Richard woke up still smiling he had been dreaming about Maisie about her perfect blond hair how soft it felt when u would run his fingers through it her beautiful blue eyes but most of all he couldn't stop thinking about the smile that would be on her astonishing face how the same would melt his heart like a fire to ice.

Richard quickly made himself breakfast, egg beans and toast, and sat down to eat it as the phone rang. It was Maisie, Richard was so happy to hear her voice.

"Hello Richard are you okay?" asked Maisie with distort. This scared Richard he wasn't use to Maisie calling him Richard it was normally some cute nickname. For the first time since he walked out that interview he had lost his smile.

"Yes I'm okay hun what is up?" asked Richard

"There are closing of roads soldiers are heading to the boarder we've been told to stay in our houses babe what's going on please I need you please come home quick please," Maisie replied begging to hyperventilate.

"Darling I'm on my way stay inside stay safe," replied Richard running for his coat and then down the stairs to his car. He got in and raced as fast as he could for the Eastern border he knew something was happening he had to get back to Maisie

However Richard didn't get that far as he hit a halt stuck in gridlock. He like many others stepped out there car and walked forward. Richard had no care for a car if it meant he would get back to Maisie, but once he got to the border he realised he wasn't getting home he wasn't seeing Maisie. Due to the fact as he arrived at the border there stood a great wall as wide as the eye could see with guards at each point armed with guns.

Richard looked around as men and women tried to climb the wall each one getting pushed down or shot. People slowly began to run away from the wall fearing death if they stayed. Richard was scared he didn't know how long this would go on for he was worried it would never end and he would never see Maisie ever again.

Few days later

Richard was sat in his hotel listening to the news on the radio when he heard a knock on the door. Richard shit straight up walking towards the door and as he opened it one of the men working at the hotel stood in front of him and handed him a letter. Richard opened it in a flash seeing it was Maisie's handwriting.

Dear, my love

Do not worry I know we will see each other again I know you'll find a way back to me, you always do. Soon you will be back in my arms this is just a hurdle in a face we will find a way to leap over it. I love you Richard I always will.

Richard had heard of a group of people trying to get past the wall while in a local pub the night the wall was put up. Richard through on his coat and drove down to the pub and as he walked in he saw a group of three men at a table, the exact three he had talking about getting over the other night.

Richard walked up to the one sat in the middle and sat across from him.

"Hey my name is Richard I hear you are planing to cross the border," Richard announced as all the men stayed quiet. "please I need to cross," begged Richard as they stayed quiet again. "I need to see my wife," Richard continued as the man in the middle looked up at Richard.

"Be quiet and listen there is no way to go over or cross the border at least not for people like us, they're barbwire trip mines watch towers all this stopping anyone," the man replied. "However we can go under we have been building and underground tunnel oh and my name is James," James continued.

"When do we do it?" Richard asked.

"One week," James answered "but I warn you betray us and I will kill you," James continued lifting his jacket a bit showing his a hilted gun. Richard looked and nodded.

That night Richard sent a letter in reply.

Dear, my darling Maisie

I write to say in one week I will be back in your arms I will be with you again wait for me 500 metres north of Charlie Point bravo I will be there but make sure u hide you can't be seen by anyone.

One week later

James and Richard and one of the other men were down at the tunnel they wondered where the other man was but they had no time and began crawling as two guards ran down and shit the other man James and Richard had already got a good distance away so the guards began crawling after them. James looked back seeing the guards getting closer he stopped yelling at Richard to carry on. Richard carried on feeling guilty but know it'd only waste time and Maisie mattered most to him and getting back to her. He heard two shots as he got out looking back seeing one guard still crawling. He looked forward with fear until in the distance he saw Maisie with her beautiful blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. A great smile grew on his face for the first time in days he was back, back with the love of his life, back with Maisie.

He ran up to her but before he could get to her only meters away. Bang!!! A bullet went straight through Richard as he collapsed to the ground. Maisie ran up to him with tears in her eyes.

"Don't cry don't cry, I'm back just like you said, don't be sad as I'm in your arms... A-and...sure we will be divided but never will anyone divide our love." said Richard with his final breathe as he closed his eyes, blood everywhere in Maisie's arms still with a smile on his face.
