Changed For Good
"Anti, stop playing with the cacti!" Signe reprimanded the demon ego as she shooed him out of her room for what felt like the millionth time.
Months had passed since the egos grudgingly accepted Anti and began to tolerate him since they all lived with Sean and Signe.
The government had found out about Felix's underground lab and had shut it down for good much to his own relief.
Marzia knew about the egos and would constantly go over to visit with Felix, usually with small gifts for all of the egos.
"Jackaboy-Man, what have I told you about using my computer to hack into the government system?!" Sean huffed in frustration as he pulled the hero away from the computer in his recording room.
"But Seeeaaan." Jackaboy-Man whined childishly.
"Robbie, stop eating the cables!" Sean snapped at the zombie who chewing on his cables under his desk.
Robbie reluctantly spat them out of his mouth and crawled out from under the desk, hugging Sean's leg.
Sean rolled his eyes as he managed to limp out of the room with Robbie still clinging onto his leg.
"Where's Chase?" Sean wondered aloud as he looked around the house.
His question was answered when a blue NERF bullet flew from the guest room Sean had created for the egos and bounced off of the ceiling before hitting the hallway wall and flying until it hit Marvin in the eye.
"Ow!" Marvin yelped in pain as he jumped off of the couch he was sitting on in the living room to glare at Chase with one hand over his injured eye.
"This is why I haven't given you your real gun back!" Sean yelled back to the mischievous ego.
"Everyone shut zhe fuck up, I'm trying to vork here!" Schneep interjected loudly from where he was sitting at the kitchen table playing Operation.
"You can't save him." Anti taunted as he sauntered into the room and casually took control of Schneep, causing him to fail.
"Anti!" Signe barked at him as she stormed into the room.
"Fine, fine." Anti muttered as he released control of Schneep's mind.
"Zhis motherfucker." Schneep growled at Anti bitterly.
"Right back at ya asshat." Anti countered with a laugh.
"God, I didn't think personifications of my personality would be so much work to take care of." Sean panted, out of breath from chasing after Robbie since he had tried going outside again.
"I'm not that surprised." Signe remarked as she watched Jameson create a dragon in the house out of boredom.
"Jesus!" Sean exclaimed as the dragon breathed fire towards him, causing him to duck instinctively.
The fire began to eat away at the kitchen walls, causing Schneep to panic as he ran out of the room with the game in his hands.
"Jameson, get rid of the dragon please." Sean sighed, rubbing his face with both hands in exasperation.
Jameson pouring did as Sean asked before putting the fire out.
"Marvin, can you fix the walls again?" Sean asked the magician.
"Again? I just fixed it yesterday." Marvin replied.
"I know." Sean mumbled.
"Alright alright." Marvin grumbled as he walked into the kitchen and tossed a card at the wall that fixed it so it looked like it was brand new.
"You're getting more powerful." Sean remarked in awe.
"Thanks, I've been practicing." Marvin beamed proudly.
"I've been practicing normal magic tricks, do you wanna see?" Marvin asked hopefully, his eyes shining in excitement.
"Alright, hang on a sec while I get the others." Sean told him.
"I got Anti and Jackaboy-Man!" Signe informed Sean.
"That'll work." Marvin nodded.
"Ooh, we should go outside!" Jackaboy-Man chimed in.
"Well....fuck it, why not? My neighbors already think I work with the devil." Sean answered.
Instantly the four egos darted outside with Sean chasing after him after Robbie let him go while Signe stayed inside with the others.
The vibrant evening sun was high in the crystal blue sky, a warm March breeze gently caressing their bare skin.
"Alright, take these cards." Marvin instructed Sean.
Sean accepted the cards as he stood across from him with Jackaboy-Man and Schneep at his side.
Anti opted to sit on a bench nearby, his expression showing his distaste for being with Schneep and Jackaboy-Man.
"Alright, I'm gonna guess what the top card is." Marvin told the small crowd.
"It's a diamond." Marvin blurted.
"Yeah." Jackaboy-Man states, impressed.
"Very nice start." Schneep added encouragingly.
"It is the-"
"Fuck, fuck OW my fucking phone fell on my foot OW!" Jackaboy-Man complained, as Sean's phone he had taken to practice hacking fell in his foot, then felt a rock hit him in the back of the head.
Anti was laughing from the bench as he tossed a rock in his hand, amused by pain.
Jackaboy-Man made a growling sound as he rolled his sleeves up and started to march towards Anti, only to be stopped by Sean grabbing his hood.
"Alright, lets logic this out, okay?" Sean spoke up to return focus to Marvin, wrapping an arm around Jackaboy-Man while he glared moodily at the dark ego.
"It is the king of diamonds!" Marvin declared confidently.
"That's not so bad." Sean admitted as he handed him the card.
"Yeah that's a jack of diamonds, fucking DAMNIT ALL!" Marvin yelled in frustration as he threw the card away and tossed one of his own out in front of him that created a table that he flipped out of anger.
"What did I miss?" Felix laughed as he walked up to the house with Marzia, her arms filled with gifts as usual.
"Nothing." Marvin grumbled coldly.
"C'mon, I'll tell you guys inside while we make dinner." Sean invited, ushering the two inside.
Together the group talked and ate a delicious dinner of spaghetti Signe had made with the help of Jameson creasing different spices for her to use.
Anti was perched on the arm of the couch in the living room was usual, Sean, Marzia, and Felix was at the table with Jackaboy-Man, Marvin, Chase, and Schneep, while Robbie sat on the floor in front of Anti despite his complaints and Jackaboy-Man sat on the fridge.
"Here, you go guys." Marzia smirked as she handed the wrapped gifts to each ego.
"Ohh!" Marvin gasped as he revealed a black velvet cape.
Jackaboy-Man tore his open to find a green jumpsuit much to his excitement.
Robbie received a teddy bear that had on an Irish snapback that reminded him of Sean.
Chase had gotten a modded NERF gun that made Sean feel uneasy by just looking at it.
Schneep was gifted a set of medical tools that he eagerly wanted to test out despite Sean's rule of no sharp objects at the table.
Jameson eagerly accepted a megaphone from her, the others confused by the gift.
Jameson cleared his throat before doing something Sean never thought he could.
"The room was filled with shock as Jameson spoke for the first time, their eyes wide in amazement." Jameson spoke in an announced voice.
"I thought you couldn't talk!" Sean exclaimed.
"The tragic truth is that Jameson can only announce things in third person, making talking extremely annoying." Jameson continued.
"How did Marzia know you could talk?" Sean frowned.
"I didn't know he couldn't talk in the first place." Marzia admitted.
"Anti's turn then!" Felix announced
Anti opened his gift slowly as if expecting a bomb, his expression skeptic.
Inside was a baggy black sweater that read "stay weird" on the sleeves in white print.
Anti eyed it warily before slipping it on, seeming to disappear into the soft fabric.
"Thank you." Anti mumbled as he hugged his arms closer to his chest.
"Thank you!" The other egos called out.
"No problem." Marzia assured them as the egos marveled their new gifts while the others talked.
Even though Sean, his friends, and his egos were divided, they still managed to make it work through the childishness and the pain, even after everything had changed for good.
Like Anti and Felix had changed for good.
And Sean hoped that he could keep the balance between the egos, his friends, and YouTube, even though he knew it would be hard.
