogo teaching.

"Just because something is right in front of you does not mean..." you said as you and Pogo walked behind them and Pogo poke to Alphonso with his stick "Hey!" Alphonso said "...it is within reach. There is always something in the way. Sometimes it is your opponent" Pogo said as he walked over to the other end of the mat before Jayme and Ben walked out on the mat.

"Sometimes it is yourself" you said as Jayme and Ben stepped in front of each other with a small bell in between them in the middle.

Jayme and Ben bowed to each other before they both got in a fighting position.

"Start the match!" you and Pogo said in Japanese and the two started fighting with Ben stopping Jayme from kicking the bell with his foot and Jayme did the same.

They both let out a fighting grunt as Ben threw a punch at Jayme , but she blocked it with her arms.

She threw a punch at him but he grabbed her hand and he then tried to kick the bell with his foot but she stopped it with her leg.

She was about to kick the bell again, but Ben kicked it with his left foot.

She then punched him in the waist, and punched him again in the lower abdomen. She threw a third punch but this time Ben managed to block it as he took a hold of Jayme's hand and kicked her in the stomach before he punched her in the face.

Jayme grunted in pain as Ben spinned her around before he threw a punch at her and she blocked it with her left arm.

He took a hold of her hand and turned around trying to distract her, but she was a skilled fighter. She shrugged of Ben's hand that was holding her right arm and flipped Ben off.

From the floor Ben grunted and extended his left foot and tried to trip Jayme, but she jumped up and managed to avoid it.

Ben got up and he threw a circle kick at her but she ducked down before she jumped up in the air, swinging a kick at him but he ducked down before he tried to reach for the bell, but Jayme grabbed a hold on his arm causing him to let out a groan and she let out a snarls before turning around as she was now the one trying to reach for the bell.

But he did the same thing she did and grabbed her arm before he pulled her back and the two threw punches at each which they both blocked.

But then he grabbed her arm before he flipped her over and onto the floor causing her to grunt.

Jayme let out a grunt as she got up while Ben was panting.

The other five watched intently scared for Jayme.

When Jayme stood up completely, Ben let out a yell as he released a tentacle and hit her causing her to let out a grunt as she felled to the floor.

Ben smirked before he let out a yell and released another one of his tentacle and shot it towards her but she moved to the side, dodging the tentacle.

Jayme took two steps back as a third tentacle came out of Ben's stomach and Ben let out a grunt as he shot his tentacle towards Jayme but she jumped to the side.

Ben then shot two tentacles towards her but as they came towards her she bend backwards as the tentacles moved over her while she put her hands out on the floor to catch herself.

The two tentacles swung passed her before they hit a wooded pillar, breaking it.

While Jayme was dodging the two tentacles, the third wrapped around her and she let out a scream and grunt as it brought her closer to Ben.

One tentacle wrapped around her torso and arms as one wrapped around her legs and the third covered her mouth and nose before he put her down on her knees in front of him with her back to him.

Jayme let out a grunt as she tried to get herself free from the tentacles.

The five looked at Ben with nothing but pure disgust as they watched Ben had a good grip on Jayme, so she couldn't breath.

"You're gonna tap out or pass out. It's your choice" Ben said smugly while Jayme let out muffled grunting and Ben leaned his head down to her ear "Hey, it's your life" he whispered before he strangled Jayme as she tried wiggling off his tight tentacle grip.

"Ben, that's enough! Let her go!" Sloane said out loud but Ben just smiled.

"Ben, let her go" Marcus said and Ben looked at them, the smug still on his face.

"Jayme. Jayme , come on, just trap out" Alphonso said as she looked at Jayme.

"I'm afraid there's no tapping out in the real world, children" Reginald said as he entered the room.

Ben started squeezing Jayme more causing the sound on bones snapping and Jayme let out a wails.

"That's enough!" Pogo shouted but Reginald intervened "No! Jayme will let us know when she's had enough" he said.

While Ben was looking at Reginald, Jayme spotted a piece of wood with a sharp edge closed to her.

Jayme grabbed the piece of wood before she stabbed one of Ben's tentacles causing him to wails in pain as he let go of her before he felled to the floor while Jayme gasped for air.

She started panting as she stood up before she kick the bell.

She then turned to Ben "Suck it, squid boy" she said as she looked at him while Ben was breathing rapidly.

Ben let out a grunt as he slammed his hand into the floor angry before he got up and stormed out of the room while Jayme walked over to stand between Marcus and Sloane "Good job" Marcus whispered "Good Jayme" you said and she smiled.

"Remember children, we never know what we're truly capable of, until we're force to confront our own extinction" Reginald said "And as their sensei, it is my job to make sure they develop to" Pogo said as he stepped forward.

"Then you overestimate yourself" Reginald said before he turned around at the Sparrows "Children leave us" he ordered and Marcus turned to the others "Let's go guys" he said and they obliged to what Marcus said but you stayed.

"Y/n let me have a moment with Pogo" Reginald said and you looked at Pogo who nodded.

You then nod back before turning around and left.

"Mommy" a five-year-old Kayla said as she rushed over to you and you crouched down, wrapping your arms around your daughter.

"They're not ready" Pogo said to Reginald "Nobody's every truly ready" Reginald said "Sending them to the other side now would be suicide" Pogo said "You've grown too attached, my old friend. Lost your objectivity" Reginald said "And you've grown so detached, you've lost your humanity" Pogo said and Reginald smiled "What humanity?" he asked "I won't let you hurt them" Pogo said "Won't let me?" Reginald asked "You forget yourself, Pogo. They're my children. And they will do whatever it is I ask of them" he said "Not Y/n" Pogo said "She will if it means saving her daughter and get everything she have lost back" Reginald said "I don't think you should underestimate her" Pogo said.

"If you disapprove, perhaps you might find other employment" Reginald said "I can be gone by morning" Pogo said "Why wait? You can be gone in an hour" Reginald said and Pogo let out a sigh before he left the room.

The Sparrows was standing waiting for Pogo.

When Pogo walked past them you hugged him "Take are of your daugther and always follow your heart" you nodded.

"I will give some pills to Marcus and tell him that he have to make sure that Reginald are taking them" Pogo whispered and you nodded.

Pogo pulled away before looking at you "Take care of them for me" you nodded "I will" you said knowing that you will be his replacement.

Pogo gave the box of pills to Marcus before he left while Reginald went back to his office.

(PRESENT 2019)

Pogo lit up a cigarette before he let out a puff of smoke "I don't tattoo children" he said "Swell, I'm not here for the ink. I'm here because you and I have a mutual friend. Sir Reginald Hargreeves" Five said and Pogo sighed "Whatever he wants, I'm not interested" Pogo said and turned back to the tattoo chair "I don't think you understand. I'm one of his children. From another timeline" Five said and a few bikers starting taking some steps closer to Five while the sound chains rattling was heard.

Pogo turned around to look at him again "Another timeline?" he asked before he chuckled and Five quick glance around to see that the birkers started to surround him.

"As crazy as it sounds, you and I have met before. Back in 1963 when you were a diaper-wearing chimp in dire need of a manicure. I don't know if you remember, but I have a scar to prove it" Five said and pulled down his collar a little bit to reveal the three scratch marks.

"If what you're saying is true, I'd be talking to a man well into his sixties. Now, if you excuse me, I've had a very long day" Pogo said and turned around to leave.

"Pogo, you need to listen to me" Five said and he was about to walk after him but the birker blocked his way as they surrounded him.

"I think is time for you to go home to Mommy, little guy" a guy said as Pogo left.

"Or what?" Five asked before he blinked away.

The sound of chopper engine revving was heard as he appeared outside and he saw Pogo driving away on a motorcycle.

"Shit" Five said before he turned his head to see a man who was starting the engine on his motorcycle.

"Hey, I need your bike. It's an emergency" Five said to him as he walked over to him.

"Think you have me confused with someone who gives a shit" the guy said "Give me the bike or else..." Five said but the guy just drove away.

"Okay" Five said before he blinked away.

Five appeared behind the guy that was driving before he pushed him off "Woah" he said as he felled off with a grunt before Five took over the bike.

YEARS AGO

You and Five was laying on a blanket, looking up at the stars as you were holding hands.

"Tell me a little bit more about your family" you said "You already know the whole story" Five said "You haven't told me about Ben. You know, him who died at 16" you said and Five let out a sigh "How was Ben when you knew him and before he died" you said "He was a bookworm. Love reading books. The only time he didn't had a book with him was on training and missions. He would always hang out with Klaus, trying to get him out of trouble. He was also scared of his powers. He didn't like using them. He was shy, but you could always count on him" he said "He sounded like a good guy" you said "Yeah, he was. He was the best of us. I miss him and I'm sure my siblings miss him too" he said "I'm sure Ben and your other siblings missed you when you left" she said "I don't think they miss me" he said "I don't think someone can be that heartless" you said before you looked at him.

"Do you miss them?" you asked and he let out a sigh "It's okay to admit that you miss them. I can see it. Beside I sometimes hear you sobbing at night" you said "I would be heartless if I didn't. But yeah, I actually miss them" he said "Don't worry Five, we will get out of here, and you will see them again" you wrapped your finger around one of his and he looked at you "As long as I have you, I will be fine" he said and you smiled as you blush a little bit.

You knew that as long as you were with Five, everything would be okay. He made even the apocalypse seem not so bad.

YEARS LATER

You and Five were in your apartment, it has being a week since you joined The Commission and you were actually a bit happier than you were in the apocalypse.

"By the way, I have a surprise for you" you said "You do?" he asked and you nodded.

His eyes then widened "It's not our anniversary today, is it?" he asked "No" you said before you froze a bit "Wait?" you said as you thought for a bit.

"No. It depends what anniversary we're talking about" you said "That was what I was thinking, otherwise our memories is started to wear off, which it does when you are getting old" he said "Well, we are not like other old couples" you said before you pulled out something from your pocket.

You handed him a small back box "Why are you giving me a gift?" he asked "As a thank you for everything you have done for me" you said and Five put the small box on his lap.

"Is not a prank, right?" he asked as he remember how you would sometimes prank him in the apocalypse. "It's not" you said.

Five opened the gift and his eyes widened when he saw a black wristwatch.

The watch was an aluminum bezel 16610 Submariner on a rubber strap.

The watch's case was silver. The dial was black. The band of the watch was black and the hour and minute hands of the watch were white.

"I just think, you should have it, so you know the time all the time" you said "I love it. Thank you, Love" he said "You're welcome Hon" you said.

"But now I feel bad and embarrassed" he said "Why?" you asked "'Cause I have not thought about giving you something" he said "It's okay. I just thought that this watch would look good on you" you said "Well, I love it and I will put it on right now. And I will take it off, the only way this watch will off my arm is if someone cut my arm off" he said before he put it around his wrist while you giggled.

"You are the best wife ever" he said "And you are best husband ever" you said "And I promise, as soon as I can. I'm gonna give you a present" he said "No stress" you said and he smiled.

While looking at each other, he smiled as he storke a piece of your Y/h/c hair behind your ear and you smiled as you stared into each other's eyes.

Oh, darling, all of the city lights
Never shine as bright as your eyes

"I love you, forever" he said "I love you too, forever" you said before you brought your lips together.
