Chapter 6
After Jin left for home, Jimin grabbed his office bag, preparing to leave. Taehyung stood by the door, watching him pack for his first day back in Seoul.
"Isn't it your first day in Seoul, Jimin? I'm sure Jungkook will be shocked to see you," Taehyung remarked.
Jimin only smiled, and Taehyung sighed, noticing the change in his friend. The once warm and cheerful Jimin had become colder, more calculating. Jimin had spent time in Italy, serving a prominent family while interning in business administration law. That experience had hardened him, transforming him from the sweet "Mochi" Taehyung once knew into someone more distant and focused.
Without further questions, Taehyung got into his car, heading toward Y/n's mansion, while Jimin followed, deep in thought.
After a few hours of a silent ride, the car stopped at a large gate. The driver showed a business card to the security guard, who glanced at the card before turning serious and letting them in. Jimin smirked, recognizing the opulence and power that still surrounded Jungkook.
"Rich, spoiled brat," Jimin muttered, his smirk not going unnoticed by Taehyung, who grinned, seeing the fire of revenge growing inside his friend.
"Let's go see Jungkook. It's been so long," Taehyung said as the car came to a halt and the driver opened the door.
Jimin nodded. "Yes, it has been a long time."
Jin greeted them at the entrance, holding the door open for Jimin.
"Welcome to my home," Jin said warmly.
Taehyung looked around the massive mansion, still as grand as ever, and asked, "Why are you here, Jin?"
"I'm here to take Y/n home. She's just been discharged from the hospital," Jin replied.
"Oh," Taehyung mouthed as they entered the house.
A maid opened the door, and there, standing in the main hall with her luggage was Y/n. Jimin followed Taehyung and Jin inside, his eyes landing on Y/n. He stopped in his tracks, captivated. It was at that moment, that Jimin fell for her, though he wouldn't admit it to himself just yet.
Jin quickly introduced them.
"Y/n, this is our lawyer, Mr. Park Jimin."
Y/n extended her hand, her voice steady and strong. "Jin Sung Y/n. Thanks for coming."
Her boldness surprised Jimin. She wasn't the weak, crying woman he had imagined. Jin continued, introducing the others.
"And this is Kim Taehyung, an officer from headquarters."
"We've already met," Taehyung said, smiling at her.
Y/n nodded. "Jin, can we go home now? I don't want to stay here any longer."
"Of course," Jin said, taking her luggage and giving Taehyung and Jimin a look to wait. Y/n left with the driver, heading home.
As Jin returned, they saw Mr. and Mrs. Jeon descending the staircase.
"Jin, who is this?" Mr. Jeon asked his eyes on Jimin.
"This is our lawyer, Mr. Park Jimin. He came from Italy to take on the case and handle the paperwork," Jin explained.
"Case? What case?" Mr. Jeon asked, clearly confused.
Jin faltered, but Jimin stepped forward, his voice cold and firm.
"Mr. Jeon, your son committed domestic violence, which is a crime. I don't know if that holds weight in your world, but it does in ours."
Jin glanced at Jimin, noticing the anger simmering in him as he stared at Mr. Jeon. Mr. Jeon sighed, gesturing for them to take a seat.
"What paperwork are you referring to?" Mr. Jeon asked.
Before Jimin could respond, a voice interrupted from behind.
"And who said you could proceed with anything, Father?"
Jungkook appeared, his eyes locking onto Jimin, a smug smirk curling his lips. Jimin's gaze hardened as the tension between them thickened.
"I'm her husband, and you can't proceed without my permission," Jungkook declared.
"Son, please don't make a scene," Mrs. Jeon pleaded, but Jungkook ignored her.
"Mom, stop yelling at me," Jungkook snapped, dismissing her protests.
Jimin and Taehyung remained calm as Jin stepped in to defuse the situation.
"As her brother, I initiated this case for negotiation, not for a fight. You have no right to stop it, Jungkook."
Jungkook laughed mockingly. "Oh, Jin, why don't you just go back to your family and stop pretending you care? Unlike your sister, who is my wife. I own her, not you."
Before he could say another word, Jin lunged at him, grabbing him by the collar.
"Don't you dare talk about my sister like that," Jin growled, fury burning in his eyes.
Jungkook remained unfazed, his mocking tone unchanged.
"Let go of my shirt, Jin. You're making it dirty."
Taehyung quickly pulled Jin back, knowing things would only escalate. Jimin stood silently, watching, knowing this was exactly the kind of confrontation Jungkook thrived on and would do anything to stop Y/n's family from filing the case.
"This conversation is over, Jungkook," Taehyung said firmly, handing over a file of legal documents to Mr. Jeon.
"Please review these marital law papers. The case will proceed to trial next week."
Mr. Jeon nodded, clearly shaken. Jungkook, however, was fuming, his eyes boring into Jimin with hatred. Jimin, undeterred, met his gaze, a silent promise of revenge evident in his expression.
"Let's go, Jimin," Taehyung said, sensing the hostility in the room. He knew Jimin couldn't stand to be around Jungkook any longer.
As they walked out, Jimin's mind raced, filled with anger and contempt.
"Such a bastard," Jimin thought as they left the mansion, leaving the chaos of Jungkook behind.
