Chapter 14
A/N I haven't read the books in a while and can't remember how the aptitude test started in the book. I think it was in the cafeteria? I might change it so its the test from the book not the movie but for now you're stuck with the movie test

I step into the room greeted by an Abnegation woman.
"Hello my name is Natalie, you must be Tessa?" She says.
"Yep! That's my name don't wear it out!" I say. She gives a light laugh, not the usual response for an Abnegation. (A/N she doesn't like to call the stiffs because her parents were Abnegation born)
"Oh, how io miss Dauntless." She tells me. It strikes me as strange that this woman went from being Dauntless to Abnegation. I've heard of the reverse but not this.
"Why'd yoiu leave?"
"My husband, he was Erudite, he wasn't smart enough so I had to tutor him sometimes -how a Dauntless got stuck tutoring an Erudite I don't know, and he was telling me he wanted out of Erudite. He wouldn't of made it in Dauntless, and neither of us would fit in Amity or Candor, so we decided Dauntless.
"We loved each other so much that we gave up our homes to be together. Although we didn't have much of a home. His family thought of him as a failure, I was adopted." She sighs. "Enough about me. How about you?"
"My biggest fear is my family calling me a failure, and my life is pretty awesome."
Natalie laughs, she looks at the computer and reads.
"Tessa Eaton?"
"Yeah?"
"Any relation to Marcus Eaton?"
"Yeah, kinda, he's dead to Dad anyways." I immediately look for something to change the topic.
"Actually, both of my parents were Abnegation born." I inform her.
Her face lights up. "I have grandchildren?" She asks.
"Are you Natalie Prior?" She nods. "Yeah, there's four of us. Me and Tobin are the oldest -we're twins, Tayla's 15 and Tori is 10."
Tears well in her eyes. "Oh, I'll have to come on visiting day! And I'm sure Tahlee would like to see me again."
"Oh, y-you know that's she leaving?" I say slowly. She nods.
"Anyway, we've been talking way to long. Best get started now." Natalie hands me a glass with a blue liquid in it. "Drink this." I lift it to my mouth and pour the contents in.
"The serum willmp take effect very soon." She says.
The worlds fading black when I hear, "Be brave Tessa, Be brave."

I open my eyes to find myself in the same chair.
I look across to tell Natalie that the serum didn't work, but she's not there.
I get up and walk to where the door is, but when I get there it disappears.
I turn around, and the chair missing aswell.
I face the mirrored wall to not see one, but many of my reflections.
I focus on trying to lower my heart rate like Dad told me.
"Hello?" I call. Not even expecting an answer.
But a tap on my shoulder tells me different.
I turn around and face, another me.
"Choose," she tells me.
In her hands she holds a knife in one hand and a small block of cheese in the other.
"Why?"
"Choose now!" She hisses, then I a nice tone adds, "Or don't!"
I immediately reach out and grab both.
I hear a bark behind me i turn, and see a dog. I do, probably the worst thing possible, I throws the cheese at it, which only only angers it even more.
I chases at me, but I shrink to my knees, focusing on slowing my heart rate.
I here a small sound come from the dog coming from in front of me.
I slowly lift my head.
Sitting before me is a puppy. Its the same dog as before but it's not savage anymore. "Not as scary as before, are you?"
I hear behind me a girl yell, "Puppy!" I turn and see Tori is the girl who called the dog.
The dog suddenly takes a turn for the worse and starts chasing after her.
I stand, unknowing as to what I should do it strikes me, "This isn't real."
I chase after the dog, and pounce on it.
I close my eyes as the dog and I fall through the floor.
I open my eyes and I'm on a bus.
A man -who appears to be factionless- shows me a newspaper.
"Do you know this person?" He asks pointing to a picture of an Abnegation man I recognize as Marcus Eaton -my abusive grandfather.
"I've heard of him. I don't know him personally, and I hope I never actually meet him." I tell the factionless man.
"You could save him if you know him!" The man tells me.
"He beat my father half to death until my father left Abnegation! Im pretty sure I don't ever want to know him!"
Suddenly the lighting dims and all goes into blackness.

"I won't tell anyone about Marcus, don't worry." Natalie tells me.
"I also won't tell anyone about your test results." She tells me. This strikes me as weird. What does that mean?
"What was my result?"
She frowns. "Tessa, I've manually entered Dauntless, but, you're results," she emphasizes the 's'. "Were inconclusive. Divergent."
"Divergent?"
"Youve received more than one result. Usually Divergents only have two faction results. Your mother however broke that rule when she got three. You, my dear, have received, Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless and Erudite. All five."
I can't believe it. Five factions. I'm the only one ever to receive five factions.
"You'll have to ask your mother more. Don't tell anyone -apart from your mother- about your results. Okay?"
I nod my head. "Okay."
"I guess I'll send you on visiting day." she says.
"I guess." I reply as I walk out the door.
Five factions. Abnegation. Amity. Candor. Dauntless. Erudite.
But how?
