I stayed in Tobias' apartment until my watch read 7:00, where we both decided we should go as job choosing is at 8.

I run back to the intimate dorms to shower and change. When I step out I see Chris.

"So, where were you at 5:30 this morning?" She questions.

"Oh you know, places." I tell her.

"Places?" She raises her eyebrows. Damn her being candor. She can tell when I'm lieing. Although I'm technically not losing to her. Its just a vauge answer to her question.

"Okay." She turns and walks out. I glance at my watch again. 7:25.

I make my way towards the cafeteria.

I see Tobias sitting on a table with Uriah, Lynn, Marlene, a girl I think is named Shauna and a boy I remember from the zip line to be Uriah's older brother, Zeke I think his name was.

After I collect my food I sit next to Tobias, who turns and stares at me as if to say 'what are you doing?' I shrug and shove a bit of toast in my mouth.

The table seems quiet from what it usually does. Its normally one of the loudest tables in Dauntless.

I glance at Tobias to see him shovel a forkful of Dauntless cake in his mouth.

"Cake? For breakfast?" I ask sternly.

"Its not just cake!" Uriah screams silencing the rest of the cafeteria. "Its Dauntless cake! Treat it with some respect woman!"

I'm taken aback by Uriah's response, but I just nod as if I agree with him.

"So," Tobias says dragging out the 'o' sound. "What job were you guys thinking about?"

Lynn speaks first. "Dauntless leader in training."

"Hey! That's what I wanted!" Uriah whined.

"I know you pansycake! That's why I said it. I don't what that job! That'd mean that I'd have to work with Eric!" We all laugh at this. "I actually want to train initiates, I want to scare the cr*p out of them!"

Marlene just shrugs. "I'll get what I get." I nod along with her words.

"Tris?" Tobias says.

"Hmmm, I was thinking initiate trainer, and maybe faction ambassador. You know me being a transfer could help with that."

After I said that the silence returned.

After a few minutes Zeke smiled evily at Tobias. "How about a bit of C or D Four? At my place. Give the initiates a proper welcome to dauntless."

They all agree bit I have no idea what to. "What's 'C or D'?" I inquire.

Lynn groans. "Candor or Dauntless." Tobias answers. "Which is basically truth or dare."

I understand a little more now but I'm still in the dark. "Umm-" I start but am cut off by Shauna. "Someone asks you C or D, if you say C you have to answer a question. TRUTHFULLY! If you say D you have to do a dare that you're given. Okay?"

I nod.

Its a few more minutes before Max is standing before the Dauntless giving a speech about how we are now members of Dauntless.

"Choosing goes in order of rank so, Tris, your up!" He shouts.

I make my way towards the front. My breathing quickens with each step I take.

I look at the opptions on the glass screen that has been borrowed from Erudite. My fingers find their ways to the jobs that I want.

I press down forcefully on the first one then the second.

"Tris, Initiate trainer and Faction ambassador!" Max screams so the whole foodcourt can hear.

Everyone claps, and a few whistle. I've made it through initiation, now I have the rest of my life to go.
